bkc800 keyboard and other Tablets - Thinkpad Tablet General

I'm wondering. I got BKC800 keyboard and when I try to connect it to my Nexus 10 I get an error "Wrong PIN"
Does anybody have this issue? Thanks

I have exactly same problem with my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 and the BKC800 keyboard.
Bluetooth tells me that the PIN or passkey is incorrect. And there is no way correct them because the documentation for the Tab or the keyboard are completely empty of any information.

Same here....

Ok so I have the same issue on a lot of other devices. However you can connect it to a Windows PC. My guess is that this will only work on the windows version of the lenovo tab and not android. I hope we can fix it.

Actually it is working with my Samsung note3..but not with Samsung note 8.

Pretty cool. That would be nice for websites that make use of mouse over (hover) functionality, at the very least. I wonder if it is specific to the keyboard / mouse in the video or would most mice work just as well?
How does this setup work with Xtralogic's RDP Client??

not in the US
The US version of the Tab does not allow connecting with a BT keyboard or mouse. Pairing works fine, it recognizes the keyboard & mouse as a keyboard and a mouse, but connection simply fails. Other Tab owners in the US have had the same problem. Ah, yes. Land of the free.
BTW, my firmware build number is DJ11, but on the pdadb.net site I see that the latest is DJ30. Under 'System updates' my Tab claims that it is up to date.
Any advice? Other than moving overseas? Maybe rooting & flashing new firmware?

DJ30 is for the Sprint version.
Flashing with European firmware will make this availalbe on your Tab.
I have t-mobile Galaxy Tab that I got from the day 1... and today, I was very disappointed with the fact that I can not get the Bt keyboard working with usa version.
Why all usa versions are crippled with no voice + now no BT keyboard...
Please... I do not want to return this cool tab, but I really want to use it with
the BT keyboard so that it can replace the netbook completely...( i got nice heavy performance labtop... already..)
I can bear with no voice.. but can some1 come with the solution for the BT keyboard pairing?

How did u pair ur apple keyboard to tmobile tab?
I tried to pair, but I couldn't ...
It says 'type xxxxxxx to pair', but there is no window where I can type those numbers...
when I tried to pair with my galaxy s, I could type in the numbers, but it still dint connect...
I searched everywhere, and it seems all tab pairing with bt keyboards are from other countries, not us..
Any help?

I have found that if you simply type those numbers on the BT keyboard and then press Enter, the Tab will seem to acknowledge that it is proceeding with the connection: the 'type xxxxx to pair' message disappears the instant you hit Enter. However, that's where it stops. It does not actually connect to the keyboard. It's one thing to share phone numbers with someone, it's another thing to get that person to answer your call.
I think Samsung wants to see how well their keyboard dock sells before enabling this feature (I *hope*) in a future release of Android for the Tab. Don't lose hope yet! If this were an el-cheapo Android tablet, then I'd say there's probably no hope for it. But Samsung has put a lot of resources into this tablet, so there will be a lot of development (and hacking) for it. And a lot of users who spent a lot of money are very pissed off, even returning the tablets back to the store. That's good, let Samsung know you're angry!
Meanwhile, I have just received in the mail a Bluetooth developer's book. I will see what I can determine about the internals of BT on the Tab: I know the full BT stack is there because I did use it to transfer files with my Mac. I was also able to write an Android app that paired my HTC Incredible (which also prohibits connecting with a KB & mouse) with my BT mouse, but I didn't go as far as to connect and read mouse movements. Pairing is easy, connecting is the question. I'll try the keyboard next.
On the VZW Tab, I have been able to pair a keyboard, but not get it to connect either.
I tried the latest version of BlueInput off of the Teksoft, but it does the same thing - pairs, bur won't connect. (There's an earlier demo version in the market). I also tried KeyPro from the market (also demo), but it doesn't seem to recognize the keyboard I'm trying to use (gearxs bluetooth mini keyboard - it appears to be sold under other names - it came with a CD with Android drivers, but it pairs, but won't connect).

I have the T-Mobile US version and I can now also confirm it working for both mouse and keyboard. I bought a logitech revolution 5500 combo at best buy and they both paired without a hitch. Simply awesome I must say. Tab recognized them independently by name. When asked for pin for pairing the keyboard I entered it on the keyboard itself and then was connected upon hitting enter.

