So I got my (almost) perfect setup on my N9005 with X-Note 7 (4.3 based), Custom N3 Kernel v8, Holo Theme, lots of xposed modules to tweak visuals etc. even more, lightning launcher and appsi sidebar.
I currently can't really think of much that is missing still that made me fall in love with aosp based all-in-one roms like bam in the first place.
Even halo and floating windows (well we got pen-window anyway on the note 3) can be enabled with xposed modules.
Is there anything I am forgetting? Don't get me wrong, I love aosp and really hate the touchwiz crap (at least if you dont theme it) and all that bloatware, but the advanced spen functionalities require the touchwiz framework.
On my note 1 I eventually ended up using JellyBam (thats bam-android now, all in one type aosp rom) because it offered so much more options, and with the "forbidden" kernel which was also cm based the thing ran like a beast.
But now that xposed got so big and theres a modules for all the nice features that get added to the aosp all in one type roms, this changes the game a bit...
---
I already asked people about benchmarks to see if there is any performance differnce between the touchwiz and aosp builds, but it was basically the same. (cm reported benchmarks were a bit lower than my benchmark results, but only tiny amount, and this could have also been caused by me using slight oc, and cm ppl not...)
So are there any hot features that is offered by the CM-based roms that would outweight missing out on the spen functionalities?

This thread is a bit silly I know.. but I'd just like to hear some opinions.
Hi guys I was just wondering why would anyone use AOSP roms on note 4? doesn't it break the S Pen function? you wont be able to use all the note 4 features to the fullest or am I wrong?
AOSP roms are cool... but
Yes, i too keep hearing that AOSP ROM's break the S,Pen functionality. Plus, theres many many bugs too, tho most are small, and just annoying. For me, the Note4 is a special beast thats differet from a Nexus 6. The Note4 is a true 'phablet'. The other's is just an over-sized phone. So my point is why get the AOSP Rom & lose the things that make the Note4 stand out from the rest and change it to just an oversided phone like the Nexus6. I say wait til the bugs are fixed before flashing a new Rom. Or get Xposed Framework and change things to ur hearts content
I love the look and simplicity and speed of CM AICP and so on. Actually I dont like TW.
So, does anyone know wether there is the chance that the devs will ever be able to implement the functionality of the finger scanner or s health sensor in the future? Without the N4 is just a faster N1 without fm
I havent flashed my S5 in a while so im not up to date with the bug fixes for AOSP. Do any of the AOSP roms support fingerprint scanner and 4k video recording? I really want to use an AOSP rom but i also want to use the features i bought the phone for. At the very minimum i would like the fingerprint scanner to work
please say rom name and reason
Try is out yourself. Not everyone has the same experience with the same rom.

I have tried few most popular roms for note 3 (even tho its TMO i was using supported ones) and i can tell you that stock lolipop gave me best experience and here is why.
My first rom ever to be flashed was darklord note 5 port by darkera13 and even though it gave me stunning battery idle time it also gave me some bad experiences using camera software which was either poor quality or simply not working when it was needed.
Next I tried s6 port by same developer assuming 5.0.2 base would be much more compatible with our official one but there were some massive memory redraws and weird display brightness bug(screen becomes dim on wakeup).
Since roms above were used as base to other port style roms I dont expect any better from them.(not saying they are bad, contrary, but when stability and reliability is in question ill prefer stock sluggy rom.
I must say that I have never used CM on note 3 so I must leave that to someone else but by the time I am writing this i am using stock and only 5.0 rom provided by TMO on top of lean kernel.(also its massively debloated ).
Cheers,hope it helps!!
AryaMod: Fully featured. Stable. Fluid too (as fluid as stock), and believe some features are really handy, like the alarm notification on lock screen which Samsung omitted from Lollipop. Just use it without Xposed, and you are good to go.

Try tazzy-aurora note 5 port with darklord kernel 1.5 & LS speed mod. Everything works fine and it's really fast with good battery life.
I flashed the s6 settings + stock ui mod (extra mods) and i'm really happy with. Also no camera flickering with darklord kernel
See my sig. Temasek ftw ^^

AryaMod IMO is by far the best Lollipop TW based experience available. I tried literally every single rom from here for 5.0 and nothing compares to Arya when it comes to stability, usage, battery... I highly recommend it!
Always back to cyanogemod CM12.1 = quick, slim, reliable. Only negative is of course the lack of s pen, but you got some third party apps for that.
Used to be great fan of miui, however they are now getting less popular by making their new MIUI 7 lollipop based, which is a sad thing.
I already know that many AOSP ROMs come with built-in Blue light filters. However I fail to find this feature in TouchWiz ROMs for the Galaxy S5, even on ROM ports from S7 or the newer Note devices.
Have you stumbled upon TouchWiz ROMs with this feature baked in its Settings?
