I replaced my Nexus 4 back cover, I took the same screws that were on my old cover and try to put them in the new one.
The screws does not fit well and does not screw all the way down.
Can it be because of the back cover? I orderd it from eBay and it's quality not good.
Please help me!
If you are sure that the screws were the same, then your new backcover isn't original and it isn't good! I suggest you to send it back and buy elsewhere.

I ordered it from eBay, sending it back will cost me the same as the back cover (which arrived cracked).
I looked at the back cover that came with the Nexus and the holes for the screws (from inside) are bigger, thats why I could not screw it all the way in (the new cover is white and the old is black, if it matters).
Anyhow, I installed it without the screws and hope to get a refund as the product is low quality, probably not original (but the description says the brand is LG) and it arrived broken.

Like a pratt, i dropped my MDA Compact while getting out of the car. It diudn't damage the phone (thank god) but did scratch the case to bits.
Does anyone konw where you can order a replacement?
I've tried HTC Europe, and yes they do a replacement service, but not just parts, and they want about £60 to replace and fit.
So any ideas? I'm sure i'm not the only one looking to replace their case!!!
Hi tricky,
I saw another post on this topic a while back. Just searched and found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16288.

looked there... as I said in the original post, I tried HTC Europe and they want about £60 to replace the case. I would need to send them the phone and be without it for probably 2 weeks!!
I'm after somewhere that just sells the front cover, so I can fix it myself
If you done replacing your case buy a silicon case or clear case or hard case for your device for it wont happen again.
Cheers, need to find a replacement case first!!!
Hi TrickyD
Yeah for some insane reason the cases are real expensive, i tried in Asia and they wanted equiv 65 pounds also.
Armed with the correct tools, one of those star shaped screwdrivers (techie speak) available anywhere, i took mine apart, which is quite easy. Followed by wet and dry sandpaper, primer and some mighty fine metalic black car paint and laquer. Its been like this now for about 2 months and not a scratch (yes ive dropped it to, but they are slippery little buggers)
If your that way inclined, do it, best decision i ever made.. Warranty void of course...
Regards
Gravity
Well, I dropped mine too. Instead of getting a replacement case, I just bought a charcoal Capdase cover for it. Now it doesn't fall because I can grip it so much easier. Unless you plan on selling it, you could just live with the scratches underneath the silicon cover, you won't see them.
Good afternoon,
Recently bought a housing for my trinity. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=120315350939)
The product was not expensive when compared to others, and it is the original cover from HTC. I have the white one, so i wanted to try the black.
The product came as quicker than expected and in perfect conditions. Also, the seller offers a complete kit to disassemble the Trinity. Checked the Dimantos tutorial (to whom i'd like to thank) in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311463 and dissassembled my old cover.
The black cover i bought didn't even have the LEDs, the camera protection, the buttons (camera, power) - Well, i thought, i can reuse the old ones. And so i did.
But, unfortunately, when trying to fasten the screw, i realised it's just plastic (there nothing in the cover to "receive" the screw) and its impossible to fasten them.
Also, i'd like to know if its possible to buy those little golden pieces, since i don't want to break the other cover to take them out.
Thanks in advance
wow it looks like you've been conned man...

Same here,
but I menage to pull out little golden pieces and place them in my new housing.
If you don't find "little gold pieces" here what you can do...
Fasten the screw in golden pieces but only a half way, than take tweezers, grab screw, and pull it out..
Warm golden pieces with lighter (also use tweezers) and stick them in new housing...
I got a cover from ebay and it pretty much went straight on except i had to put the old buttons in because the new on did not come with new ones
Hi,
it s incridible, i ve just finish to change my housing of my trinity 5 minutes ago !!!!
Same problem as you, no way to put screw, so i destroy my old housing to get the 5 gold piece, and i put it in the new.
One thing to say : f***k this seller on ebay, he says nthing about this issue !!!
Good Luck.
trinity housing from ebay
YUP YUP same thing happened to me! Me and my buddy used a lighter to warm the case and then forced the screws in. I had the black and got the white, I also bought the white silicone case too looks good! It was a nightmare I had to use EVERYTHINGfrom my old case.
Hi everyone. My phone was involved in an accident and all of it's back cover is lost. I've looked online quite a bit and did find a replacement for the battery cover, but cannot find the top back cover, with the camera, speaker and led protections and the power button which I'm also missing, or a full replacement housing for that matter.
The phone is working nicely but these parts are missing, so I'd like to find replacements. Huawei's portuguese representation claim they can't sell me these parts and if I send the phone for repair it will cost me more than a new one (!)
Anyone knows where I can find a full housing for it?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Check here:

