Anyone have a way to add ascending ringtone to a rom? I work in a mixed environment so the feature is fairly useful to me. Any help is appreciated.

is it possible to change the sound of the keyboard?
If possible. Is there a way to pull the sound from words with friends?
If not. Is there a way to pull it anyway. And use it for a ringtone?
Thanks

First you would have to find the default keyboard sound. If I am right, I think you might have to modify the system files to default to new sound rather than the original one. I dont believe you can simply swap the sounds. Second, you would have to know what the specific words with friends sound file name is to locate it and copy it.
I am not saying what your asking to do is impossible, but probably too invloved.
Under the the android forums, apps and development section, someone posted an app that they made that can change the system sounds. I haven't tried it out, but pretty sure you could do the keyboard with that app.
Hello again everyone. As some of you might know, I have finally gotten my Nexus 7 to work with the gmate+ device. For those who have no idea what this is or what I'm talking about, gmate is a device that gives iOS/Android devices GSM functions (call/text, etc.) via bluetooth. Of course there is an app to be installed to the device to pair it and use the features. Unfortunately, the application for Android does not have the option to change ringtone and Nexus 7 does not have native settings for ringtone. So now, for SMS notifications, N7 will play notifications alert tone but when somebody is calling, no alert tone whatsoever. I have tried several ringtone apps but none worked so far. Any ideas how to solve this? Thanks and more power!
Anybody with any idea here?

You can use Zedge to set default and contact ringtones. It says it's set when I try it, but I cannot test for a call.
All I can say is that it doesn't change the ringtone for the Android Device Manager remote ring.

Thanks but still doesn't work.
Hi I've only had my nexus 4 for a few days and I love it. The only problem I have is that I struggle to hear SMS messages. The phone is very loud for calls but not for messages. Is there an app or setting that I can change to fix this? I'm on stock ROM atm.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to be rooted to increase volume levels with a mod bro. You might look here if this helps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liquidsoft.entertainment.volume.booster&hl=nl.
Another non root way is to download louder notification sounds and have a file manager app. To change sound go to sound in settings and use the file manger app just once in the pop up and find the notification sound you downloaded in the download folder of your SD partition.
Hi guys thanks for the replies. I've found an app that let's you browse tones and then set them from within the app. For anyone interested its called ZEDGE and is available on the play store.

Not sure if I understand what you're asking but I have a default ringtone which is "over the horizon" and this is not ascending by default. I can go into my settings and select increased ringtone if my device is in my pocket and notice the ringtone does gradually increase if the device is in my pocket or gym bag.
Hope this helps!

Well, with the increased ringtone option selected or not, the ringtone starts at a very low volume and then it comes normal, and there is no option about it... Or is it??

This is default behaviour of samsung ROMs. If you want to disable ascending ringtone you'll have to root and use xposed module/ wanam xposed.

Ah, I understand now! The behavior you are experiencing is default in nature for your ringtone. You can use my suggestion to help increase the ringtone if the device is in your pocket or gym bag but it will start out low and gradually progress. Try to find a new ringtone or install a ringtone which is better and set this as your default ringtone.
If you like the one you have and just wish for it to be louder, you can customize through a root but if you do not wish to do this, check out the following app. I have used this on other devices so am not sure if it's compatible with the SG-N3:

Hope this helps!

which option from wanam deals with increasing ringer?
edit: found it lol - cheers!!
try this app "HandyPhone" in Google Play store, its better than the app "Disable Increasing Ring"
Open into HandyPhone, then enable ascending ring, set the initial ringing level to "maximum".
Does anyone know how to disable the increasing ringtone WITHOUT using xposed?
Thanks!
My phone doesn't have an option for incremental ringtone? The ringtone is always at a set level. I do however see an option for when it's in my pocket to get louder?
Are you sure it's not just the way the ringtone was recorded?

I'm having the same issue. I can confirm that it's not because of the ringtone I'm using. Fella from work has the note 3 and it did the same thing. Would love to figure out how to disable this

No it's not the ringtone. I made it myself. The first second is quiet then it goes to regular volume. I don't want to use Wanam because you can't play Square Enix games with Xposed installed. My current work around is an app on the play store called "Disable Increasing Ring" and then I go to App Manager and uncheck Show Notifications. This works fine. I just hate using an app for something that should have a toggle by default.
Thanks Guys!
