Hi,
I have one major issue with my N6P, the in-call volume is way too low... I can barely hold a conversation in the street or in the tube.
I didn't have this problem with my nexus 5.
I'd this a common issue ?
Any idea how I could boost the in-call sound ?
I'm on stock 6.0 rooted with xposed

Ya I had the same issue even my voice couldn't be heard clearly on the other side. Updating to 6.0.1 solved it for me at least. try updating.

Does somebody know if there is a way to further increase the speaker volume?

and both settings are turned all the way up!

?? weird it boosted Mine by about 20% with no negative effect on playback at all.
I've noticed the same. Notification volume is rather low, as well as media playback on the speaker phone.

+1. I love this phone but the low notification volume might actually be a deal-breaker for me. For my job, i sometimes rely on important texts to wake me up and the volume doesn't seem to be sufficient for that.
You can try changing the Audio Gain from the Audio menu in debug mode.
From the dialer, enter *#*#197328640#*#*
The above doesn't work. It works for the galaxy s2 but not on the note when trying to increase the audio section.

I found accessing ringer volumes and other system volumes to be easy with a app called quicker and volume is helped by an app called AnEq Equalizer both of which you can get on the android market. Quicker let you do so many different things, so easily I can't live without it. an eq equalizer loads itself into memory so it amplifies system as well as music.
It has nothing to do with settings or with the hardware, it's just a (IMO stupid) choice by Samsung. I solved this problem using the exact same ringtones and notifications from my old Galaxy S and SII (found in the folder system/media IIRC) instead of the ones on the Note which are "recorded" at a lower volume.
Once you do that notifications are actually a bit higher than on the GS/GS2!
It also seems that on the new official ROM just out (which I have yet to install) they have put louder notifications.
work audioboost SGS2 with root
There MUST be a decent equalizer that works which should increase the overall volume of the the phone?
Anyone know of any equalizer, a proper one that is that goes from say 30hz-16khz and with an amplifier to amplify the volume?
This way all the sound would be louder, ringtones, alerts/notifications, media playback, etc...
I'm currently using Volume+ which slightly helps but as someone mentioned the gain is very minimal...

Does this equalizer also increase video playback volume, say from MX Video Player?
When watching movies/videos the volume is extremely low even when maxed out.
What about ringtones/notification sounds? Thanks Dennis.

Ok! It works. Thanks. But if up increase too much the volume you have noise. I have set it up to 78%, which is just a bit louder than the speaker original volume but there is no noise.
--------- update
I have unistalled it. Even if it boost the volume, the sound quality is very poor...

I found an alternative sound booster and can confirm it boosts ALL sound including notifications/ring tones, music and even sound from movies, basically any sound is increased!
It's a great app, best of all it doesn't need root.

Impossible, it must make a difference, you must be doing something wrong or missed something...
Here are the settings I use, try the same and I can guarantee there will be a difference in all sound, whether it be music, movies, ring/notification tones, etc...
Even when playing Angry Birds the sound is FAR louder, I'm not joking but even when playing Angry Birds on volume 2 or 3/10 it's loud enough...
Try these:
1 - Launch the App & goto Equalizer - Custom
2 - Leave 60Hz but increase everything else to 90%
3 - Last setting, on the top right hand corner, you will see a power icon next to the settings, check this, make sure it's on otherwise the equalizer will not even be turned on.
4 - Enjoy!
guys, i see many kernel faux123 sound control. What would be the real advantage of it? Just increase the volume?

It allows you to adjust audio gain and mic gain I think (Not sure about the mic). This allows you to get cleaner audio output out of the headphone jack. I'm not sure what else it does besides that and volume boost, I have not tried it myself.
EDIT: I just tried using it and it's amazing. Audio is louder, much clearer, and generally awesome. It does work with the mic too. The improvements in audio quality are stunning, I don't know how to describe how big the difference was for me. I use Shure SE215 IEMs with my Nexus 4, and it sounds better then anything I have plugged them into now, whereas before my Surface outputted far better audio IMO.
Does anyone of you knows how to ring tones louder on Note 2 with OmniRom ? On the stock android for Note 2 sound is much louder. Too quiet tones, weak sound while listening to music from a speaker phone and a weak sound while watching videos from youtube. A similar situation was in the case of Cyanogenood. The most annoys me is the fact that the alarm is too quiet and i so overslept to work. Do any of you know how to Turn up the volume sound in this rom ?
Look for Boeffla Sound Control in Play Store. This app allows you to tweak a lot of sound related settings, including boosting volume levels.

Good Morning my XDA homies! I have a quick, and hopefully easy question for you all. The front facing speakers on my Nexus 6P aren't horrible, but I was wondering what the best Mod would be to make it louder and maintain clean sound? Their are a lot of sound Mods out there, not sure which are working for the Nexus 6P and which might be the best! I don't often play with the various settings, so, I was hoping to find something simple that'd just boost the front speakers, generally speaking. Thank you all for your time and help!
This thing is like a portable boom box. I'd be scared to blow the speakers if they got any louder than stock!

Exactly lol! The difference between 8th and 15th level is just wow....
I was mostly thinking of something that'd ever so slightly, boost how clear the sound is and make it a little louder. But most enhance the sound when I plug it into my car. HTC used to have something that you could just flip on and your done. Equalizers confused me a lot, so I was just hoping the Nexus 6p had an easy solution
Viper Audio.

Can Viper increase the speaker volume during phone calls ? I find the sound much too low during phone calls with my N6P.

Well you can Run a custom kernel like elemental x, and through the app increase volume past stock level. It let's you adjust right side, left side, gain and mic levels all independently.. Or you could install viper. They're both cool.
P.s. the op said they wanted to boost the front facing speakers. I was wondering... Front facing, as opposed to the 6p's rear facing speakers?!

I already use ex kernel and have played with the sound strings in the ex kernel manager app, but it seems to only impact volume through speakers or headset, not the in-call volume

Oh, in call. Well I know some of the early 6p had issues with glue in the speaker cover where the speaker was bonded to the front assembly. People where complaining about low call volume because the glue was blocking the passage.
Use convolver in viper audio with Dolby surround sound.irs. Should amplify speaker volume by 3-4x, although for some reason convolver isn't working on Dirty Unicorns ROM.

So I've just upgraded from the LG G4 (single speaker on the back) and I'm trying to watch videos on it and it's not very loud, I would say half as loud as the LG G4. Not a deal breaker but I do use it as an alarm and I'm heavy sleeper. Is this a known issue? Is there a known fix? Maybe this is a bad unit?
Hi there..mine is the same..I find when my phone is ringing it seems even quieter..not sure if there all like this ??
