I've looked everywhere, both here and around the web, and haven't found any solid discussions about this, other than 1 short one on Reddit.
What is the current solution or progress on resolution for this?
I am trying to export a 240FPS slow-mo video I took on my Nexus 6P, with audio, and either completely normal throughout the entire video or with the selection of where I want it to be slow-mo. The most I've gotten was the ENTIRE video slow-mo, without audio.

I've been trying to find a solution to this as well. Seems to be a issue with the gallery software not exporting/saving the certain slow motion sections. Talked to Google but didn't get anywhere. Probably was talking to the wrong department. I can't seem to find the contact info for the camera app either.

I just mmade a test and was able to get 240 FPS exported - ran on my laptop, with full slow-mo and audio. Didn't do anything special - just connected the phone and played it.

No, like the others, it was full video slow motion. I even installed photos and tried to export, but that didn't work.
Well I exported it also to Dropbox, but it was the full video in slow-mo, with sound.

I also tried that as well. No luck. Think we just need to find an alternative camera or gallery app that will save the slow motion parts.
google klite codec pack, and the video will play just as it does on your 6P with Windows Media Player. Sometimes codecs are missing, and Klite has just about everyone under the sun. I use the mega pack. Cheers.
I was able to export a video with selected slow mo segments @240fps. After shooting the video I went to photos.Google.com and downloaded the video from there. I didn't think it was possible but was surprised by the result.

So far only way this has worked for me is to export the video to google photos first. This is the only place that reads the selected slo-mo parts correctly. I read somewhere that uploading to youtube also works similarly but never checked so can't say that it works 100%.
Can I ask how you make only a specific part slow-mo on the phone?

after taking the video play it and you should see a slider bar with 2 triangles above. The triangles signify the start and end of the slow mo segment. You can drag both triangles to adjust the length and desired segment of the video.

Thanks for all of the responses guys!
I have a 7 second video, that I recorded in 240FPS, and whenever I try to export to Google Photos, 1) there isn't an option to export to Google Photos, considering I'm in Google Photos to begin with. and 2) If I try exporting to YouTube, the preview of the video, before I even upload, is 50 seconds long, and entirely in Slow Mo, with audio.
I slid both triangle sliders to one side so the video is entirely at normal speed, yet whenever, and where ever i try to export, it's entirely Slow Mo.
What am I doing wrong or should I do differently?

This isn't an option, as there aren't any other third party camera apps that have the quality, after taking the photo (exposure adjustment mostly), or more importantly, 120\240 FPS support.
I've tried using ProShot, but that app doesn't support 120\240 FPS.
And I don't know of any other gallery app other than Google Photos to use that'll allow post manipulation like Google Photos.

Hello. I was wondeirng if anyone can recommend a good youtube program besides youtubeplay? youtubeplay is ok, but It doesnt let you list by date or relivance or whatever. Also, is there any program that plays or downloads veoh.com videos? Thanks
The best way to play ANY streaming media site on a win mo smartphone imho, is the skyfire webbrowser:
http://www.skyfire.com
use phelps8 to get an instant download.
Any streaming media site I've used works awesome with skyfire. Takes some getting used to. check the forums for details. But sites like hulu.com work AWESOME with it for watching full episodes or movies..
mycast.orb.com when set to stream in flash will open right in the browser too which is incredible for streaming off a home PC...
break.com,youtube.com,stupidvideos.com etc etc all work great.
I use CorePlayer and it works great
Skyfire works awsome!! feels like im on a PC viewing the many video streaming sites..only one that doesnt seem to work is veoh..doesnt load the videos
YouTubeplay
CorePlayer has a YouTube quick-button, with several quick choices, like "Most popular" and "most linked to." But beware: The program can hang your 6800 if you go full-screen, requiring a soft-reset.
I've read great things about the new multimedia player with the Japanese-sounding name (K-something?); can't think of it now. It was designed for rich Web content from the ground up.
Kinoma ?
Kinoma
That's it: Kinoma.
Thanks to this thread, I installed YouTubePlay. It works flawlessly; rotation and full-screen toggling cause no freezes. I'll still use CorePlayer for music. Mostly, I watch downloaded TV shows. For that, I prefer Windows Media Player because I've installed a plug-in that lets it remember where I left off...just as my Audible Player does for books I've bought at Audible.com.

