Drift in Google Cardboard - Honor 7 General

Hello, this is the first (and so far only) phone that I've tried with cardboard.
It's pretty cool but I'm a little disappointed about the massive drift that I experience
I practically have to sit on a swivel chair turning constantly...
Is the H7 worse than most other phones in this aspect? Or is this a common problem for all?
Can it be fixed by calibrating or messing with the sensors?
Please share your VR experiences with the Honor 7

Hi,
I use my honor 7 eu with google cardboard and VR Box and no drift so far. Im in B140.

Ok, good to hear. I'll try some more apps...
By the way, would you recommend VR Box? (do you have the older or 2.0?)
I'll probably buy that one, Shinecon, Bobo Z3 or IWOWN
Of the cheap (~20$ on ebay) HMDs those seem to be the best
Anyone else with a cardboard recommendation for Honor 7?

Are there any good VR headsets that work with the Nexus 6p comparable to the Gear VR?

I was playing around with the Google Streetview app when I stumbled on the VR option, and really really really wanted to find some good glasses to let me use VR applications. I haven't found anything remotely similar to the Gear VR, which is pretty annoying, given that it seems like google is interested in the technology enough to make this.
Anyone have any leads? $100 is around what I'm willing to spend.

Go with Google cardboard $20 win win
Google Cardboard is cool, but definitely not in the same league as Gear VR. FOV (Field of View) is lower.
That said, for $20 it's still really fun to try out.
I've been researching myself a bit into a good VR headset. What I've found so far is that you need to consider these factors:
* If you can use it handsfree or not (google cardboard you'll need to use your hands to press it against your head, I dont want that)
* Build quality
* how comfortable it feels
* If it releases the heat that builds op
* Quality of the lenses
* Adjustability of the lenses
* If it's google cardboard compatible, this means: does it have a button. If not, you might need to use a wireless controller
Supposedly the "Homido" scores pretty good on all of these, but it's not cardboard compatible: no button, so you'll need a controller (they do sell one seperately). I think I'm going to buy this one anyway myself. But if somebody has another suggestion, let me know !
So I've been using the homido for a while. The quality is quite good if you throw >=1440p at it (oculus rift video for example). With 1080p it's just not sharp enough. But the biggest con with this headset for me is that it's quite uncomfortable to wear. It presses quite heavily on my nose area and after a few minutes of wearing it, the skin area around my nose gets red already and starts to hurt. It's a nice headset to get an idea of what VR can do in its current form but I wouldnt recommend it for anyone who wants to use this for more than 5 minutes.
Supposedly the Gear Vr is more comfortable but only compatible with samsung of course.
My cardboard viewer came with straps to hold it on your head, fwiw.
Less than $15 on amazon shipped.
Probably not the quality you are looking for, but if anyone wants to just get the feel of it, it works great.
I've never tried another. And it does have the button...

Just an FYI For Anyone With a Parrot Bebop(2) Drone

I know this likely won't impact very many people, but the skycontroller for the Parrot Bebop(2) specifies that it will accept a 10" tablet, max. I just want to say that it fits the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2" just fine; although, it doesn't tighten incredibly well into place so be careful.
If you were wanting to buy this drone and use it with our tablet then rest assured it works fantastic.

I just started flying drones this year - have a mini drone and another larger one I can't fly til weather breaks this spring. Is the Parrot Bebop drone a good one? I guess it has flight view on the tablet (I will check it out on amazon) but anything else that makes it special?

Polar M600

All,
just received my new Polar M600 and wonder whether there is already a community for this watch?
It is running on AndroidWear is it not ?
Envoyé de mon MI NOTE LTE en utilisant Tapatalk
it runs Android Wear 1.5.0.3095245. According to the press it is build for Android Wear 2.0 once it is released...
I have mine, love it. Looking forward to wear 2.0.
Any bugs, downsides you've discovered? Do you guys use the watch as a daily driver, worn always? Does it feel/look huge/heavy? I'm used to my Polar Loop and wondering if I dare to make an order without trying the M600 on my wrist... I wonder which looks smaller, the black or white one?
Also, how quick is the GPS to lock on signal?
I have the same thoughts, I use a M400 today but miss my smart watch. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2016/08/...ar-based-m600-gps-sport-watch-with-music.html have a nice review if you not read it.

I am using mine as a daily driver... It is a bit bulky but very comfortable.
During daily use it behaves like a standard Android Wear device. The polar app is quite user friendly I especially like the sync with the automatically created training plan.
The watch also works not only wiith the build in optical HRM but also with a H7 wich might mearure the heart rate a bit more accurate...
Just got mine yesterday, like it so far. I'm surprised there seems so little discussion on it anywhere on the web. Noticed voice control seems very finicky.
Hi there
I need an info on this watch, hope you can look into it.
Is the m600 an Android wear device with a polar app or does the integration of polar/Android go deeper than this ?

It's a regular Android Wear device. Polar software is an app. Only real difference is that you can start the Poral app with a dedicated button.
Thanks @loermansa
I guess then that we should be able to instal the app on any Android wear device ?
Question is ... Will the HR sensor also work if not built by polar...

