I currently run PN rom and EX kernel.. To begin with, battery life was good, but over the past maybe week or so, it has deteriorated a lot. Can anyone suggest a good, stable set up to run? (One that you can vouch for and have run yourself) thank you.

Tried this... They said it doesn't work with PN though? Which version of the script did you run? Thanks

Hi there. There seems to be a number of tweaked ROM's for the Aria and unfortunately, I'm not tech savvy enough to understand the different kernels. From your personal experience, which ROM gave good battery life on the Aria?
I'm currently running CM7.0.0 and usually gets a day with normal usage. I'm willing to drop down to froyo if it means more battery life. Any input would be awesome.
if you use setcpu just flash my kernel as it has lower cpu speeds and no need for a screen off profile

Can you flash the kernel on any ROM? Do you lose any data? SetCPU bottoms out at 246 for me right now, but I know I've seen others here at lower. I'm running FR008.

Just because it's gingerbread doesn't make it awesome. Still has its downsides. 2.2.2 and fr008 have been so refined its stupid. I get the best battery life out of those. Setcpu with 2.2.2 gives me a warm sensation.
Sent from my HTC Aria using XDA App
CM7's battery life, when the GPS libraries aren't forcing the CPU to 100%, is good. A day or so. Maybe more.
2.2.2 is a little over a day on average, and CM6.1.1 can go up to as much as two days. So CM6 is the winner with battery life. But it's Froyo.
I'm getting two days with moderate usage with FR008...

By 2.2.2 do you mean Gene Poole's hfr003b? Do I just flash that as a ROM or are there other kernel or settings things I need to flash? There seems to be a lot of zips on his post. Sorry for my noobness

Flashing the ROM is enough. It comes with a kernel that will let you overclock only while you're using SetCPU. If you don't use that app it will run like a stock kernel and will give you great battery life. That's my choice and I'm happy with it.
Cool. Thanks everyone.
I tried some roms before. and G2 stock is pretty good with everything but the smoothness. And Mahdi is the smoothest one ive ever tried. But are there any options else? Any rom whose smoothness could be comparable with Mahdi?
Mahdi is a great rom but i don't have the battery life i used to have on G2 stock or Cloudy stock. But that if it's fast comes first to me. So , i'm here to ask for your help and hope you guys can give me some advice.
and what kernel do you use with Mahdi?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I've had great battery life on Vanir on my VS980. Runs smooth, too.

Stock and AOSP battery life aren't very compatible.
As far as kernel, try Render kernel. I used it on Mahdi and got 25 hours off one charge with 7 1/2 hours SOT. All stock settings.

Take in mind that everyone uses their device differently so that battery life isn't guaranteed if you use you phone very heavily. I will say my usage to get that was moderate to heavy.
I was wondering which rom has the best battery life. can anyone suggest to me a rom that has a good battery life? I'm still new to this so yeah I appreciate the help thanks!
CM13 is the best without tinkering with settings BUT it's up to you what you choose
Hydrogen OS, has the best battery performance that I seen until now. Great control over apps consumption and customisable.
I tired both cm13 and hydrogen apart from the stock oxygen os but I would suggest you to try Exodus 6.0 and I assure you'll never look back. have a good day.
Oxygen has best battery life
Oxygen and hydrogen right now.

Kingmercian (H2OS) gets me battery life that rivals what I had with SkyDragon (OOS) with the Boeffla Kernel. I haven't seen any need to try flashing any CM13 ROMs while I'm using Kingmercian as my daily driver.

Battery life depends on uses, it always different for different people. One rom can give 6hrs sot to someone and same rom can give other only 4 hrs.
So try various ROMs and tweaks for yourself and decide.
Btw i am on stock oos and i am quite happy with battery as i m getting approx. 6.5 hrs sot.
I'm using this one NXROM at the moment and I'm loving it. Smooth and great battery, but like @sushant6786 said. It all depends on apps you use, how you use your phone. What's great for me might be woirthless for you.
The best you can do is try different roms and feel for yourself. Try some that people recommend to you and make up your own mind
Good luck in your search for a rom that suits your need

I've done around 4 hours of SOT, but I haven't pushed it to see how much I could get. Still had juice left when I put it back in the charger.

NXROM is based on cm13 .. I have tested it and the battery is good but i had commom problems like in cm builds like wifi problems.
I have tested almost all the roms for our 1+2 and i can say that the best in battery with the same use are: h2os from kingmercians + skydragon v3.3 oxygen based (with boeffla kernel is better) and exodus rom. But where i got more sot was in h2os (5h30) with wifi always on and no powernap, amplify or grenify.

I can vouch for Kingmercian's H2OS as well, it's the definitely the clear winner (based on my daily usage). I ran Seraph's CM13 for a while but dropped it due to its heavy drain. As for LP-based ROMs, both OxySlim and Skydragon performed very well for me, at least when compared to stock.
Or is it best to just stick with stock kernel?
I'm on elemental kernel right now and honestly I feel I had better standby and all around better battery on stock.

You can flash through exkm in tools. A 9.0.7 rooted stock boot.img is in the forum somewhere. It will not wipe anything

I tried it and had very high standby drain with it. What is the point of a Kernel if not for better battery life? LOL
Battery life is subjective to personal usage if someone gets 10hrs sot + 1 day of standby doesn't mean you will get it, Best advice is to try different stuff and see which suits your needs.

But what do you mean by which one suits your needs? If a kernel has a good battery drain, everyone will appreciate it. Also are custom ROMS worth it these days?

I meant personal needs not every kernel is built with battery in mind some are performance others are just generic code compile with latest GCC and disable warnings... Not worth wasting time with but try them for yourself and see which you like best. Yes roms are worth it if the dev is optimizing for our SoC and not just cherry picking random sh!t.

Battery life is pretty subjective to personal use as previously mentioned, but i think there is another option in town. The Oneplus 6t MC Edition charger is the solution. I needed proof and YouTube got me the evidence. Check out the video by Dave Lee on Youtube. He does a test on it.
I second Smurf Kernel.
On average I get about 10 hours screen time over 2 or 3 days before I need to charge my phone again.

Hey guys,
I've ran this thing stock from day one. I've loved it, but the itch is coming back. I need mods. I need kernels. I need mo cowbell!
That being said, I think I'm still going to run stock for now. Anyone recommend a specific kernel? I've been looking at HolyDragon a lot. I'm looking for a bump in performance with a significant jump in battery life.
Also, anyone use that stereo speaker mod? How does that work for you guys on speaker phone calls?

You need to flash sky dragon ROM. Its made by the same dev who codes holy angel kernel and the kernel is included in the ROM. I can easily get over 8hrs of screen on time and the mods are pretty decent. I wish they included status bar and navbar colors on the mods but oh well. The ones they come with are enough to keep the phone looking fresh , especially the nifty built-in font changer. Trust me you won't regret it.

If you want great performance and battery life, check out the SkyDragon rom, it's got the HolyDragon kernel built in and I get 8-9 hours of SOT.
In my opinion I feel that Smurf Kernel ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/development/kernel-smurfkernel-2-0-49-t3868360 ) gives me the best battery life. I recommend this one to anyone with this phone.
I'm running stock rom with Omega Kernel. After calibration of a day or so battery life pushes me towards 8hrs of SOT with 42-46 hours of battery life.
