I used to to be able to double tap to open camera and now it doesn't do anything at all. My power button to lock option in security is off.
I'm on stock with elemental x kernel, with xposed. Idk if I accidentally enabled an option or disabled something in ex elemental kernel manager or limited a service in amplify that I shouldn't have. Anyone have an idea what I ****ed up that stopped the camera shortcut from working?
And yes the double tap for camera is enabled in my settings and I cleared defaults too for the stock camera but nothing....
Did you turn double tap off and back on again in the settings? May want to try clearing cache from recovery.

Just tried both and neither worked. Do you have any other suggestions that could possibly help me.

Hi guys ,
I am using a rooted stock ROM on my nexus 7 and was watching YouTube when all of a sudden movie kept playing the same frames for a while, while audio was plsying fine and then all of a sudden the tablet rebooted. After reboot all of my third party keyboards got disabled in the settings by their own. Anyway, my problem is that after reboot home button is not working! And when I swipe up also the Google now shortcut is not working ! Nothing happens.
The back and recent apps are working fine right now.
I tried rebooting again but that also didn't help!
Anyone has any ideas ?
Looks like the ROM is booting on kind of safe mode.
I mean when I hold the power button there is only one option and it's power off.
I tried power off and on again but that didn't help!
Also the settings shortcut in the notification menu is not working! But the display rotation toggle is working.
Developer options were disabled, unknown sources for apps were disabled!
Did any of you had this problem before?
I also tried clearing the settings app data, cleared the cache and Dalvik cache from recovery!
These things didn't help!
I would at least back out the rooted Rom and verify that the way the device was intended to work still works. From there, see if there's any updates about using that Rom on the nexus 7.

The thing I don't want to wipe my data and restore everything again! I just installed button savior the home button in that app seems to work.
I think I need to clear data on some system apps part to re-initialize some settings again!

i got the auto correct off, quick settings are not customizable i suppose. One more thing, when i hold the power key i see only power off option, no reboot option available. How to reboot this device then?

When I used the stock Motorola ROM on my old Moto G 2013, the power off was the only option too. I don't know if it's a feature from AOSP or Motorola ROM. To reboot, you can turn off, then turn on or use some third party app. Power Toggles has this feature and doesn't require root. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
Thanks for the link.
This is my first Moto phone. I will have to do some research and get used it.
In developer settings there is advanced reboot menu option I think?

I'm pretty sure that Google changed the reboot option (as in made it go away) with the release of Lollipop. Don't think Motorola or any of the OEM's had say or part in it. That's why the only option on stock is to power down. I haven't checked out "Power Toggles" to see if that is a viable option for stock un rooted phones. I couldn't take the ads any longer and rooted to use Adaway + Elixir (gives you reboot widget). FWIW.

Didn't find
I had accidentally turned on Talkback, now when I try and turn it back off, the Settings screen will not scroll down to Accessibility. I Can't get this to SHUT UP!!!!
I think this is a glich in the STOCK ROM, or it's an undocumented secret.....
I found the solution... Below...
But there is still a glich when Talkback is active. The phone will NOT SCROLL when this feature is speaking...
If you have inadvertently enabled Talkback, you can quickly pause it, and then go back to disable this feature.
Anywhere on the screen, swipe down then right in a single motion, as if you were drawing an “L”.
Note: This should work whether the phone is on the lock screen or unlocked.
You will then see 2 options in the top corners of the screen, select “Pause Feedback”.
When the Suspend Talkback message appears, double tap “OK”.
You can now normally go into Settings > Accessibility and disable talkback

Reboot your phone and try again, also... no need to post multiple times, we all have lives and will try to help when we can. I am not using a stock ROM so I can't check this for you, but I'm sure someone will be around soon to try to help.
I didn't mean to double post, this site gave me an error in my browser and didn't think it posed, so I did a refresh then posted, sorry..

open camera, go to camera settings, enable quick launch
What I mean is that, it actually disappeared on the settings. I don't know what's wrong. I recently review all the things I've done but still nothing. Also I tried reflashing my Stock ROM, still nothing works..
After updating to Oreo, camera app opens with double tap of power button..No matter how hard i tried to find an option to disable this feature. i couldnt find such an option..
FYI, i didn't have this feature enabled when running Nougat.
Any help please??? it starts getting on my nerves because i open the camera accidentally quite often and starts getting on my nerves..
Thank you in advance..
In the settings, search for gestures, the option will be listed there.
Settings>System>Language & Input>Advanced>Jump to camera
