Give mx video player a try. Its better than than the default in may ways. While opening the video you will get an options saying "just once/always". Select always and then choose mx player. See if it fixes your issue.

go to app manager in setting and clear defaults for all the video players installed. See if it works..

The Facebook application now supports video playback in the timeline,so it has its own Facebook player and will not use other, however the videos in the Newsfeed can still use third pary players.

strange file... even vlc cant open it...
try to convert it or make a screenshot & mp3 cause video is same all the time
Thanks someone tried to play it please keep trying to help me.
My i760 came with a small wav player that will pop up in Total Commander (or any file explorer) and play the file. I hear there are some "search" options available if I'm not mistaken HINT! HINT!
It is encoded with the latest WMV9 codec, you won't be able to play this on anything but Windows Media Player 10 or later.... NO PPC player will play it without conversion.... not even CorePlayer (it only supports upto WMV8)
If you really must get it playing on PPC go get a video converter and put it into a useful format like mpg or h264.

if it works on pc windows media player, have u tried using windows movie maker/ windows media encoder to transfer to your phone, works for me
Oh, I see what you guys are saying... It is a *.wmv file!
Sorry, I only meant the audio part, not the video.
But i need video specially.
This should work on your phone. It worked on mine.

I didn't mean for the file size to increase so much, but I wasn't sure what sort of codecs a PPC could handle. I tried a newer Xvid codec at first, and it didn't work. So I reverted to a PPC-specfic AVI container with a generic MPEG4 codec. Hopefully you have 5MB of free space somewhere.

I used SUPER.
The download process is a bit of a pain in the butt because they hide everything beneath gigantic walls of text.
1. Go here: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Down
2. Click the link that says, "Start Downloading SUPER ©"
3. Click the link that says, "download and use"
4. Click the down arrow (
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

), or just scroll to the bottom.
5. Click the link that says, "Download SUPER © setup file"
I know it's a ridiculous navigation process, but that's what they make you do. In exchange, you get a free program that does a decent job with converting files. Just toy with it. Test it on some small video files and see what looks best for you.

Great Site For FLV Videos - Movies, TV Shows, Sports

I just found out about this site a few days ago. It's a lot like the old TV Links site. What's really good about it is that all the videos are FLV files, so you can download them and play them with TCMP.
Have fun.
www.surfthechannel.com
how do you download the flv file
Yeah, how do we grab and download the movie file?
Once, they created a site called www.google.com !! (joke)
It's the same protocol as Youtube
I use Orbit Downloader (Grab++ plugin) to download FLVs and other media from sites
But this site doesn't work on our PDAs, except if we have the new Skyfire browser.
?
if we dont have the skyfire browser on our devices is/are there any other sites out there tht allow us to view movies and tv shows like this one on phones...?

Don't think there is yet other than using tcmp with the flv pugin to watch stuff like youtube. Can't wait for skyfire supposidly it even works on hulu.com.
SKYFIRE ONLY
I'm dead waiting for this one to be released, as I didn't get my beta.
Not true. I can watch FLVs using Opera and flash player 7. You have to go to settings and choose Identify as a desktop computer.

I use Realplayer to download the FLVs on my desktop and transfer them to my Tilt.
There are several Firefox extensions that allow you to download FLV files.

We know this, and you obviously haven't been/tried to download from this site either from your PDA or PC else you'd notice what we're all saying here...YouTube, MegaVideo etc and all those other great video sites all give an "info/more info" menu from which you can "grab" the download link for the video you want...this site does not.
Surfthechannel is really a good site. I had tried this site. But I think I have a wonderful site which is much better then this site and I always Watch TV Shows on otavo.tv.

Best Youtube Program?

Hello. I was wondeirng if anyone can recommend a good youtube program besides youtubeplay? youtubeplay is ok, but It doesnt let you list by date or relivance or whatever. Also, is there any program that plays or downloads veoh.com videos? Thanks
The best way to play ANY streaming media site on a win mo smartphone imho, is the skyfire webbrowser:
http://www.skyfire.com
use phelps8 to get an instant download.
Any streaming media site I've used works awesome with skyfire. Takes some getting used to. check the forums for details. But sites like hulu.com work AWESOME with it for watching full episodes or movies..
mycast.orb.com when set to stream in flash will open right in the browser too which is incredible for streaming off a home PC...
break.com,youtube.com,stupidvideos.com etc etc all work great.
I use CorePlayer and it works great
Skyfire works awsome!! feels like im on a PC viewing the many video streaming sites..only one that doesnt seem to work is veoh..doesnt load the videos
YouTubeplay
CorePlayer has a YouTube quick-button, with several quick choices, like "Most popular" and "most linked to." But beware: The program can hang your 6800 if you go full-screen, requiring a soft-reset.
I've read great things about the new multimedia player with the Japanese-sounding name (K-something?); can't think of it now. It was designed for rich Web content from the ground up.
Kinoma ?
Kinoma
That's it: Kinoma.
Thanks to this thread, I installed YouTubePlay. It works flawlessly; rotation and full-screen toggling cause no freezes. I'll still use CorePlayer for music. Mostly, I watch downloaded TV shows. For that, I prefer Windows Media Player because I've installed a plug-in that lets it remember where I left off...just as my Audible Player does for books I've bought at Audible.com.

