Hello everyone, I purchased this unit (VW submodel) few days ago. Picture attached.
it works great.
8"
pure android
1ghz cpu,
1gigs of ram,
4gigs of flash + microSD,
capacitive.
Does anybody have the unit with same chipset so we can exchange some info? For example, I can't find an entrance to hidden menu that was presented to me at first boot,
I don't know how to restart the unit, and I have a slight issue with car battery draining.
To be straight on topic, I have modified stock radio application to be more... ... presentable It was terrible, colors were out of this world
This unit came rooted. So I could easily replace the stock radio app.
If somebody needs it just let me know.
Now it looks like this:
Thanks!
Could you post a link to the stock radio app. I have the S150 Head unit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503964
Which has now been updated to Android 4.03 but the radio app is terrible!! Spirit Radio will not work either so would be nice to give yours a go on the off chance it is compatible.
Oh and to enter the "hidden menu" on the 2.3 Android S150 you dialled "*#98723" from the phone app. However this doesn't seem to be working after updationg to 4.03 but I'm going to post it on the S150 thread and see if anyone knows how to get into it so have a look there.

The pictures of the unit isn't enough to verify which model you have. The problem is that the faceplates are crossed used between several manufacturers. So, going by the picture alone is not enough to identify the unit.
If you already have the model check the "About this device" in Settings application is an easy way to identify your model. You can also run "cat /proc/cpuinfo" or "getprop ro.device.fingerprint" in either "adb shell" or a terminal app then check for the keywords below from the returned syntax. If it does not match any of them then post the output here.
A way to differentiate between the different Chinese Android head units is by the exact processor included:
Allwinner A10 (sun4i) 1.0 Ghz Cortex A8 Single Core processors in the TVBOX family.
Freescale i.MX535 (imx53_smd) 1.0 Ghz Cortex A8 Single Core processors are usually found units in the OUKU Unbranded family.
Mstar MST786 (cedric) 1.0 to 1.2 Ghz Cortex A9 Dual Core processors are found in the units in the AN-21U family.
Samsung S5PV210 (smdkv210) 1.0 Ghz Cortex A8 Single Core processors are found in the units in the S100/S150 family.
Samsung Exynos 4412 (smdk4x12) 1.7 GHz Quad Core processors are found in the units in the WD8801 family.
Telechips TCC8925 (m805s) 1.0 to 1.2 Ghz Dual Core processors are found in the units in the TCC8925 family.
While I do suspect you have the Allwinner A10 as noted by the title of the thread, you might want to verify it to make sure you can post in the correct thread.

I don't think it is compatible, it's a totally different system. I can't post outside links being a newbie, but drop me your email adress in PM.

Hello everyone, I also purchased a zx803 unit for toyota corolla model.
The same specs that stanjkof wrote.
I would like to exchange info and ideas to improve this unit.
Stanjkof, I dont know what hidden menu you say, I flashed firmwares several times and I never saw that menu.
If you dont have a little hole to reset unit, you can use any app to restart from google play.
Your radio app mod looks nice, well done!. Can you share it?

Hello, drop me an email in private message, I will send it to you via email (I still can't post external links here).
Are you satisfied with the unit? i guess they have some quirks but overall I like it.
I found that Poweramp is the best player for car unit regarding sound quality, album art and so on.

You have over ten posts now, so you should be able to post URLs. Besides, you could have encapsulated URLs with an underscore (_) in order to post links. For example, _http://www.google.com_ and it will bypass the forum's parser that checks and replaces it with a clickable link or prevents you from posting if you have < 10 posts.
On a sidenote is there anyone here that can do me a favor and please install Android System Info. Click on the "System" tab, click on the application (overflow) menu and export results to file. Go through it, its a simple html file in /mnt/sdcard directory and censor any information that want to hide like accounts names and SSID then upload it as an attachment. I'd like to open a dedicated Wiki page for this unit and that way you can have a place for FAQs and such.

Thanks for your app radio i will test soon.
Overall I like it too, but have a few problems that I think could be solved with an software update, for example:
switching sound beetwen radio and android sound is buggy in my unit, Bluetooht module is not visible for android, so you cannot use to connect with obd2 device.
I think stock player is the best option because other players take more time to launch and if you are driving, you need a very simple and direct interface.
Otherwise,I found default launcher slow and choppy so I installed holo launcher, it runs smoother than go launcher.
I'm looking for a minimal interface when I´m driving so I test some car dock apps and widgets. I am currently using Car Home Ultra, I use autostarter to run the app when android boot and I use also a volume schedule app so android volume is set at boot.

