I have near to 800 images on my cell phone which i can see though esfile explore or quickpic but when i connect it my pc with MTP connection those folders/images are not visible to me.
I had this problem, I think I fixed it by going into developer options and deselect the MTP, rebooting and then go back into developers options and reselect MTP.

Thanks for your help. Issue solved
I have the same problem, however after rebooting the MTP is still the selected option. Cannot figure it out how to resolve it.

I had the same problem and this is what I found that worked for me.
So basically you need to delete the cache and the data for the System apps named "External Storage and Media Storage".
Goto
Phone settings-> Apps -> Tap three dots on top right to select select Show system apps -> select External Storage, tap storage and click clear cache, go back to apps main screen, select Media storage, click Storage and tap Clear data. Then reboot the phone and try it. I tried all sorts of different things I found on the internet but this is the one that worked for me. I hope it does for you as well. Good Luck..

Thank you for the detailed advice, however it did not work. 1/3 of the photos in the DCIM folder are missing when connected to PC. I've tried different PCs, cables, cleared all cached, but still nothing.

I have Resco Explorer installed with the Network folder so I can access files on my network.
However, when I go into the Camera the only options for saving files is Main Memory and Network. There is no Storage Card option. How do I make it so the camera will save pictures and videos to the Storage Card?
IS there a registry tweak?
You may try this :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Image\Saveto
0 change 1
It work on Prophet.
Didn't work. Seems that the Camera has only two options available. When I add 1 to the regisrty is simply chooses Network or the second option. 0 is the first option. In this case, Main Memory.
I think Storage Card is missing becuase it displays the first two options alphabetically.
Main Network
Network
Storage Card
When I removed Network from Resco, the Storage Card appeared again.
The solution is to include a 3rd option in the pulldown.....but how?
Hi I have the same problem, has anyone found a solution to this yet ?
In your camera options you can indicate the storage location of the pictures. Start the camera, click the options icon. Click the bottom left button to enable more options. Select options, Then on the first tab select storage card at the bottom
I applied a tweak to show "Network" which resulted 2 options for the camera to save to (Main Memory & Network).
I too was frustrated by the lack of the option to save to the sd card.
As soon as I removed this tweak the storage card option was available along with main memory.
What is the network tweak and how do I remove it ?
same problem with the extended ROM unlock wizard... remove it and it works like a charm.
Well my problem was that I installed pocketLan and in there there is a setting to Show network i the explorer after I removed that setting i can save to SD again. Very strange that they didnt think of allowing more then 2 fields, QA person must of been drunk that day
The only work around I found is that if you want to save pics to your memory card, disable Enable Network Folder in PocketLan, then it forces you to soft reset your ppc, after that you have a option to save to memory card. So when you need to access the Network folder, re Enable it, and it will force you to soft reset your ppc again. Hope some1 can find a fix to this. Thanks
Same issues but with bluetooth explorer
Nvm I am not the brightest as nottoosmart would say.
I was wondering if there is a way to change the location of the recorded video ? By default, it's being stored in device's my documents. I would like to change this to the storage card. The storage options within the camera program only lists main memory and network. I've tried searching the forums but search results were all irrelevant. I've also tried editing the registry but the program still defaults to device's my documents folder. Any help would be appreciated.
Turn on your camera, click the tools icon in the lower right corner, click tools on the lower left toolbar, select options, select general. At the save to prompt select storage card.
Trouble changing the path to the SD
I have the same problem here - the SD option is not appearing, only Main Mem and Network. Any help?
I posted this in another thread somewhere, but for me, this happened when I installed Resco File Explorer and chose the "Show Network - as 'Network' folder under 'My Device'" option. Once I set it back to "Show Network - as 'My Network' root" option I got the option back to store my pics on the SD card.
You probably haven't got Resco installed, but I would guess your problem is connected to something similar.
Problem resolved
Darren,
Many thanks I removed the option from Resco settings. It appears like Reso changed 'Storage Card' to 'Network Folder'. Many thanks!
Forgot something
Also, I noticed PocketLAN or any other networking browser program attempt to add the Network Folder to the directory tree, so it's quite possible that the same happens with these programs too.

No problem. Looks like there's a wee bug in the camera app which would need to be fixed.
Hi.
Just got my Tytn and when using camera it asks me if I want to save pictures to sd card,so I select yes.But when I take a photo it saves to internal memory.
Also, when pressing the icon at the top of the camera screen to change storage location, nothing happens.
Any ideas?

Common little problem this where it will repeatedly ask if you want to save to storage card but then defaults to main memory. There can be more than one cause. First thing to try is removing and reinserting sd card and soft resetting perhaps more than once, each time telling camera to use storage card.
Can be due to having network folder enabled, but try above first.

Same problem here
I have the same problem. When I choose "Storage card" in the options of my camera, it selects "storage card" OK but immediately forgets the setting (when I OK it and then return to options).
I've tried a couple of soft resets, and there is no difference. Help!

