wifi 5ghz issues - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody experiences random wifi disconnections. after some time?
After some weeks of testing i couldnt eliminate the problem . the only thing that
Keeps my disconnections at minimum (2-4 in a week) is disabling wps in my router and keeping my 5ghz channel with no more than 2-3 devices connected.
Anybody with the same issues maybe found a better solution to eliminate nthe disconnections ?
My router is archer c7 v1 and shield tv gets connected at 800mbps with router.

Did you try to change the 5GHz channel you're router is using?

Wi-Fi problem no more.

I was having a terrible time getting my wi-fi to work on my DroidX. I couldn't figure out what was going on at first. My Netgear N router was coming up as having WEP security when it has WPA-PSK. My Netgear G router would connect, but I couldn't get any data.
But today I figured out what was wrong. I downloaded a wi-fi scanner app and took a look at what wi-fi channels were in play. Not only were both of my routers trying to use the same channel, but other nearby routers were also using similar channels. Armed with this info, I went in and changed the channels that my routers use. My N router now is detected properly and connects, and speed is no issue. Unfortunately, the G router is still giving me trouble, as I can't find a channel for it that isn't being obstructed.
If you're having problems with wi-fi on your droid X, do what I did and find out if there's a better channel your router can be set to. Please leave feedback here if it does or doesn't work for you.

AES WiFi encryption problems

I have a D-Link DIR-655 802.11n router. Encryption set to AES/WPA2. The DX will connect just fine, but after a few minutes of web browsing it will stop transmitting data. I remaing connected to the Wifi signal but no data is passing and web pages go to 'page not found'. If I toggle WiFi off then on again, I get a few minutes of browsing then the same issue. No such issue on laptop or desktop connected to same router.
I read elsewhere that the DX may have issue with AES or just the 802.11n band in general. Anyone else found a solution or can shed light on this?

Download the WiFi Analyzer app and make sure your router is on a channel that no other router is interfering with.

[Q] Wifi Connection droppinf ater 3 min (on s4) - TP-Link WR740N

hi, i have galaxy s4. My wifi gets connected to wifi router . I am able to download only for 20-30 sec but after that it stops downloading. Even after the downloading stops i am able to surf websites. It means that my connection is not dropping it is only restricting me download.
I have TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless N Router (TL-WR740N) wifi router.
Please help it is very frustrating
.
Use a static IP in the connection settings on the phone rather than DHCP. If that doesn't work, play around with the settings on the router (channels/etc), and if you're still having problems try updating the router firmware.

Wifi roaming between identical SSID's

I'm trying to figure out a wifi roaming issue I've noticed that the OnePlus 5 seems to have some issue when roaming from AP with an SSID to another AP with the same SSID.
What happens is I see the roam occur (the wifi icon goes from low signal to full signal and with wifi analyzer it shows it's migrated to the new AP) but then the phone seems to get stuck and is unable to send / recieve data.
A quick tap on / off of airplane mode immediately resolves this issue but I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this and has figured out which settings on their router the phone doesn't seem to like?
I have other devices on the network and they don't seem to have this roaming issue so it does seem like it's isolated to this phone.
The issue seems to occur most often when roaming from the DDWRT Netgear WNDR4300 (Atheros platform) to the TPLink c20i (AC router on a Realtek platform)
Same problem here. Asus router and asus extender.
Yes, me too. I have a Virgin router downstairs and TP link extender upstairs. When I go upstairs I have to touch off the wifi on my phone for a second and it will then connect.
A bit annoying but generally speaking I am very happy with the phone.

Some routers wifi the speed of the internet gets very slow?

Hi guys,
I have problem with the wifi, some routers wifi the speed of the internet gets very slow. The problem happens with routers from the company 'Net Virtua' and 'Vivo' in Brazil. In other companies the speed is normal. Has anyone had this problem and been able to solve it?
Android 9
Patch June / 2019
There is currently two bugs that i know.
1. If you have Bluetooth AND Location activated, the wifi is slow. Disabling at least one of the two partially solves the problem.
2. Wpa2 psk aes is broken. Switching to wpa2 psk tkip solve the problem, but this is not secure.
