[Q] [HELP] Battery drains so fast even idle. - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help guys, my battery drains so fast. It charges so fast also drains so fast like 1 hour and 35 mins of usage and its dead. Then when I charge again it instantly goes 40%+ again even though my battery just went 0%. I tried many roms, kernels and chargers. No hope

I have same issue it even sometimes charges very slow and when its on charger and I'm using my phone battery drains.
Is this a problem with battery or my phone?
* I use stock charger and OTG

I have a used Note 3, one year within my posession (I'm thinking this here's 1.5 years old.) I think it's a problem within the BATTERY itself. Fortunately, spares are fairly easy to find and for cheap. I tried another battery and it gave me 3+ hours screen on time consistently no matter the usage when the original battery could barely eke out 2.

[Fast Charge] Results, observations, testing

So I was a bit skeptical about practical use cases for the fast charging. I made a general observation after the first few days. It's currently completely not scientific. But it seems when I disabled the fast charging, my phone seemed to handle battery life way better. Idk how efficient the energy is when done via fast charge, but I've always heard that a slow steady charge is better for lithiums.
I figured maybe this could cover the impacts of fast charge and whether people have noticed similar things. (Day 4)

Looking forward to your findings!
I disabled fast charge the day I got it. Seems pointless to me since the only time I charge is at night. It's a cool feature if I need a charge in 20 minutes but the note 3 I gave my wife would charge in no time as well.
Battery life is great so far for me.

I've been testing this as well. I leave fast charging on and I'm seeing an easy 14 or so hours off charger with 4 to 5 hours screen time.
Fast charging is incredible. My last charge cycle I recorded was 56% to 98% in 28 min. That's about 1.5% per minute. Though I suspect soome non linearity as it gets closer to 100%.
As far as the longevity of a charge based on regular or Gast charging . There will Likley be no correlation. The charge circuit will handle the incoming current appropriately and the battery is built to handle it. I am a EE and am intimately familiar with battery technology. The charger itself changes its output voltage for fast charging (stepping up the voltage but lowering the current) and I'm at sure there is some software as well as special hardware controls in place to ensure the battery is charging effeciently.
The usual problem with charging batteries too fast is due to heat build up in the battery. However, these new batteries were developed to solve these problems. I wouldn't worry about it.
Here are my results with just over 3 hours of screen time

I love quick charge. Nuff sedd lol!
After a whole day on wifi in the office plus weak cellular signal inside the building destroys the battery, I plug it in for 15-20 minutes and I'm good for a whole night. Love it.

18 hours off battery, 4hrs screen time, and still 19% battery.
I wouldn't care if fast charging destroyed my battery every 6 months. I'd buy another for $20, but it's not going to do that.

[Q] Battery is charging very slowly, but there's no battery drain

Last week I've installed a new usb port for my S4, because the old one broke. I know you will most likely think I've connected it poorly or whatever, but I don't think so, because I've had the slow charging issue before that.
I've got a couple of chargers. A Xiaomi 10.400 mAh charger, the original samsung AC charger, my nexus 7 charger, a Chromecast charger and a generic one from some store. The Xiaomi charger used to charge my phone quite fast. While playing Clash of Clans, on middle-high brightness I would still get about 1% every 2 minutes or so. Same with the nexus 7 one.
Right now however, it's struggling to get charged. It seems like the battery is draining faster than it's charging. But I've recently rooted my phone and installed the 5.0 GPE version rom, and my battery life has never been better. Recently got to 12h with about 2-3h SOT and still 60% left, which made me really happy. But if I charge it and use it, I only get about 1% every 10-15 minutes. Which kinda sucks.. (Right now, my s4 is on 87% and according to the lockscreen prediction thingy, it takes 1h06min to get to 100, while not using the phone)
Has anyone seen this problem before or knows how to fix it?
Do you charge it at your PC/Laptop?
My phone also charged very slowly when connected to the PC.. This was on original firmware.
Now I'm using GPE ROM but I haven't charged it at a PC yet.
There are some options in the Googy Max settings regarding charging.
What if it's the battery?

