So I've been running with OptimizedCM-12.1-20151130-jflte on my FreedomPop phone, and it's been working OK. Got an OTA (20160118) update and installed it, and while I can apparently get onto the data network, FreedomPop Setup is forever spinning its wheel "Registering for push notifications". It's an L720, of course.
So I can browse the web, but I can't use it as a telephone.
Fortunately this isn't my main phone, so no panic.
n.b. dirty update.
p.s. Pretty sure I'm not a robot, but I could be a cyborg.
I was mistaken, it's not getting data either.
Never mind, a clean install worked.

I have been trying now for almost a fully day to update my hero. I was receiving error 67s and then error 1012. I have been on the phone with customer call all this morning and they tried to reset my phone from the network. Then i was locked out of any data on my phone until the manger corrected my AAA password. Now I can still browse the internet and use other data required applications, but my phone still does not see the new firmware update. Has anyone else had similar problems?
I have 2 stock Sprint Hero phones that I have been trying to update that get stuck at 11% when downloading. Went to my local sprint store and they said it was a problem with the network in our area, North Louisiana.
I used the FRESH 0.4 rom on mine and everything is great.
Yep - I've been getting error 1012 all day. It doesn't even see the update. My Hero is stock rom and not rooted yet. I was waiting to see what kind of updates Sprint and HTC would push before rooting.
**edited i'm in oregon fwiw
whats the firmware version currently? I heard rummers it has something to do with having the early productions that ended in 1.22 instead of 1.29. Mine was a 1.22 as I got it before the official launch. I used the ruu with the launch software and the OTA update went thru with no issues
Dunno - I am looking at software version: 1.29.651.1
build is: CL69164
okay that is the launch release software version. do you get error 1012 when getting on the internet? do you have wifi turned on? Try it with the wi-fi radio off. if you cant get on browser then go to update profile. If you still get error 1012 then you could contact sprint or try doing a data restore the code is ##3282# and you need the msl
Same problem.
Running Software version starting with 1.29
My wifi radio is off, everything else works perfectly I just can't get the update.
I am no expert on this by any means but...
I had rooted mine and it would never even receive the update. Then I ran the RUU utitlity which takes it back to "right out of the box" stage.
Then I was able to get the update immediately. Try that
I did a reboot was able to apply the update. YMMV.
Ok,
Here is the rundown...
I've got a Cellcom Mogul running on Sprint, don't ask, its working as far as voice.
I'm trying to get the data connection working although I've been pretty unsuccessful.
I'm running a wm6.5 rom, although I was running a 6.1 rom too and couldn't get it.
I'm rusty with WM since going over to Android and could use some help..
I've installed the update profile/prl cab, neither work. It seems to hang on "The network is updating your PRL" same with the Profile.
I'm assuming I need to update my profile, not sure how to go about it since the Sprint tool doesn't work.
I've changed the user name to [email protected], I'm not sure what to put as a password, I've got it blank now.
In the data settings I have the #777 with no username/password.
If someone could get me all the m ip settings that would be great.
Anyone?
Anyone have any idea how I can get the data to work. It is registered on my account nothing illegal by buddy at sprint got the ESN added for me so I went back to the original and just need help with the data connection.
IOTA fails everytime.... #777 won't connect.... what can I do?
Update profile fails also.
you might try the "restore" for the data connection, then an iota update.
Did you flash a stock sprint rom?
I tried everything I could before coming here.
Today, phone was working fine. Decide to root and install cyanogen. I used Odin and installed CWM. I then made a back up of my rom with CWM. I used a dual boot type thing to keep the stock rom along side cyanogen. After getting installing new rom and gapps I see my phone is roaming. I try calling *228 to activate it. I press 1 and they say my phone can't be activated at this time. I go back into my stock rom, and its still roaming. *228 does the same thing. I restore from my backup. Still roaming. I now have done a factory reset and still have the problem.
tl;dr I can't connect to my phone network.
This is a us cellular phone/network. I noticed when I call anyone including the *228 it says verizon wireless. I don't know if that means anything
Hello,
I have an international version Nexus 6p. While I was in Panama I accidentally removed the OS using TWRP, after rooting. I reinstalled the latest OS, TWRP, root, and used a custom ROM. I was dumb and didn't back anything up.
I couldn't make phone calls or access the internet with my phone on the network I used there, but I could with WiFi so I chalked it up to the ROM. Removed that and did a fastboot factory reset. I still couldn't make phone calls or receive them so I figured it was the network in Panama.
When I got home I still can't make or receive phone calls. I can text, and access the net but the service is very unstable. I am using cricket wireless, and I know it's not the service because the Sim was in my gf's iPhone and worked perfectly, and my friend has cricket and his is stable and works perfectly. I am running the latest Android 7.1.2 and would love some help with this issue.
I have tried flashing a new factory image, erasing modemst1 and 2 through fastboot, changing bands, using a different Sim card, factory resetting in general.
I have not tried another ROM (read somewhere that chroma would fix the issue, but don't really wanna jump back to 6.0.1 unless I have to).
Thanks for any help.
I installed the latest lineageOS 19 version, rooted my phone then ran into this problem where the phone says i have service, but when i place a call it wont fully make the call. Then my mobile data will X out and i get pop up error saying mobile service is unavailable. I then tried lineageOS 18.1 and arrowOS and same problem persists.
formating between installs obviously.
I have looked at every option on this phone and tried combinations and everything in the network/system/ everything and still not working.
The process was actually very simple since i have some programming experience. Other sources mention possible baseband issues? On the fastboot screen it shows a baseband version. all the information there appears normal. I only flashed the boot image one time to root and didn't mess with any other manual flashing processes. Just used twrp. I didn't quite understand twrp at first and therefore didn't get a backup using it... iused adb to make a backup which apparently didn't work so Im lost and hope someone could help me out here. please and thank you!
If i may add I can use mobile data just fine, i can browse the internet and such (with wifi off and data on only) so i really dont understand. Is this a normal issue to have when using custom roms? did I trip some security that blocked me now? any input???
I wonder, though, this moto g7 is an A/B partition thing. so if i understand correctly, flashing twrp would not work and thus why i did not do that. it makes sense. But should i try flashing it, booting into it then installing lineage? even if i did i feel like that would give me same issue considering the method i followed got me into lineageos, plus root checker said i was rooted.
What I can tell you is what I had to do in order to get LTE (voice calls) running on my G7 - I was forced to switch over to LTE because AT&T turned off 3G here in the US and 4G without LTE is not good enough for voice calls:
Get the latest stock firmware and install it using e.g. Lenovo's "Rescue And Smart Assistant". That will get Motorola's Android 10 on the phone.
After installation, go through setup and actually make a call (calling your mailbox is fine). Then check your ims status (*#*#4636#*#*, goto phone info, pull ims status) to see that ims is actually working.
Shutdown the phone and start installing LOS (use the partition copy script too to make sure that the partitions not touched by LOS installation are updated "on the other flash bank").
Go through LOS setup, select a valid APN for your setup, set "LTE only" or "LTE / WCDMA" for the network and make a call. You should be good to go.
Again this is what I had to do to get LTE working with AT&T USA. YMMW.
Markus.
I know this is way late, and you probably already figured it out. I didn't share the no text problem. The Problem isn't just the "LTE" setting itself. There is one more option(some Roms show it, some don't) I believe its in the phone app settings? VOLTE must be checked. I have noticed Some Roms do have this option and some don't. when volte is checked, it'll keep your data/internet on during a call, some Roms that option won't show up or isn't available. I haven't used G7 in a while, but I do remember the problem and how to fix (on my phone anyway).
