MTP MODE ? - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey how can i use my LG G WATCH with MTP mode to copy songs to it ?

I suggest you to connect via ADB and use the push command to push in songs, or
use bluetooth from phone to copy

Connecting S3 to PC / Mac

Got my s3 today, but the phone wont show up on my PC or my mac when connected via usb, anyone else having this issue?
i know for mac, if you go to www.android.com/filetransfer you can download a file transfer program. The moment you connect your S3 to your mac the program kicks in and shows both your internal memory as well as your external memory. Then its just a matter of click and drag of course.
As for PC, it probably doesnt pop up, but if you go to computer as if your navigating to you drive, it should show up as a media device. Not sure if both internal and external will show (havent used on pc yet)
Hope this helps, hit thanks if you got somewhere
It's not in the my computer window ;(
the file transfer app doesn't work with my s3. I have to use kies.

Make sure you have your phone USB mode to 'PTP' when connected to AFT. The S3 defaults to MTP and AFT won't see your phone in this setting.
The same with Linux, (or Ubuntu with 3.4.2 kernel anyway) I can view the drives, but the computer crashes when halfway through copying any file to/from.

With the latest versions of Android, USB Mass Storage has been disabled. You might want to try the USSD code *#7284# as described here:

i know that mass storage is disabled. My pc don't even detect my galaxy s4 i tried to install new drivers and i get the device setup loading and stuck at that :S

Pretty sure Wear Media lets you copy any file-type from your phone to your watch - not sure if you'll be able to do much with a PDF or DOC file once it gets there though? But anyway, if you can put the file on your phone, with this you should then be able to transfer it to the watch...

I tried that but when selecting USB charging mode, it doesn't transfer files or show the device in my pc. When I select "Transfer files" mode. It's taking too long to calculate the size in windows and it keeps saying Copying but the progress isn't moving.
The options I see when I connect my phone to pc are :
Charge this device
Transfer files
Transfer photos (PTP)
Use this device as MIDI
I want to copy files from my phone to PC. How do I do that?

Yes but it is taking a very long time for a small size file and I'm unable to copy files to my mobile using this mode.
Is there any software for transferring files fast?
You can use adb to transfer files as well. But it's not as intuitive as using MTP mode.

enable mtp mode via adb?

My son dropped his tablet this morning, and since then, the screen is black, also there is no more sound and no vibration but I can still get onto the device via adb. Therefore, to backup the files, I would like to enable mtp mode and then transfer all the files via a file manager. Can anyone tell me, what the command line sequence would be to enable mtp mode in the shell? Spent a while googling, but without result so far...
Thanks so much in advance!
I see that adb pull also works recursively, so I have no need for mtp mode
