Last night I had a low battery. The screen was on and I hit the side power button to turn it off and nothing happened. The screen just stayed on. After several attempts to turn off the screen it turned off all together. I assumed the battery died. This morning I plugged it into my mini to micro adapter, which I have used before, and it still wouldnt do anything. No charging lights or anything. Tried three different mini USB cables and two different micro adapters. I get nothing on any of them. Are there supposed to be any lights on the phone while it's charging when the phone is off? I really doubt it's the chargers but I suppose it's possible. Does it sound like the phone is dead? Is there anything to check?
I would pull the battery out to force your phone to reset. Plug it in to the charger and and turn it on.
Tried removing the battery several times, still no luck. Today is the 31st day. If it's the phone, AT&T better replace it with a brand new one!
I held the battery from my fuze up against the Focus terminals and pressed the power button. It turned on. So apparently the battery is flat and not charging for some reason. Will try with the original charger when I get home.

You weren't using the original charger before? That's probably why you're having issues. I've had significant issues with it charging with any cable other than what came with it. No clue why.
Figured it out. I have 3 old HTC phone chargers (120v to mini usb) so I bought a bunch of the micro to mini adapters for $1 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Motorola-Mini-U...230750?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item41546be29e
When I use the old charger with the adapter, it will not charge. It does on my gf's HTC Surround though so I will give the wall plugs to her. When I use the new EBAY adapters with a standard usb cable plugged into a computer it works fine. They also work fine plugged into the included 120v to USB adapter. I also bought a couple generic 2 port 120v to USB adapters, http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2-Dual-PORT...694149?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2eb1df4185 ,
and they too work fine with a standard USB cable and the ebay adapters. It's really odd. I'm not sure what the difference is inside the 120v to mini vs. the 120v to standard USB but it was consistent amongst all of them.
I had my HD2 USB adapter at my bedside for charging my HD2. Instead of changing the adapter to the new Focus supplied one, I just plugged in the Focus to the HD2 one. In the morning my phone was dead. HD2 Adapter will NOT work, no matter what I try. I even tried my wife's iPhone adapter, and same thing. Went to the Focus Adapter, and all is good now. Strange...
Also, USB Cable to PC works fine.
PS: I read somewhere that the phone will not charge if it's turned off. Have not tested the theory, but maybe related.
I don't get the charging issue. I found out today that my phone wouldn't actually charge with a stand alone micro charger that came with one of my old BT headsets. Seems to work just fine with my car charger using the provided cable but it still makes no sense.
It's only 4 pins and a ground how the hell do you screw that up?

There are no lights anywhere to indicate that the phone is charging (other than the AMOLED screen). So, you have to check before the screen turns off. No LEDs to indicate a missed call or SMS, either - pretty annoying.
Another thing I noticed, when using the aftermarket wall-plug to USB adapter, even with the Samsung cable (USB to micro) allthough it does charge, the touch screen is very very sluggish. Takes several fast swipes just to get the phone to unlock. Can barely even type a word. This also occurs on my GF's HTC Surround. Weird indeed.

That makes it sound like a software issue since it's two different manufacturers.
So i have a Tmobile Tab and lost the USB cable and AC adapter, dang things are hard to find in stores. Went to BBY and they have the Samsung OEM USB cable and OEM car charger combo so i got it 'cause my Tab is out of juice.
I have one of those adapter things that can accept a cigarette lighter plug into a wall outlet and everything is charging fine but there's an oddity. While charging, the touchscreen is unresponsive. I push the power button on the side and the lock screen comes on but Tab is not responsive to any touch controls. If i unplug the USB cable, Tab works just fine and i can unlock and get around.
What gives?
I think thats just because the cigarette plug doesnt have ground connector so it cant omits any statics.

Hmm, that seems to be plausible. Interesting indeed. So i just have to live with it that way till i can find a regular OEM AC adapter. Annoying thing is every other USB AC adapter i have (and i have lots of them) outputs less than 2Amps, so no charge. The OEM one is hard to find in stores.
Good one. Thanks.
To make it as short as possible, My original note 3's logic board died, so I purchased another Verizon note 3 from eBay that claimed to work, but had a bad charging port. Since my original N3s charging port worked perfectly fine, I figured I'd just swap the logic board over.
Well, the blasted thing still won't charge. It won't even recognize being plugged into USB. I've tried several different cords... Ranging from the stock USB 3.0 one, to the Galaxy Tab 3 cord... To cheap Gas station car plugs... nothing seems to work at all. I've tried wiggling the cable thinking maybe it may be loose, but that didn't work. I had NO issues with the charging / USB port when it had the original Logic board in it.
So, What are the chances the logic board has messed up USB / Charging circuit? Is it possible I didn't get something connected right? I figured if I did, Something wouldn't work... But everything does, Except usb. (Speakers work, Mic works for calls, home / soft button and lights work)
EDIT: I took it back apart and checked all my connections and refreshed them, Didn't change anything :/
I even tried this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwTrlMomZ6o with no luck.
So it seems like the Logic board has bad USB. What are the chances of that happening?
Anyone at all? Gonna have to resort to a wall battery charger to use this phone.
Mine will not charge either and just started doing this about a week ago. Luckily I had bought 2 extra batteries that came with a wall charger. By the time one battery is dead the other is charged. My N3 only last about 6hrs or so.
Ok. So I was given a Nexus 10 that wouldn't turn on. After replacing the micro USB cable and testing it, I still haven't found the problem. I have found that when I power it from the right connectors on the dock port, it powers it. However I wanted to go further(actually, I broke my dock connector and waiting for new one in the mail and it has caused me to want to experiment more [emoji14]). I want to directly power the tablet from the battery connecters. My question is, which if the 4 cords leading up to the battery would actually charge the battery? I've tried many combinations and I've only gotten it one time but I don't rememebr the connectors I was touching and I haven't gotten it since. It doesn't seem that I've shorted anything out, so it should be fine. So I'm asking here. Which of the 4 cords of the battery that lead into the motherboard would power and charge it?

from left ,1 pin is - and 4 pin is +5v
Lately I can't seem to get my s8 to go into Dex mode. I've used this adapter for about a year and it's always worked fine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078W4RXGR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xYhyCbK7D7EWR
I use an official Samsung fast charger with it.
I've never had any issue with this adapter but Dex mode started acting up a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the official Dex pad on Amazon thinking that my adapter was dead, and it seemed to fix the problem, but the problem started happening again today.
Basically, when I plug my s8 into the dock it shows the Dex logo on the phone and then the phone screen goes off. I can tell that the monitor that I'm using notices that something has been plugged into it as the power button changes from an orange light to a white light. But after a few seconds the power button light on the monitor changes back to orange like it's not getting a HDMI signal.
I've tried using a different HDMI cables and a different monitor as well as different chargers.
It's like no signal is coming out of the Dex pad. I thought maybe the USB c port on my s8 might be messed up. Anyway, I've been searching through some forums and haven't been able to resolve the issue so I'm posting here. Any ideas?
