[Q][SELF SOLVED] android.os.Build.MANUFACTURER is an empty String

Hello all programmers,
My app is supposed to display the device name so I used this to get the device name:-
Code:
String x = android.os.Build.MANUFACTURER + " " android.os.Build.MODEL;
x=x.toUpperCase();
TextView a = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.devicemodel);
a.setText("DEVICE:- " + x);
It works very well on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 and all my Xperia Phones too (even on the virtual emulator), but the only problem is with Samsung Galaxy Y phones. The String appears empty and all that is displayed is DEVICE:-
Any ideas why this is happening? I think that the build.prop doesn't contain these values or something like that.

i have two firmware for two Chinese tablets they have the same possessor ram all things is same ,just a camera and the screen is not the same ...
the first firmware (rom ) is good and much better than the original firmware for my android tablet .... and i try to install it and it s working well .. but i have two problems the camera and touch screen didn't work ....
so how can do to fix this problems .. ... what i should take from the original ROM to make it on the other ROM ?
or can you do it for me ?? i can send the two roms...
please tell me what i should do for any questions i am here to answer thanks ....

Solved it myself. The device name should have been set in onCreate instead of the menu inflating function.

Transparent Quick Panel Wave 525 under construction.. Help Required

Hello,
This is my first thread on XDA...
So please forgive me if I do a Noob Mistake.
I have designed a Quick Panel(QuickpanelBmp.rbm) For Wave 525
So I need to figure out some of things to make it completely transparent
halfway I m Done...
In the 4 attachments,
one is Quick panel look (20140520152255.jpg),
In the other image (Unknown.png) I have marked those two source images which I didn't found in Quickpanelbmp.rbm.....
Can Anyone Please tell me the location of those 2 images..
in which rbm file they are located..???
And I have Attached the Quickpanel.rbm in zip file with it...
If any Dev can help please come forward..
Please figure out those 2 files...
And in the fouth attachment (20140520203955.jpg)..
I tried to insert a transparent image on bluetooth icon by adding a qmg prepared with STD..
and inserting it with method 3 mask 0x00000000

I get a pink coloured image in quick panel..??
what could be the reason for this..??

A500FU - Keyboard Problem

Hi XDA, I installed the Samsung GS6 Keyboard, which is cleaner than the stock keyboard for our device. BUT, there is a problem with the emoji's, infact they are very small-sized..

Troubles with touch screen XT1572

Hello everyone, I commented that some time ago I started to miss the touch of xt1572 but only in the line below where is the square, the arrow and the circle , first began to fail until it suddenly stopped working , now surprises me is that when I use the touchscreen or any application that need to squeeze in that area works perfectly , which led me to suspect that problem is soft , not hard , I flashed with 5.1.1 ROM and followed with the problem , then with 6.0 and was the same, then went back to 5.1.1 . Now someone who knows more , I could tell that it could be ?. At the moment solve it or putting it on its side or the launcher bar when I get down under the window and return to the desktop. Anyone know if the launcher bar can add the three buttons ?. Sorry but my english is very bad. I used the google translator, I hope you can understand me. Thank you for reading this post

You could set your navigation bar height to 0, that will make the buttons disappear and use a slim pie control

Thank for reply my post. Can you help me with set my navigation bar height to 0?. I was looked for it in the net but I didnt understand nothing about it. I saw pure code in java I think, that I dont know where I have to put it. I try with xtended NavBar but it requiers Xposed framewok. It dont work on my phone

Thank for help me. I could fix it. I red some post from here XDA, I rooted my phone, and could install xposed for lollipop and after gravity box. A excellent app. I configured it and launch a pie. I dont know if it is the exact term in english. Thank Pymarid for help me. It is difficult understand my wrong english ja ja

happy you solved your problem by the way you can set the navbar height to 0 (if you havent already) by installing a module for xposed called 3 dot mod, just enable it

V8 Smart Watch

Hi,
I need some assistance. Is it possible to update software or something I can do to change the style of this" V8 Smart Watch"?
It has a MTK6261D processor. I've seen the watch running different looking "skins" almost. So there must be a way?
