Hi all,
I am running Cyanogenmod 11 4.4.4 on my Galaxy S4 which I installed using the Cyanogenmod installer a month or so ago.
I was running 4.4.3 I think until yesterday I got a notice saying an update is available. This new update is horrible, the camera doesn't work t all now aand music skips too.
But I am not completely sure that it's a software fault as I dropped my phone today morning and I think that may have been the cause. So to make sure it's a software problem I want to revert back to the 4.4.3.
Any way about this?
Thanks

Hi,
When you say 4.4.2 do you mean CM or Stock? Either would be fine. Actually I think the update you installed was buggy nightly, maybe updating to the next nightly may fix it as well .

I mean 4.4.2 CM. Would a wipe be needed? I'm not that bothered if I do because I'll backup everything and do a nand backup too but rather not
And I think it was a nightly because I can't find a new snapshot build or anything on CM so must've been a bug on their part
Thanks for the reply

So I've got the MTP fail thing.
I'm going to try and backup apps via Titanium backup but would wiping data (just incase I need to when installing new ROM) wipe my images, user files such as whatsapp images, videos, downloads?
Thanks
Would wiping data delete my whatsapp convos, images, camera images, videos, images etc?
And titanium backup files?

Yes, I have CWM. So the only thing that actually goes is my apps?
Hey,
I made a thread the other day about getting a good ROM because the others seem to die after 3 days. Does anyone have an idea of why this happens? I have tried 6 different ROMS in 4 days and they all the do the same thing; Apps won't open, phone constantly on boot logo, apps crash, phone freezes up, phone won't boot up.
The phone is around 4 weeks old with minimal wear.
I would appreciate all feedback.

That's my problem. When I did flash a custom ROM, they all froze, crashed, non responsive etc etc. So this has made me not want to flash a custom ROM, but I want to because of all the perks that come with flashing /:
You have maybe to update bootloader or modem or recovery before flashing. .
Give some details about your actual configuration and the rom you flash...

I had CWM 6.0.4.7 flashed and I tried Gooh S5+N4 ROM, S5 stock by Jamal, XNote, Omega and N9005 Dev Base (RC tea I think) and a couple others. When flashing, I did all the normal step, wiping cache, wiping data, dalvik when told and leaving the phone for 10 minutes after it boots.
Do you want any information about the actual phone?
You have N9005 international? ???you have flashed stock KK one time???your bootloader and modem version....
You have to factory reset during flash.......

Yes, I have the SM-N9005 LTE. I am now running Kitkat Official 4.4.2. Sorry, but I don't know how to see my bootloader/modem version.
I m running with stock recovery if that helps.

1. Reflash the stock ROM.
2. Root with CF Auto Root.
3. Flash this custom recovery: TWRP (better than CWM).
4. You can remove the bloatware (HERE) and enjoy the stock ROM.

Sorry but I don't like the custom Roms. It's coz they are constantly updating and fixing things, no coz they are bad. Every device don't answer in same way with same ROM either. It's only my opinion . Last choice is always yours.

no one would do that because it would also restore the personal data of the user
you can simply flash somboons stock rom (you can find it on xda with simple search)
also - you didn't specify which android stock rom version you want, lollipop or kitkat or jellybean? (somboons rom is lollipop)
I want the stock rom with android 4.4.2,because i want to sell the phone and the CyanogenMod 12.1 is not very good...
If somebody want to help me with backup, create a backup from his current rom with data, make a factory reset, create a backup from his factory reseted phone and upload/send me the backup after restoring the old backup.I think this method will work,if the factory reset not wipe the internal/external memory/otg(where you created the backups).

Is their anyway to revert back to stock eui rom? Either 18s or 19s?
I just want to go back to straight out of the rom for the Le pro 3 Us variant x727 currently on Cm.13
I had a backup on twrp but it went missing is no longer available.
Does anyone have stock rom download or a twrp backup they would share with me?
Currently have root amd twrp and know my way around things so no need for stepa by steps help. Just need a way to revert back.

I have the stock recovery file that you can flash, if you wont find it.

How did that go? If you got it working, do you mind if I ask how so I can do it as well?
Well first of all ot worked flawlessly. I have a stock eui backup 20's and a custom slim rom. Long story short.
Boot into twrp
Select your stock backup
Flash everything, Data, System, Boot
Clear dalvik/cache
Reboot system
Takes about a good 10 minutes to fully boot up
If you look in other threads their is a couple backups of the stock 20's that you can use.
Hello, I have a question, for restoring backup through TWRP. I have made a backup of NOUGAT on TWRP just before updating my phone to OREO. I'm now on latest Galaxy s8 firmware CRI5 running ALEXIS 5.7 ROM. I'm interested to restore my NOUGAT backup just to test it out again. Will it work to restore my old backup which would also downgrade the android version, or is it not possible after almost half a year has passed ?. Thanks for your time in advance.

Well, I tried going back, and everything restoring gone fine without any errors, only problem was that my phone gone in a bootloop, it just kept showing my old NOUGAT ROM booting animation for ever, so I had to go back to OREO. I don't know what exactly went wrong, maybe if I would have flashed any NOUGAT rom after restore it would have worked, however i didn't try doing that. Sad day.