Nope, I charge it using a wallplug.
I must say it seems like my Xiaomi battery is charging my phone faster today. This afternoon it did about 30% an hour or something.
Edit: What it seems to be doing is charge fast at lower % battery, and charge slow on higher %. Is this a setting of something, perhaps?

I have an app called battery doctor which has 3 charging stages. From X% to 80% theres a fast charge, then from 80% to 100% it (supposedly) reduces the current to ensure a full charge (basically it charges slower from 80 to 100%). I don't know what difference there is in charging time in those 2 stages. But you say it happens on different roms so either you have recently installed an app like battery doctor or it's something else.
Have you tried charging the phone while it's turned off to see if it charges faster or same as before?

The only apps with root acces I have are system tuner, titanium backup and adaway. I uninstalled System Tuner, will see if that helps. And the only other thing that could do it is Googy-Max Stweaks.
I just turned the setting Charge Control Switch from disabled to Substitute AC to USB and got 7 % in 14 min. I feel it's quite a bit faster now. Gonna check it out while having Clash of Clans running. If it's still charging at 1% every 5 minutes, ill be happy
Just tested it for a bit, and went from 45 to 60% in 22 minutes. So I'm happy again

[Q] Battery charging time

Hello guys ! how much does it take to charge Note4 ? I plugged my device when it was 18% and only one hour needed for full charge (no fast charging) and it drains very fast, device is not rooted, charger is original
it takes about one and half hours to charge through the original charger with out fast charge if the device isn't in use
and it around 2 hrs to charge if it is in use

Battery life is terrible at normal usage, unplugged this morning and dropped from 100 to 75 in hour at standby, what the hell is wrong with this thing
your battery must be deffective, I got 10-11% overnight when out of the box, after rooting, and cuatomizing, my batt consumes 4 to 5 % overnight in standby, wifi off data off in about 6 to 7 hours, using greenify, amplify , controlling autostarts, and removing bloat, I mention overnight, because in the day Its highly variable how I use it, if your batt last a few hours in standby, take it to your OFFICIAL vendor/carrier to claim warranty, I did it once, with a Nokia N95, and got a New one, luck man?

Please Help moto x play huge battery issue

I used samsung fast charger for 4 months and battery life was all good , then i lost the charger so i had to charge the phone with a "not so fast charger" that took ages to charge my phone.
Never charged to 80% , and battery drain was serious.
That's when i got worried that the charger ive been using might have destroyed my battery.
So bought the "turbopower 15" charger for my MXP and at first it heated up my battery more then 60* (serious overheating issue)
After 2 or 3 charges i figured it only heats up after the percentage is 50% or higher or when i use it while charging.
And now it drain my battery like crazy!,
I just restarted my device into recovery right now and it was 45% but by the time i booted up to recovery it said 25%. How CRAZY DRAINAGE IS THAT??, Please devs help me.
Its like i dont need a stopwatch my battery drain a percent per second.
Im using purenexus 7.1.2 by @GtrCraft witb stock kernal

try going back to stock rom, if the problem persists that means the battery is bad

I was just using stock rom but the battery drain was still the same. I dunno if ive messed up the battery because of the "not orignal" chargers or whatever the reason is. I think the battery is now done for. I think Im just gonna sell this phone
Just buy a new battery from ebay, replace it urself. It's easy..

I use tronsmart 3.0 turbo charger (backward capability for quick charge 2.0 devices). Battery life is good. I charge it when it hits 15-30%.

Phone refusing to work with every battery I put in it

So I have an S3 neo and it is about 3.5 years old and it has been starting to drain battery pretty quickly and I thought maybe it just needed a new battery so I had two laying around, one was dead but the second was perfectly functional so I put it in the phone and it is still draining, and I tried these batteries on a Galaxy S3 and they worked fine.
And now I had the batteries charged to 100 percent and they would drain in literally half an hour where I can usually get let's more than half a day. And it charges at let's say normal rate when using the phone while charging, and when it is idle it charges a bit too fast than usual.
What can I do? This is really bumming me out,and could it be because I set it to performance governor?
Did you calibrate the new battery?