I think it operates better in full screen mode as well.
youtubeplay plays the lower quality youtube streams, that's why it works "good". The quality is poor.

well, if you watching it on your phone's bandwidth, you might not want to wait for a high quality file to stream over evdo, or use the extra data if you don't have an unlimited plan.
Skyfire plays embedded flash videos pretty well, but its at around 15 frames per second, so its not as smooth as watching it at home, or downloading it first.
TCPMP with the flashVideoBundle.cab installed works well with pocket IE and will give you the option of downloading the video to your phone (so you can watch it later), or streaming it right on the spot (after a short buffer), which works pretty well.

you can't use it without an account for the love of god. A .cab isn't going too help you. diaf.
Make sure to read the Wiki on Video Playback basics (credit to Chris Cross) here.
EDIT: My final conclusion on video issue here.
OK everyone, we've takin' it to another level. Follow this thread for the real HD experience.
Video playback on Blackstone (as well as on other Mobile devices in general) depends pretty much on many factors:
1. Video Format and Container
2. Video Bitrate
3. Audio Bitrate
4. Combined (general file) Bitrate
5. Video size
6. Processor speed
7. Video acceleration
8. Device/Internal/SD Card Storage speed
Doing some thinking about each of the points above will take you to a conclusion which will give most of you the answer as to why Blackstone (or any other Mobile device) will not - by far - play back video files that your PC or Notebook can (Hint: think about Processor, RAM and Disk Access) and as to why is conversion needed.
We can't really do pretty much with the Processor speed and Video acceleration (well, we aren't talking about overclocking here and we aren't referring to the so much discussed driver issue either), but can tweak Video Format and Container, Video/Audio/Combined Bitrate and Device/Internal/SD Card Storage speed.
1. Video Format and Container
This section refers to what type of video file is generated via conversion (Hint: AVI, MPG, 3GP, etc.) and what codec is used inside that file (Divx, Xvid, FLV, etc.).
Here's a small hint to let you see the differences between these.