How can it be that there are only 2 pages of discussion of this amazing watch? It seems to have everything i want: GPS, HR monitor, waterproof for swimming and 500mAh battery
And only weights 63g :highfive:
I have the M600 since a week an really like it. Used a Sony smart watch 3 before to compare with. All seems good, battery life an training function. The display is quite small but works. Voice functions and wear function is good.

Got mine yesterday (had a M400 before), but it seems to be broken. Bootloops after max 5 minutes of usage, even while setting it up. Tried resetting, contacted polar support, nothing helps. Will exchange tomorrow.
On mine voice control was dead out of the box - mic volume really low. Contacted Polar and they replaced it. New one seems OK so far.
Android Wear has been delayed until first quarter 2017

Because there is a bug that prevents some of them from connecting to the phone which requires the phone to be returned and they apparently have no way to identifying which watches have the bug so they can recall them from retailers? I spent over 2 hours today trying to get mine to work before finally finding someone who claimed to have spoken with Polar Support who informed him of the problem.

No matter how you look at it, it is a niche product. A smartwatch built by a sports accessories manufacturer. It works good and I'm happy with it. But it will never be a mainstream product. It's too big to be a regular Android Wear watch and it's too smartwatch-y (i.e. too little battery life) to be used as a regular sportswatch. If you can live with it, you'll appreciate it.
Arjan
Hi,
can someone provide the Polar app APK from the M600? I want to try it out on a Huawei Watch only to track activity to polar flow.
Thanks
Einhard
I have this problem every time you restart the smartwatch climb the steps on the polar flow.
The problem is only in the clock on the phone have normally

Hi,
I am interested on buying x3+ for running. I have doubts, maybe you could help me?
Are running apps running well?
Is a problem de round shape? On running apps?
Does gps have good precision?
Finally. Is heart rate sensor working good? Even running? Can you keep it on during long time?
Thanks for all,
Luis Puig
did you know if it works with running apps ?
nike running or endomondo ?
is it water resistant ? so it would be sweat resistant ?

Running apps work perfect.
There are many apps compatible with round shape. so no worries.
GPS is good. gets locked fast.
Hear rate monitor is nice and fast but it doesnt rate continuously.
I recommend this watch if you want a real watch like feel.
Hi:
I'm also considering one of these 2 watch to buy (the X5+ or the D5+), or even other to buy. The X5+ has the advantage to have the amoled screen, but the no.1 seems to have more support (or at least i can't seem to find any support and firmware page on the finow website).
The watch will be used for receiving notifications from my Android phone and to track my sports activity (running), using sports tracker and C25K applications (heart rate will be monitored by an heart rate band - polar HR-7).
So, what do you guys suggest?

What you have done here is collected just about all the copyright protected faces and launchers ever made and distributed them without permission.
You do not own any of them. You did not make any of them and you have been reported - not just to the XDA admin team but to outside agencies as well.
What did you think you were doing ? It's a blatant act of piracy .......

Just picked a P40 Pro up

Hi everyone.
I know this thread is hardly alive with activity haha but picked up a P40 Pro this morning from CeX in the UK. Had some stuff to trade in like older games etc and managed to bag a black one for £190.
My main phone is a 12 Mini but bought this solely for the camera and to basically have a little tinker with. So no problem about no Google etc as I won’t be using this as my main phone.
Phone has some light scratches so hoping a screen protector and a case will cover it up nicely, but does anyone have any recommendations for a protector that doesn’t interfere with the fingerprint scanner?
Any overall tips for using the phone and getting the best from it?!
Cheers

I've stil got the original one that was pre-applied
Yes, get Gspace from Huawei's own app galley, or somewhere in here on xda, and use your favorite gms apps ad libitum. And enjoy the manual mode it allows really palpable adjustments thanks to the size of the RYYB sensors and the lens combo.
If you want to play some games, well you can, just download the Google games app and any of your liking, then, clone it in gspace, that way you can then download the play games app another time from the playstore, create a shortcut on your home screen and play your favorite games the way you left them on your previous device, all scores synced and so on... Cheers.
Or you can install GMS and use the phone without any restrictions ...
I agree, I installed GMS day 1 I had this device and its been amazing.
If anyone stumbles upon this, this is the guide I used. This way was a lot simpler than using the Googlefier method.
I should get my hands on a P40 Pro as a replacement for my Xiaomi Mi 9, which recently developed touchscreen issues.
Was looking for something good in the 300-400€ range used, almost went for a OnePlus Nord 2, but the P40 Pro just blows most of the competition out of the water in terms of specs
I'm also happy to have a bit of an experiment with a Google-free phone.
I basically only ever use my phone for webbrowsing, emails, messengers and maps, so the only thing I will have to replace is Google Maps.
Maps is working without GMS, but without login option.
WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram is working fine too.
Some of the bank apps doesn't work (can't pay thru NFC; you can use Curve or iCard for that), Android Auto also ...
If you install GMS, your phone will be fully functional.