Ok, great! That's encouraging. So it looks like Verizon may be the culprit and not Samsung. I'm now considering taking a trip to BestBuy to see if I can trade my Verizon Tab for a different one, I think a Sprint model was available. I'll test it with a BT keyboard & mouse before I bring it home.
[edit] Were it not for a $90 restocking fee and an assurance from Sprint customer support that the Sprint model of the Tab does not support the HID Bluetooth profile, I might have traded my Verizon model for a Sprint model. Contrary to what the Sprint customer support person said, in the store I was able to get the Sprint model to *attempt* to connect to my Bluetooth mouse (which I brought with me). There was a menu option on the Sprint model that let me view Bluetooth connection options, allowing me to use the mouse as a HID device. I believe that the problem was an incompatibility with the mouse itself. This menu option is utterly absent on my Verizon model. Next time I go back I'll try bringing my Apple keyboard (the BestBuy I went to didn't have a Bluetooth keyboard in the whole building).

Ditto....works just fine for me on my stock t-mobile tab...
I'm not sure about BT keyboards but the kb-dock sold by Carphone Warehouse UK seems to be the Samsung keyboard and it looks pretty cool and holds the tab upright at a slight angle for visibility. Been sold at nearly £40. I'm thinking of getting it because it will save battery and can also plug the charger and headphone while docked. I don't have any bt keyboard anyway and that feels just right.
Thanks everybody for your input on this forum.
I have a MS BT mouse notebook 5000, It'll pair but will not connect no matter what I try. This is on a Sprint Tab. Anyone get a Sprint working with BT 5000?
On the other hand Im able to use my Motorola BT S9 head set as headphones and make Unlocked Skype 3g calls no problem.

[Galaxt Tab 2] problem with bluetooth

Hi to all,
I have got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and I try to connect to a bluetooth barcode reader.
Pairing works, but when I use the proprietary APP that manage barcode reader,
it asks me again (and continuously) pairing PIN, without connect!!
Proprietary APP is compatible with Android 2.2 and newer, and support the SPP (Serial Port) Bluetooth profile.
I found on Internet that some people have problems to connect a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 to another device that uses
SPP profile....
Anyone know if there is a bluetooth issue in this tablet?
NOTE: I tried to connect barcode reader whith a Sony tablet S.....works correctly!!!!
Thanks!
Paolo
up
We had the same problem and we solved it switching to insecure sockets to connect to the bluetooth devices.
I have the same problem with my bluetooth keyboard. Works fine on an Ipad though..
Have the same problem with a hp mobil printer via bt.
Works on s3 phone.
Samsung suport says its a diffrent bt chip in it. Print app dev working on debuging itnthey say.
Hi, on which model of Samsung Galaxy tab you tested? Have you come up with any solution for supporting Bluetooth SPP on Samsung Galaxy tab 2?

Did you ever get this figured out? If so could you tell me what had to be done. I bought hubby both the GT-p3113 (refurbished) and Bluetooth Keyboard and Protective Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6200/P3100 They are not pairing and I don't know what I am doing wrong.
As you probably have guessed this will be our first use of bluetooth with anything. Nope don't even have cell phones with a bluetooth headset.
Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

How to Pair a Bluetooth Mouse without Pin?

My bluetooth mouse is a Razer Pro Click Mobile. There is NO pin for this device and according to razer you can't add one. This should the same issue with other BT devices that don't require a pin.
Things I've Tried:
1. Bluetooth Pairing App, the app is written in japanese and hard to follow but it does fiind my device but never seems to connect. It displays a message at the bottom like #[email protected]&%$ !, but I'm not sure what that error is.
2. Bluetooth Manager ICS, when trying to connect to the device it just calls the jelly bean api it seems and there is no way to enter a blank pin code.
3. Pairing code combinations.. 0000, 00000, 000000, 1111, 11111, 111111, 9999, 99999, 999999, 1234, 12345, 123456.
I used this mouse with my netbook and it worked great but it SHOULD work with the nexus 7. All the OS needs to do is accept no pin devices and I'm good.
Help!??
I would pay for someone to fix this, why would this even be an issue?
I'd be in for a few bucks too. I've got a thread for the same issue, it's a targus though. Works with everything else.
^
Talking to a dev friend of mine, I hope he can get this working as this should be native to the device.
... We can't be the only ones that have this issue ...
Maybe an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/...kaW9zLnNpeGF4aXNjb21wYXRpYmlsaXR5Y2hlY2tlciJd
My Gigabyte BT mouse paired without a problem.
Mice don't have PIN numbers, shouldn't be a problem.