* Benchmark has been done on the same file, converted at same audio and video bitrate, but save to different formats and container. Coreplayer was used for both Benchmark and Playback. SUPER video converter, which is a free and fantastic all in one video conversion solution, was used to convert video files.
We obviously see that AVI format/container with FLV codec is a winner here. We also notice the difference in playback as to SD Card playback is generally slower than Internal Storage playback (we will discuss this at point 7.)
2, 3 and 4. Video/Audio/Combined (general) Bitrate
As you can see in the same chart, playing with the Bitrate offers different results. That is, lowering the bitrate will get you higher benchmark results simply because the amount of data that needs to be processed is less.
5. Video Size
Video size refers to the dimensions of the video canvas, the resolution if you want. Lowering the resolution will also give you better benchmark results. The explanation is the same, the amount of data that needs to be processed is less.
6. Processor speed
Not discussed
7. Video acceleration
Not discussed
8. Device/Internal/SD Card Storage Speed
Fire up your favorite system benchmark application (i.e.: SKTools) and run a benchmark on Device Storage and one on SD Card. You will obviously see that Device Storage is way faster (like more than 3 times faster) than SD Storage. "What the...? I have a Class 6 SDHC Card?" Yes you do! There are also Operating System drivers for that. The thing is, the Operating System is not configured properly to take advantage of that.
Solution: Download my attached cab, install to Device, Soft Reset, run your benchmark again! What do you see?
CONCLUSION:
Taking all these into consideration, after alot of cigarettes and beer spent in front of the PC and my Blackstone, I've came up that the perfect solution for video playback on Blackstone (probably other devices too) is: FLV format in AVI container at 560x304 resolution, encoded at 1200 kbps video and 128 kbps audio. That generates a Combined Bitrate of 1328 kbps. You can probably go even higher, as to 1500 kbps video and keep 128 kbps audio, having a General Bitrate of 1628 kbps. Should be no problem after my SD TuneUp cab, but I personally consider such high video bitrates a waste of space.
I found that going beyond 1200 kbps video has no impact on quality, 1200 kbps reached maximum, but this may depend on your file and your needs.
So, short story:
Code:
FLV @ 560x304 pix. @ 1200 kbps video & 128 kbps audio
You can play a little bit with resolution and bitrate, but keep it around there.
Having installed my SD TuneUp cab and using the settings I recommend, you will get fantastic video playback experience on Blackstone in any Media Player (yes, classic Windwso Media Player and HTC Album too).
I upped a converted HDTV trailer here (scores around 120%) and another one here. Go play!
EDIT: My final conclusion on video issue here.
When I'm more awake (or maybe just a tad more experienced in these things!), I'm sure that will actually make a lot of sense!
(please note - this is down to my lack of understanding, not the way you're explained it!)
Many thanks!
Sounds good but I am allready playing Avi, dix, xvid kinda movies straight from torrent sites, I just download the 700mb divx files which are: 564x308 25fps mpeg-4 video they gave me a benchmark of 102.59%
For me its perfect no more converting or anything.
But keep up the good work, I appreciate it a lot !

Well, my post referrs to HD files, which are either HD720 or HD1080.
The downloaded files already are converted, so no need for that, Blackstone plays them back just fine!
P.S.: Watch for piracy issues! There are copyrights!
I mean kitesurfing videos and other sport videos

So is your tweak a general tune up for any data moving from (to?) SD card or is it only a video tweak?

Just download the file to your device, launch it from File Explorer, install it to Device and soft reset.
Just wanted to say thanks for the solution, just tried it with a few HD movies I had, end result is fantastic.
What audio codec would you suggest? Does it matter? I went with mp3 and strangle ended up with reduced volume.
tnyynt; Big thanks for the great topicstart and the speedup cab!
I just benchmarked a moviefile before installing the cab; 97.53% speed, after installing the cab(and softresetting afterwards); 97.58%... Maybe the file was already read fast enough before benchmarking.
The FLV encoding looks like the best option now, thanks for posting the benchmarks, this really makes clear which format we need to use if we want to encode a file.
What does the tuneup cab actually do? Is it a cache optimisation or something else?

Hi guys, I've recorded a 30min mp4 video with my HD2 but it seems that the file is somehow corrupt, the video start playing but after some mins the image freeze (the sound is still there...). Also on my computer I'm not able to play the file.
Does anyone had problems with mp4 files recorded on their phones and was able to fix/repair the files ?
Thanks.
Same happens for me (VGA 640x480, mp4), the files aren't playable neither on HD2 nor on PC.
Tried already some PC programs like All Media Fixer, but without success.
Anybody a hint what I can try to fix the mp4-files?