I hear that this radio is not compatible with cheap OBD2 adapters, people have purchased another bluetooth dongle to use with radio for OBD2.
(there is compatibility list somewhere) and than it works. And then there is another problem, you can't use USB hub to plug in multiple devices to USB, power is too low. So you have to use powered USB hub to have wifi adapter and bluetooth adapter plugged at the same time.
I haven't noticed bad transitions from FM to mp3.
Nice tip for autostarter app, I was looking something similar, thanks.
Poweramp is quite simple, it starts automatically if left working when you turned off the car. But the sound quality is far better-deeper (costs 4$ I believe, 0$ on torrents )
I use "Screen Dimmer" app (widget) to dimm the screen when driving at night.
As for launcher, I have swithched it to APEX launcher and looked no further. Fast, minimalist, customizeable...
My unit had NEXT launcher, and that was tacky overkill. I guess that is also GO launcher derivate.
I have slight problem - noticed that unit really never sleeps. I was poking around my cellphone and noticed it had automatically connected to car bluetooth. But car was locked and shut down in the garage!
So I tried another smartphone, and it also found car kit as active!
So today I have disabled that bluetooth service.
Do you also have some sort of "canbus service" active?

Screen dimmer app its a good idea, i will try it.
I didnt notice problems with sleep, i will test later, but perhaps you check bluetooth conection very soon, I think device is runing a few minutes after you remove car key to shutdown android.
I dont have any kind of "can bus service", I only have a configuration vehicle app, so i can configure stering wheel buttons and other stuff but nothing about canbus, maybe that is especific for VW.
P.D Sorry for my bad english....
As the title says, anyone with an octa core unit from InDashnet that can share, pictures, videos, info and toughts about this units?

Thanks CompletelyNumb,
before installing it, a shot from the front and the back, to see what butttons, dials have, and ports/connectors
I dont know if you can remove the top and keep the warranty, to take a shot of the SoM inside and check what oct core is, maybe know for a fact if it is the Allwinner A83T, what Bluetooth it have
Also whe you install it, please get some shots of the Android info, version, kernel, processor, the Bluetooth contacts/calling screens, and if you have access, the menu with the canbus settings/steering wheel controls
and the default music application and radio application
Thats lot, sorry
and thank you very much
Ditto - Is this really a funded project or are they getting Chinese units and branding them? No information is out there... The website is very limited.
Ditto. Currently working with them to get an Audi TT version. I am really stoked about the 10-15 sec startup time I keep hearing about but very few actual videos/reviews of this unit. I am also concerned about FM reception, screen brightness (last few android headunits had TERRIBLE washed out screens) and overall low voltage audio output quality (going to a DSP but still would prefer 4V minimum). PLEASE!! Anyone with the new Octacore whether it's 4.4 or 5.1, please share your thoughts.
I created new thread with all the questions and info that I've got directly from Thomas from InDashNet

A new unit was just released for the 2004-2008 Acura TSX, which is a first as removal of the stock radio removes the dual zone climate controls as well. This is an awesome surprise for the TSX community, as before we were stuck with a god awful replacement for the stock CC system if we wanted to use a double din.
Anyhow, I've reached out to E-Tong and a representative sent me some images of the About Device screen. I was hoping the community here might shed some information based on what little info I have.
This is the unit in particular:

Now I'm assuming this has an Intel Sofia 3GR, particularly the Atom x3-C3200RK, as no 3G connectivity is listed for the unit outside of "support 3G dongle". I'm basing this on the Mali-450, lack of native 3G support, and 3200 in "Machine Code Response". Other than that, I'm guessing.
Assuming I'm correct, would the Sofia 3GR with 1GB RAM on 6.0 be adequate for Pandora/Spotify and Waze? I have no real other desired usage outside of that and rare bluetooth calls, with maybe the exception of playing some movie files for my kids on long road trips via a USB drive.
If so, anything to be aware of up front? I'm assuming I should be prepared to remove the unit cover and add a heatsink and fan assembly to the SoC package already. Suggested mods or tweaks?
Any and all information appreciated. I'll be relaying this information to my TSX forums as well. Thanks everyone!
Anyone have any insight?
Hey there, i just bought a radio from aliexpress for my 2003-2007 honda accord and all my info lines up with yours. I was wondering if you found out any information on it? Do you know the firmware to use to update the MCU? Thanks!
** EDIT if you care still lol
Are unit is joying software. If you look on their forum you can find a screen shot that matches ours. I ran that update and ran the root for joying devices from here and it worked great. I got viper4android installed and got some custom mods installed and it's working great.