When you are in camera>tools>capture settings do you get an option to save to "network" ? Also have you tried taking SD card in and out with device switched ON followed by soft reset?
I ask about network being given as an option because AFAIK the camera only allows two possible settings for storing data. If the network folder is enabled it will always offer network or main as storage. If network folder is disabled you will get SD card or main (unles you have one of those flakey cases where card is not always recognised)
There is a registry tweak to enforce the choice of Card or Main even when network folder is enabled. (Blowed if I can find it now, but it's on this forum somewhere/wiki?)
Mike.

Thanks a lot!!
It was the network folder being active in Resco Explorer.
Changed the setting back to network root and now can switch between card and internal memory at will to save my pictures!
Cheers again.

Thanks for the suggestions Mike.
No Network option - only Main memory and Storage card. Tried removing card and soft reset - still doesn't remember my choice of default storage (the setting is lost as soon as I exit 'Options').
Don't suppose you know where I could find that registry tweak?

Might get another chance to look tonight but at present I cannot find it! - though I did read it somewhere. BUT I'm not sure it'll work for you as it is already giving you the option of "storage card" rather than "network" as some folks have. Might be worth trying but question is why is your setting not sticking?
I suppose the old hard reset is something you really want to avoid!! although that might be your only option.
Suggestions needed from others please.
EDIT: Just had a thought. Some applications only like to save to specific locations. If you have not done so, try creating a folder on the root of your storage card called "My Documents" inside this folder create another one called "My Pictures". Then try again - worth a try.

This is actually the second Atrix I've had this problem on. I'm wondering if someone smarter than me with Android OS has had any experience or knows how to fix this.
It all started when I was moving some apps over the "media area." One of them didn't complete/move and gave me an error. Suddenly nothing that had been moved over to the media area was accessible. None of those programs would load and after a reboot, they didn't show up in the app list. Also almost all of the listed apps kept saying "calculating" under how much memory they used. Plus the option to move any program to the "media area" was no longer available - meaning it was grayed out. Several reboots did not correct the problem.
I factory reset and the result is that I couldn't download/install anything from the market. I would press the install button on any app and it would just sit there and do nothing.
I tried to unmount the "media area" but that hangs too and sometimes gives me an error.
However, I can use a file explorer and actually see files in the "media area" move files around, copy, and delete files. So it doesn't seem to be an issue with the internal storage/media area. I don't know enough about android to figure it out, but seems to be a problem with how the apps are registered. Is there a way to fix it?
I've also already tried to flash the original sbf and that didn't fix the problem. I've also tried the restore android/wipe cache area when you hold the down volume plus power button. I've run out of suggestions and am looking for more before I have to take another Atrix back. Granted I had a LOT of apps loaded, but there shouldn't be a problem with that. Also after the flash the apps in the apps manager keep saying "calculating..." on their size.
Help?
I'm on OOS 5.0
Free storage is more than 3 gigs
But I'm getting the low memory error in stock cam.
Tried clearing cache via app info & stock recovery.
And also tried disabling/enabling it
Any chance to fix it without wiping the whole data.

Here is how I fixed it for those whose looking for fix
Thanks alot for your solution!!! I was already loosing my mind on clearing the Camera App Cache!
I can confirm, after clearing cache with the method "Go to settings > Storage > click on Data in Cache > Clear Cache" my camera now is working again.
Was already in contact with Support and did a Soft Reset of the Phone...nothing worked.
You helped me! Thanks alot! :good::good:
Empty Recycle Bins...
I have a OnePlus5t 6GB/128GB and had the same problem. After having to clean my cache every few days I decided to delete some files.: My storage was saying I was using about 98%.
To make a long story...shorter....I had two very large video files, 15GB and 13GB, and after deleting them it would not make any difference on the storage usage on my device.
Apparently, the Gallery App has a Recycle Bin folder under Collections....and you have to go in there to delete them immediately otherwise it takes 30+ days to permanently delete the files.
After doing this it still did not immediately show any change to my storage usage. Using File Explorer I could see the two large files were been stored in another Recycle Bin( Can't remember the location )...and once I deleted from there they were gone for good and my storage usage dropped to 70%.
I don't expect to see that out of memory message( even though it was not a memory problem )...any time soon :fingers-crossed:
I had the same problem, I had 4gb left but it won't let me take any pictures, it says "low memory.....". I clear "Cache Data" from the main "Storage & memory" many times, it did not work. I finally got it figured out. It's not the "storage space" that was low (AKA the HD), it was the "memory" (AKA Ram) that was full. We all tried deleting files, videos and pictures, etc... but that wasn't the problem, it was the temporary RAM memory that was fully occupied.
So I did this: settings--storage & memory--Apps--Application list, then click on each apps--then "storage" to "clear cache". Did it on all the apps.
You will find social media accounts like "Line" "Whatapps" etc, and Maps and Chrome have the most Cache to clear. Once I went thru all of the Apps to clear, the camera immediate works again.
Make sure you don't click "Clear Data" (Just above "Clear Cache"), it will clear all your chat history and login settings, unless if that's what you want to do.