Please, has anybody got the solution to recover mp4 video? My video is very important, any help ll be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Didi you record this video in android? In the camcorder settings, was it in 720p (1280x720)? If so then yeah, you can expect so, the HD2 can't record in HD, atleast, not yet.
nope, done in windows mobile..
Hi! I've got the same problem.I've tried several programs and don't work for me...
This is a very-very important video.Larger than 300mb.
Is there a solution???
Please!!!!!! :-(
Is there any solution yet?
I have the same problem on my HD2 Windows Mobile.
There is a solution, I fixed 4 damaged MP4 files (sizes from 80MB to 225MB) from my HD2 (flat battery does it every time) only problem is I don't know what I did, damaged files where from sept 2010 and it took me until April to find a solution and fix, it was a free downloaded software and it worked every time, got sound and video working. I'll scour my pc and bookmarks and report back with hopefully some good news....
Desperately need a solution to this too!
Have googled and tried a number of solutions with at best only partial success, will be very grateful if someone can solve this!
Okay guys, found the software I used, it was downloaded from
http://www.grauonline.de/cmsimple2_6/en/?Solutions:HD_Video_Repair_Utility
It was Freeware and had a "SAY THANKYOU BUTTON" included, not so anymore, that button has been replaced with "PURCHASE UNLOCK CODE"
I'm using version 1.5 from April 2011 and the latest is 1.61
Just ran it again on the damaged 225MB damaged MP4 file from my HTC HD2 and once again it recovered without a hitch. Attached is a picture of the settings I used.
Version 1.61 demo will allow you to test the software before paying a hefty 99 euro for unlimited use or 29 euro for 5 repairs OUCH!!!!

The green / blurry video is a horrible bug in the camcorder on windows mobile, you do not even know the video is corrupted until you stop the recording and play it back.
Fortunately it does not happen on android. I have a few videos from before I switched to android that I wanna try and repair with some of these suggestions.
Update: Thanks quangy, the program does seem to repair the green blurry videos. Too bad it only does half the video unless you buy the full version. At least we may have a solution now.
No problem, glad it works. All my corrupt videos where from battery dying and none would show any signs of playing so it's satisfying that the software also sorts out other problems.
Would love to post V1.5 which was freeware and thus no half repair issues. Need advice if I am allowed to do this and how to do it.
Not sure what improvements that v1.61 has over v1.5, maybe more devices supported, my version behaves and looks the same.
Anyone else tried the software yet?????

Any help please
sorry i couldn't understand anyhtings from the pics you have posted. I understand that you want all your videos in one player automatically.
Give mx video player a try. Its better than than the default in may ways. While opening the video you will get an options saying "just once/always". Select always and then choose mx player. See if it fixes your issue.

The Facebook application now supports video playback in the timeline,so it has its own Facebook player and will not use other, however the videos in the Newsfeed can still use third pary players.

Thanks @Cloudyfa for such a wonderful port.
However, I am not able to find how to shoot slow motion videos in stock g3 camera app although the Opening thread mentions about slow motion video being enabled. Please help.

Launch camera, go into video mode, enter settings (gear icon), choose Video Size.
To play back in slow-mo, start the video then hit the menu button and choose Play Speed.
Thanks a lot. Somehow missed it.

Also, image quality and video quality is better under CloudyG3 which is an amazing things, seems like LG did a better job with software in G3 Camera
That's hardly slow mo you're just slowing the video down, you can slow it down in 1080p and uhd, i thought we would have the proper slow mo that's slow from pressing play .
Cloudy flex has proper slow motion without having to mess about with playback speeds. ?

Slow motion just records at higher frames per second. To get slow playback on pc you could use a player that supports changing playback speed (most do) or use editing or multiplexing software to set the framerate lower. 24fps (or 23.976) is a commonly used framerate and slows down 120fps or even 60fps pretty nicely. There are also some android apps that will slow down videos or parts of them and let you save them. ReAction is one I've used.

For me works like a charm the xdabbeb camera app XCam vLG 5.1.2, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548974
I download the app, copy and past to system/app, set r/w/w permission, and reboot the device. Just in my opinion, the best camera for this rom.

Maybe you already solved this question, but maybe Others may need the answer.
You need to open the video with the default video player, then pause the video and click on the setting icon, here you will find the "setting" entry, click on it and in the window that will appear, choose "play speed" and then "yes".
Now, go back to the video, and you will see the settings to slow the video on the right while playing.
Hope this can help.

You need to play the video, and while playing there you will have the option.
To keep it on slowmo , you need to export the video with an app like androvid pro , and select slowmo in effectos, and put it at 0.20 X