I am thinking of buying this unit, how is it in your TSX? I currently have a non-nav TSX so I don't know if I will need to mess with the wiring harness or not.
Any help?
I have the same unit, and the clock and GPS doesn't work anymore. I wanted to reset to factory or try and upgrade it. I have it in my TSX now.
Can you advise any suggestions or recommendations?
On every start up the time goes back to 2013, 11:00pm. The only way to fix it, is go find a wifi, since GPS doesnt work.
I tried contacting XEOWYN, with no luck. I regret buying this.

Might be a long shot, but I'm having issues with my unit and would like to try and update the firmware and/or software. I'm currently on android 6.0, been seeing the newer models are on android 8.1. I tried searching through the joying forum as you suggested with no success.... Is there any possible way that you could lead me to a specific solution? Thank you for your time and good day to you.
Got the same device, but still on Android 5.
Joying firmware gets looped on MCU update, if I remove the folder with MCUs and the update binary, it stops with "OTA package and app package need to be updated at the same time"
Any advice?
I cannot for the life of me figure out what type of head unit this is or it's manufacturer. In MCU version it says: 2018.05.29 18:59:52 KET_[R76DK3]__26_C26D_STM32_CAN(All)_AMP
Under build number I see px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.bsp.20181228.122841 test-keys
I am also wondering if this would be compatible with say Hal9k's ROM's as the current ROM is rather sluggish (despite having 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM). Any help would be amazing and if someone has any info on cross-compatibility with other MCU's that would also be cool. If not, I will be getting an MCU from manufacturer for backup and just try to flash other MCU's. Really wish I had bought a different HU now as this one seems like it's quite out of the ordinary. Only info I could find was on the russian 4pda forum and some french forum. Unfortunately I don't speak Russian and my French is rather bad, at best
Like I said, any help is appreciated. I've attached pictures from my "About machine" page but I've also written it here in plain text in case there are others searching for the same thing.
I would also like to add that my seller (on aliexpress) claims that this is a MTCE unit, yet it doesn't say MTCE anywhere in the MCU version. He also claims the manufacturer is AT (which I've never heard of and can't really find any information).
Like I said before, any info is appreciated.
Edit: This might be similar? https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...d-units/unable-to-identify-mcu-version-t39271
i have same problem. same mcu of mine, What did you end up doing?
I get one update today, i try it and later i will tell you
any update on this?
Any update? I don't have the same one, but I bought something that was supposed to be a MTCE device but isn't!
I am wondering if there's a way to tell if I took it apart, I can easily remove mine in my vehicle and if it would help I could take it apart but I would need to know what to look for to tell what type of head unit it is since the firmware / system info doesn't tell us anything.
I am having the same problems. I have the same hu and there is nothing. I contacted the vendor and they said that they will work with me but nothing from them so far.
Ever since I bought this head unit I cannot connect to a wi-fi and maintain in for more than 1-2 minutes. Also, the speed is too slow.
Before you ask, the wi-fi signal is strong, as even if I use my phone hotspot and position it right to the head unit it will disconnect after some minutes.
Please find the head unit specs attached.
Thank you for you help!
try asking the vendor to give you a firmware file/flash a new firmware. if theres no solution you might have to return it. maybe you can use usb tethering from your phone (if its android) to your head unit? it would eliminate speed problems and would be reliable, but it would still be nice to have working wifi.

I have exact this build number on my device... He must ask his seller to provide him a link to download update.
TSKJ.xxxxx are know to have bugs and it is not stable.
Best replacment is firmware by build number CHS.xxxx (ALPS device) or XRC.xxxx (XTRONS device - but works on other 8227L chipsets - tested)
i have an alps one, all works well. never tried an xtrons unit though. you can never really tell what your getting, as they all look the same up front. what i do know, is that the alps rom is really nice.

XTRONS UI is nice and fluent. I tried it and test it, it's better than CHS 8227L UI3 interface, one and only flaw is that sometimes when radio stations set are lost at next bootup.
Just went out today, needed another android system for a friend's car, went there and got the standard 8227l (2/16gb), though this one had a different type of firmware. It had customisable themes, and was runnign android 11. It also has picture in picture support for google maps, which i found to be a great feature. Not sure which ROM it is (as it isnt written), but the firmware was pretty nice, other than the fact that it does not have an "Apps" tab in th settings app, and there is seemingly no way to get developer options. Either way, first time I've seen android 11 on one of these head units (previous ones claimed to use android 10 but were actually running android 6+), and I have to admit that it was a great experience for the end user, as long as your not into rooting etc.
Look for this 8227L_8乐佳UI03-国外10_v63_20210726.zip
