Hi all,
Wondered if anyone has had a similar issue.
I have bought an orange spv m700, and had 2 issues with the screen.
Bought the phone on Friday morning, by Friday evening the screen had a bubble under the surface. I took the phone back and got an immediate replacement.
I have had the replacement phone for 6 days now, and the bubble came back. and without me noticing it the screen has cracked.
First question: is the top layer just a sheet of clear plastic that can be replaced?
Second: has anyone else seen the bubbles appear?
Third: why has the screen cracked so easy, I was really taking care of it (my xda2 was fine for 3 years)
Sorry for such a long post, other than the screen this device is a brilliant piece of kit !
I have only had my trinity for two weeks and tonight the exact same thing has happened. My touchscreen no longer functions properly.
I'm taking it back tomorrow, I hope they replace it. This has occured while the phone was in my pocket (wrapped in a cloth).
I have had mine for about a month now and nothing has gone wrong with it at all.
I am pretty sure the trinity has the same screen as the hermes and i havent had any probs with that either.
I took it back to the the three store and they replaced it. I am happy now.
Going to use the leather case at all times from now on...
Alright,I got the new Note 3 and it came with an S view cover. The cover is 100% genuine from Samsung. The cover works perfectly fine when I got it.Then I was notified for a recent software update,so I did install it.But after rebooting, the cover does not work anymore. The S View window does not show up.Tried the settings, reinstalled the cover but still doesn't work.Any help?
My phone is the N9005 4G LTE model.
Hello all,
So, ever since I updated to 4.4.2 KitKat a few months ago my phone would randomly restart 1 out of 2 times when opening the S-View flip cover.... A few moments after locking the screen when PowerAmp was playing, or if a WhatsApp message was received when the screen was asleep... This could also be reproduced simply by being on a call for longer than a minute..
As you can imagine I grew desperate, full TitaniumBackup followed by a wipe of the phone and restoring apps one by one ended up with the same results (Unless I started in Safe mode that is....) I considered going back or trying third party firmware.. But alas, Knox bootloader scares me of bricking my device.
One day however, after being accustomed to this attitude from my phone I removed the S-View flip cover to clean it, and to my surprise.... The phone has been working flawlessly for 24 hours, I've tried all the things that could cause it to restart before (Except unlocking by opening the S-View, obviously as it's not on the device...) And it's rock solid stable...
My conclusion: The S-View flip cover (100% original I dare say, bought it with the phone...) is problematic from KitKat onwards, or at least it is on my phone....
I have searched and searched and found nothing relevant (most posts relating to the S-View issues talk about the Note 3); but alas maybe someone else has had this problem or heard of something similar...
Any feedback?
Thanks
Hey guys, I've been trying for a while now, and have only found dead ends.
I purchased a Spigen Slim Armor View for my new S5, not realizing that their functionality had been changed since the S4.
Having easily realized that all the 3rd party apps I can find for "fake" S-views are god-awful. I started looking for a solution to bypass the check for an S-view chip, and force S-view mode on bootup. My phone is rooted, and I do have xposed frameworks, but every mod I try just doesn't work. Does anyone have any solutions? I'd rather not have to settle for the awful apps, or have to buy an authentic case/chip to physically mod my case.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated guys!
Tried a couple more scripts and kernels last night... Still no luck.
I'm hoping someone here has a solution!
Sort of in the same situation
I just bought the IC chip from aliexpress, 5$ for 2 and got a screen protector
After installing and inserting a small magnet from the headphones on the lower left of the spigen s-view case, the phone now recognizes this and forces the phone to show the s-view display
the only issue i have now is that the view in the spigen is smaller than the offical samsung s-view case, hence the camera and answering a call is cut off
is there anyway to mod the s-view window on the phone to make it smaller?
Hey a quick question- I have an AT&T note 3 and the spigen slim armor view case. Whenever i wake the phone with the cover on, it shows the normal lock screen, not the s view. This happens only after the screen has been off for a minute or two. Any help? Running a Note 4 4.4.4 port btw if that helps any. Could it be rom related?

This happened to me too with my Note 3 N9005. The problem is that new firmwares for Samsung devices don't allow cases that aren't original for that phones. You will have to change of case or buy one original if you want that your S-VIEW works again.