Thanks, but that's just the battery cover. I found a few like those cheaper on ebay, but I need the full back cover (the top plate with lens, led and speaker cover and the power button as well)
if u want buy from china then contact me on 008615029025650.
email [email protected]
faizan_950, yes I can buy it from china. I just sent you an email. Thanks
EDIT: Didn't read well, sorry.... You need the back top part....
Since the camera lens cover on the Note is flush with the back casing, it is prone to scratching if you don't have a case and mine was quite badly scratched.
I bought a replacement lens cover for about £5 including postage off Ebay, but the cover is part of the middle chassis, and although I managed to remove the middle chassis easily enough, I couldn't separate the lens cover from the chassis. I then found that the whole middle chassis for less than a tenner here:
http://www.dealrepairs.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-note-middle-cover-chassis-housing_p722.html
Note - some people seem to be having problems ordering from this site - be warned!
I bought it, and it was a perfect match for the original, with a perfect, unscratched camera lens cover. Job done!
The middle chassis housing is easy to remove - unscrew 9 screws and it prises off. Plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how.
Thanks, will try it out if my become scratched :victory:
I got a replacement lens cover instead of the whole back. Cheaper to ship, easier to install.
@ Moandal
Does the middle chassis housing come with a lens cover already attached?

There are quite few listing for Lens cover on Ebay.com
Its priced around 4$ each... You have to open up the back housing and the lens cover is hold up in 3 points..
Use a philips head screw driver to lift them up and then replace it with a new one and lock down the 3 points...
Its so simple and easy to do
mine is also slightly scratched and unsure whether if changing the cover will improve the image quality
after, using the new 4.2 camera, photos are slightly sharper and more punchy, so still undecided

Yes it does, and since I couldn't separate the lens cover from the chassis I couldn't just replace the lens cover on its own.

Scratches make quite a big difference in outdoor light. They diffuse the light and make the photo look washed out.

Well it beats me how you did it! Even with my no-longer-required-and-so-not-afraid-to-break old chassis and a variety of small screwdrivers I cannot get the lens cover off. I can see the three lugs that hold it in, but I can't move them in any direction. Thankfully the entire chassis is pretty cheap anyway.

Thanks for the reply Moandal :good:
I think I'll be putting an order in for a new housing now.
Cheers.
One other thing, I take it I'll need special (small) screwdrivers to remove the screws. And any advice on the tool to use for prising off the old housing or will fingernails suffice?

Well, placed an order on 11th Nov, order still shown pending and no reply to recent enquiry I sent.
Not looking promising

Before ordering a replacement, try buffing the scratches out with a dab of white toothpaste.

OK I've finally figured out how to do this. First of all you have to bend the three lugs in towards the centre from the inside of the housing - easiest with a small flat-headed screwdriver. Then you just have to push it out, although mine was lightly glued in. So now I have a spare!

I was able to change it with warranty.
I getting ready to sell my note1 and since my metal border as some small scratches, I just purchased a middle plate from CNN.CN. Probably about the same price with conversion to dollars. It will be like brand new once I change that. I always hate it when give them pictures and agree on the price, when you finally meet for the exchange they still try to ding you for the scratches you already showed them in pictures. Those people are almost as annoying as the low ballers who haven't seen a pic and are already offering half price.

It took about 4 weeks.
Since my rear glass cracked I've been searching for a replacement. Obviously eBay is flooded with replacements from China but I'm after a genuine cover: it's hard to really gauge the quality from eBay and often time the knockoff covers are either missing antennas or they don't work quite right.
I also know the glass is available separate but don't want to venture down the path of ungluing it.
I finally been able to find the Genuine LG part number for the rear cover in black: ACQ86231209 is the latest version with the two little nipple to keep it just a tad raised. ACQ86231201 is the prior version with no nipples.
Would anyone happen to know the p/n for the white rear cover?
Thanks!
The answer just a tad more search away: p/n for the white battery cover is ACQ86231202.

Have you found anywhere selling these (black or white), and that are reputable? I'd like to get a spare in now so I have one to hand in case I do the unthinkable!

eBay is full of back covers and back glass. I wanted the back cover because it's simpler. Mind you, however, that a lot of them are Chinese knockoff and often miss this or that component: the rear cover includes various antennas.
I could not find a genuine LG in white in the US, but found one on eBay Italy: search for eBay number 221625132014. It is genuine LG, complete, brand new... I'm waiting for my parents to come over next week. The only thing is my N4 is black and totally forgot the SIM tray so now I'm looking for a white SIM tray. Here's the two LG p/n:
White: MBL65457502
Black: MBL65457501
I've not found the tray yet.
If you do go on eBay and put in the LG p/n some black one come up. Obviously if you want to experiment with Chinese knockoffs you find many more...