I think it operates better in full screen mode as well.
youtubeplay plays the lower quality youtube streams, that's why it works "good". The quality is poor.

well, if you watching it on your phone's bandwidth, you might not want to wait for a high quality file to stream over evdo, or use the extra data if you don't have an unlimited plan.
Skyfire plays embedded flash videos pretty well, but its at around 15 frames per second, so its not as smooth as watching it at home, or downloading it first.
TCPMP with the flashVideoBundle.cab installed works well with pocket IE and will give you the option of downloading the video to your phone (so you can watch it later), or streaming it right on the spot (after a short buffer), which works pretty well.

Where are multi-format Video Players? Core? mVideoPlayer? BluMedialab Media Player?

Quite simply, I've wanted to play my downloaded itunes TV shows, which are in .m4v format. Searched high and low. I'm not a developer, just a savvy end user, but I was surprised at how few offerings exist for multi-format video players on Android.
Here's what I've found so far. What am I missing?
1. BluMedialab.com 's Media Player v 1.6 - costs approx $3.50 USD - claims to play .m4v files. I bought it, it doesn't. Uninstalled and got refund.
The player that plays more media on your DROID then other apps: from your SD Card or streaming from web.
SD card: WMA, MP3, MP4, M4V, (small!) WMV, MID, 3GP (some)
Streaming: WMV, M4V, MP4 (also non-progeressive!)
Has a built-in SDcard browser, video RSS reader and webbrowser with Google search.

They say their new TRIAL version is more advanced... So why they continue to sell any version at all is beyond me. But they do. This should be highly discouraged in my view. The moment it's clear an app doesn't perform as advertised, to sell it in the store is morally wrong, and I think such app developers should be economically punished by horrible reviews, and hammered with email til they take down their pay versions. It's ridiculous.
Here is their Trial Version Media Player v 2.2
FIXED crashing!. Please upgrade and update your reviews!
Plays media from your SD Card or streaming from web.
SD card: WMA, MP3, MP4, M4V, (small!) WMV, MID, 3GP(some)

2. Core Player is coming, so they say: from Aug 2009:
While Android works great for many apps.... its A/V system designed by PacketVideo is far from robust enough to add onto no less use. David Turner one of the lead Android Devs even noted last week that there are major changes coming this way with each SDK/NDK release as it relates to multimedia, quoting: "(and believe me the graphics and media frameworks are under extensive changes at the moment, and will keep doing so for quite a number of upcoming releases)".

I found this, Act 1 Video Player at hyperaware.com, and they say:
December 1, 2009 - There is a new version of the app called "Act 1 Video Player for And 1.5" which is intended for the Motorola Cliq and HTC Hero because they are currently stuck at Android 1.5. This version is equivalent to the old 1.13 version of the app and will receive no future upgrades, HOWEVER, you can feel confident purchasing this app because we will be issuing discounts to the latest version of the app when your phone's Android OS ugrades. When this happens, go ahead and purchase Act 1 Video Player then contact us with your Google Checkout order numbers for both "Act 1 Video Player" and "Act 1 Video Player for And 1.5". We will manually refund the difference in price between them.

The comments from the Core Codec site explain why multi-format video players are not prevalent yet for Android. I have to say, really? After a whole year, and Google can't enrich their OS to play videos properly?
Someone please enlighten me. Where's that great app I am missing?

[Q] Can someone explain this flash/video issue?

Ok. So I know that KitKat is not supposed to play Flash normally.
My wife just got the S5 and I got the M8.
She's pregnant and has this app from the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.babycenter.pregnancytracker&hl=en
On our old D2s, the videos in this app played fine.
When she attempts to play the videos from her new app on the S5, the majority of them play sound but show no video.
We tried to play from the chrome browser this video which is also in their app:
http://www.babycenter.com/2_inside-pregnancy-weeks-21-to-27_10312242.bc
It also fails to play video.
Now this is the strange part. They play on my M8 perfectly fine - both from within the app and from Chrome.
We both are on 4.4.2 stock ROMs.
So I'm confused because I thought the S5 was meant to be the "it" phone for screen/camera/etc... I don't understand.
If these videos were being rendered as flash, then they shouldn't play on either of our phones...so I'm guessing they are not flash, and since we are getting audio and not video, there is something up with the video drivers?
Any advice would be appreciated - my wife is bummed out not just because she can't watch these videos, but because my phone works and hers doesn't!

Having a great screen and camera really isn't related in this context. I didn't try the app, but just loaded the link about in the Chrome Beta launcher and the video displayed and played just fine.

Well having a great screen among other things would usually attract people who like to consume media on their device. So it would make sense that the phone was optimized for consuming video.
Thanks for trying...but I just downloaded the Chrome Beta and have the same issue - sound, but no video (just white where the video should be).
Nothing really has been done to this phone other than basic setup - so I don't understand why it wouldn't be playing.
When viewing this page in IE on my computer I get the error that flash is not installed....so this video is apparently Flash. If that's the case, why would it work at all since the device is not meant to play flash?
I installed a program from the store called FlashFox which *did* render the video as if it were on the computer (including advertisement, which doesn't play on my M8).
Have you tried installing flash for android 4.0+
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk
A lot of websites' flash players load properly for me with this, but not all do. I use the mobile firefox browser btw.