How did you pair the device without a PIN? The BT pair is always requiring something there.

If you could give me a pointer I'd appreciate it. I'm always being required for a pin on the Nexus 7. Are you stock or on a different rom?
I'm stock rooted with no other mods.

My BT mouse doesn't have a PIN just a button on the bottom.
Switch it on, push the 'pair' button and the N7 just pairs.
I've just run through the process twice to be 100% sure. It definitely paired without having to enter a PIN

I've always used "0000" to pair my bluetooth mice with Android devices - never had any issues.
Just tried it with my Nexus 7 (Logitech Bluetooth mouse) and it worked perfectly...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
Update: It's working this morning following the same steps that caused the pin number popup the day before. Nothing has changed with my N7 and I haven't rebooted. We'll just call this "user error".
Thanks!!
Having the same issue. Might have to break down and get a mouse that is known to work with the Nexus.
Just got my Razer ProClick mouse to work with SGS3.
At first SGS3 software always promted me for a PIN code and I know that my mouse has none. It wouldn't allow me to input a blanck code...
What I did was I connected a normal USB mouse (well, not really normal - a Cyborg RAT 7 lol) via a micro USB to USB cable then disconnected it. Then I simply tried pairing the Bluetooth mouse again and it didn't ask me for any PIN code! It just paired automatically. Must have picked up some mouse drivers via USB from another mouse, I don't know.... but it works flawlessly now.
Maybe someone will find it helpful...

Actually I found this "plugging in a USB mouse" trick only to work on Android 4.0.4. It stopped working on Jelly Bean.
But good news! There's already been an issue brought up to Google and someone found a sollution (not Google) https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=26041#c33

[Q] Bluetooth Apple Wireless Keyboard issue

I've got a Nook Color running CM10 nightly 12/5. Everything else has been working fantastically but I can't seem to connect the Apple Wireless Keyboard (2 AA batteries version).
The NC sees the Apple keyboard and I attempt to pair. This pops up a dialog to type into the Apple keyboard a random 4 digit PIN then press return. I follow the instructions and it "says" they're paired but I can't type with the Apple keyboard. I tried checking the settings and the Apple keyboard is set to "input device." I tried download BlueKeyboard JP to help configure this all, but no go there either.
Searching around a few people refer to typing the same PIN back with the Nook, but I don't know where and how you're supposed to do that...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm using cm7 and a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard, but the process should be the same.
You mention entering a pin onto the nook, but do you also type the pin into the keyboard and hit enter/return?
Also after switching my keyboard back to the nook, from my laptop, I find telling the nook to forget the device before coneicting really helps. If someone knows of a way of not doing this, I would love to know.

Galaxy Grand Prime Cannot Bluetooth Pair with Win 8.1 PC (Acer M)

My pc is able to discover and pair with several other Android devices from the Galaxy family and other LG devices without an issue. This Galaxy Grand Prime will discover and pair, but will not connect. Essentially it will perform the handshake but have no functionality ( I work from home and click to dial my calls from my pc which then dials from the phone). It gets to the point where it will ask me to verify the pairing code is valid on both devices and then I cannot get any functionality after that.
I have factory reset the GGP
I have removed the bluetooth drivers and reinstalled and updated
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Same Problem
I have a Lenovo W520, and the GGP REFUSES to connect. I can send files FROM the GGP to W520 seamlessly, but not pair or send from W520 TO GGP. I'm sure both of us would LOVE to solve this problem. Oh, and my OS is Windows 7 Professional.
Basically the problem is the SGGP is a piece poop from a poopy company, hope that helps.
