To do what? The search?
The search thread box is at the upper left by the page numbers. At least on the XDA 2013 Beta format.
If you are talking about downgrading, it is not possible. I personally have tried everything I could think of and more.
Including flashing a previous firmware PIT file. The latest bootloader does not allow it to be overwritten (downgrading) to a previous version.

go to the root thread, follow the instructions and give it a shot. That's really the best way to find out...just make sure you have the APK1 firmware on standby in case it doesn't turn out well.

Pretty much this. Backup files you don't want to lose, download the stock Odin files, and give rooting a shot. Worst case, you just gotta flash stock back via Odin. You may be able to flash an earlier firmware via Odin and root from there. Though I doubt Odin would let you. If I were you, I'd download all the applicable files, backup my data, wait until I've got a good chink of time ithat I don't need my phone and start playing around with it. I had all sorts of complications rooting mine s{ I was phone-less for like an hour

Any way to extract the firmware from my phone??
Update 12/6/16
I downgraded to the U firmware (G930UUEU4API3) following the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/g930uueu4api3-firmware-download-t3481159
I then rooted using Max Lee's directions and I have root! Haven't tried rooting directly from APK1 firmware
I successfully rooted my G930AUCS4APK1 using princecomsy how to.

I'm still trying to learn the nomenclature....so, i'm assuming by the PK1 one part of the version that it is new than PI3?
Just wasn't sure about UUE part. Sorry, noob in this dept.
But, wanted to at least share that I had successful root with OP baseband.
Now to figure out how to make the battery last more than 10hrs and respond a little quicker.
The V15 fix hasn't seem to do much in comparison to stock OTA.
Hope this helps.

(for the others that may not know too)
The last three characters of the release are the ones that matter.
* The P indicates the year (P=16th letter of the alphabet, 2016)
* The K indicates the month (K=11th letter of the alphabet, November)
* The 1 represents the release number (to allow for more than one release each month)
Keep in mind that once you flash a newer firmware on the S7, you cannot go back to an older one. Odin will not let you flash it. Even if you could, it would most likely trip the KNOX flag.

This firmware is OLD as dirt... it is the original Marshmallow release (the date is wrong, it's been noted in the official forums) and will fail to flash on any device that has taken even a single Marshmallow OTA past the original one.
@jocala Look in my sig, there is a return to stock and lock, in that thread there is links to current firmware and instructions to flash it, and optionally relock the bootloader.

THANK YOU, FOR THIS HEADS UP AND CORRECTING MY ERROR!
I had no idea that this could screw someone up. My apologies, for posting this!
It recently worked to bring mine back to stock, but it had been on TruPureXMM, since last December and I had not taken any updates.
That such community, I hope they can solve my doubts, I have my moto g4 plus (XT1641) with dual sim, and unlock the Bootloader and I got cyanogenmod 13, but I found out about the soak test and returned to stock.
1.- When I enter fastboot mode it appears in yellow letters "Software Status: Modified". Is there a way to say "official" again? Does this "modified" status prevent you from receiving OTAs?
2.-What is the last compilation number? I have the compilation MPJ24.139-23.1

Modified status will not affect OTA.. as you said your build no. Is (139-23.1) , it's old, latest is (139-63)..
Just restore stock backup and check for update., May be you will get latest one..:good:

I'm sorry, but I've done all the steps, but I do not get the MPJ24.139-63 update, it just tells me that I have my device updated.
What I did was return to rom stock specifically with this file (XT1640-XT1641_ATHENE_6.0.1_MPJ24.139-23.1_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml).
Please let me know if I have done something wrong.
Thank you.

Hi everybody,
this is my first post so please forgive any "incorrect habit" might come out of this post.
My situation is the following: I bought a Huawei Nova smartphone about a week ago. It comes with Vodafone brand and the complete build model is CAN-L01C02B130CUSTC02D014.
I read lots of forum posts and blogs over the web and what I learned is that:
- L01 means single sim;
- C02 means that is branded Vodafone;
- B130 is the firmware version;
- CUSTC02D014 is the custom build with the debug version.
I want to debrand my smartphone (without unlocking or rooting it, if possible) so I downloaded FirmwareFinder and, from there, I fetched every firmware compatible with CAN-L01 following to my build model (made on 2016-09-14). Unfortunately, I was not able to install any of those firmwares (very strange).
Given the above-mentioned information, here are my questions:
1 - is it possible to debrand my smartphone without unlocking and rooting?
2 - is it really possible that every firmware made after mine (on 2016-09-14) failed to install?
3 - how can I pick a compatible firmware?
4 - someone wrote that before installing a more recent firmware, one must debrand by downgrading and then (only then) update the firmware itself. Is it true?
Thank you very much,
Valerio

I think that is better not to install it using the three button method. If you going to do it, at least have a nandroid backup, assuming you unlocked your bootloader and installed the twrp.
One other way to try, requires a unlocked bootloader too, huawei extract tool and then flash system.img and boot.img at least.
I linked the source, but Idk if it is going to work and requeries courage to do this :/
Edit: sadly, wait for the official upgrad is the most safer thing to do right now

Thank you so much for the link! I think it should go flawlessly as long as it is compatible with CAN-L01 (and it actually is). The only thing that stops is that it is a test build...maybe I'll wait the official release too.
