Protected apps not working - YU Yureka Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Lately i have not been able to open protected apps with the pattern lock i set. The lock just appears twice and even after drawing the correct unlock pattern, it wont open. It just goes back to the home screen. I even tried resetting my home to factory settings. Aftet that the lock worked for a couple of times and then again the same problem. Can anybody throw some light on this? That will be very helpful.
P.S. i cant find any particular app that might have caused this and i dont have any external app lock on my yureka.
PS I know I copied it from an earlier post but that post was not answered so I created this.
I am facing the exact same problem.

Odd key lock problem

I am using a stock ROM, I can't remember which one at the moment but I don't think the ROM is the issue.
I was running BB Connect for awhile and all the key locks were working properly. I had to uninstall it and to make sure nobody could access my phone I turned on PIN lock. The problem is when I hold the end key it doesn't lock. I remove PIN lock and it works fine.
I would hate to hard reset to fix and was wondering if there is a setting I need to fix to get this working poperly?
I had the exact same issue a while back. With the PIN code the end key doesnt work as a lock. I tried the hard reset a few times but it never worked. The only solution I could find was to not use the PIN.
Although I've recently upgraded the ROM. Havent tried to see if theyve fixed it in the new ROM.
I wasn't sure if it was the removal of BB Connect or a bug in the ROM.
This is a well documented and strange thing.
If you have pin lock enabled, the hold end key to lock function does not work.
look around the forums and web, you will find this has always been so.

*Possible* unlock glitch\security flaw discovered

So yesterday, I turned off the security pattern to unlock the phone. This morning, when I went to unlock it by sliding it, I was asked to draw the pattern again, even though I had turned off the Unlock Pattern.
But here's the interesting part: when asking for the unlock pattern, it'll accept ANY pattern to unlock the phone. Even if it is just a single circle.
I'm gonna upload a video showing this to YouTube soon.
EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPUY52kb8G8
Nice music in the video!
Interesting flaw there, perhaps it could be a settings glitch? Have you tried toggling the option to ON, then locking the device, unlocking, and then toggling it to OFF, to see if it didn't get interuppted while saving that setting?
Otherwise, have you rebooted after you removed the pattern requirement? If not, that setting could be lingering around in memory...
Actually, after shooting that video, I turned on the unlock pattern and turned it off again. It seemed to be good for a few hours, then the problem reoccured. Even now, the phone switched off due to the battery running out. When I turned it on and asked me for the unlock pattern, it unlocked atfer touching ONE circle.
Hm, interesting. Have you flashed the device at all or are you running stock OS?
As my sig says, stock. If I turn on the Unlock Pattern and turn it off, it'll stay like that for about 8 hours or so, and then it'll come back!
Hm, alright. I was going to suggest a factory reset, but that'll wipe your stuff off your HTC's memory (not the MicroSD Card, though). I haven't run into this problem before, I'll see if it does the same on mine when I get it.

I don't mind resetting it. I can backup my data through WaveSecure. I'm pretty sure that will fix the problem. But I'm more interested in finding out WHY it is happening on the first place.

Disable key guard, No Lock not working?

For months now Ive used No Lock effectively to disable the keyguard or lock.
However, last week I pulled the battery, and when i rebooted, EVERY TIME i turn off the screen i need to slide the lock thing to unlock it.
Ive uninstalled msecure, and seekdroid to avoid conflicts, and gone through almost every apps permissions looking for the culplit. No new apps since this started...
I did have a device administrator, which was removed about a month ago. even then it didnt have a screen lock in place.
Ive since renamed adminfeednotifier so i dont see any reason that would be the issue. Also ive tried other 'unlock' programs like Anti-Lock, but to no avail.
Strange thing seems to be that if i power off, it works again, power button / home button pop right to the home scree, but only until i pull the battery...
Then after 2-3 minutes the screen lock pops up again! >:<
its driving me nuts not knowing whats causing the issue.
Please help me figure this out.

Pattern changed by itself?

Hi,
Has anyone ran into this issue where the pattern changed itself or no longer worked? I definitely did not update or change it. All of sudden today, it just stopped taking it. Initially, I was able to unlock with my fingerprint. However, when I went into lock screen settings to try and figure out what's the issue, it prompts of course for the pattern. It then of course said it was incorrect and then told me to try again. Now I'm currently locked out 60 minutes and my fingerprint doesn't work anymore either! This is such an annoying bug and have no idea how this came about since I haven't updated or downloaded any new apps. I've also rebooted several times as others have stated, and the problem persists..
This worked for me!

Hey- I had the same issue happen to me yesterday. I was able to accidentally find a solution by following these steps
1. Turn off your Android device.
2. Press and hold the "power", "volume down", and "bottom" buttons simultaneously. ...
3. Release the buttons once your Android device is powered on.
4. A Warning screen will appear, press the volume down option to cancel and (restart phone)
5. Phone will restart and ask for your pin, the original pin should now be working again.
6. Add your other fingers to the scanner! - at least that's what I did

Forgotten Pattern Bug?

My friend thought that one of her friends changed her pattern at a party as a joke. I was trying to figure out how to fix this without resetting the phone. It also had a weird symptom of not having a limit on maximum number of attempts. Usually the phone would give you a timeout after 3-5 attempts, but here it didn't happen. Well, turns out that phone just needed a reboot! Nobody changed her password. After the reboot the old pattern worked.
I scrolled through this forum and I saw a lot of recent questions about people being unable to use pattern to unlock their phones. Is it a software bug or something?
