So I am not to NOOB but I sure acted like it last night when I was way tired and tried to flash a ROM. Here is what I did...
I didn't catch that I didn't have the CWM but that I had booted into the stock recovery tool... Well I didn't before it was to late that is...
I clicked WIPE DATA
I clicked WIPE CACHE
Then noticed there was no "install from SD"
So it seems like whatever I find to install from ODIN I can't get the CWM to install so I can then flash a ROM!
I need my phone up for work, I am in HOT SH!T!
How can I either flash a rom via stock recovery "update format" OR install CMW via ODIN?
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

why don't you just flash again via odin and then root your phone via odin as well?
Don't quite understand whats your problem. So what if you wiped data and cache the rom is still there. Reboot normally and flash cfroot according to your firmware and then you should have cwm up and running. After that flash desired rom and the end.

Flash one of the CF-Root kernels through Odin, whichever one matches the firmware you're running. They have CWM baked in, along with root so you can flash a ROM afterwards.
If you can't get into download mode, turn your phone off, plug it in and hold down + power + home and it should boot into download mode. Then you can flash with Odin.
I thought the same thing, that so what that I wiped them... but when I rebooted the phone it just sits at the "Rethink possible screen"
I can get into download mode and I did find the "cf" post but I dunno what kernel I am running as I can't boot to go into settings to seek.
if you in recovery mod choose reboot, and it will be ok, than read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399,
or put in download mod: turn your phone off, hold down + power + home. Then flash with Odin.
I know you probably don't want to, but you can try doing a factory reset, that should allow you to get your phone up and running. If you have gmail installed it should put all your contacts back, as long as you backed up to gmail.
If you have an old copy of titanium backup you won't loose ALL your apps, this is why I tend to back up every weekend, I'm only a week behind with everything if problems arise....

I found the cf-kernel page, but I dunno what kernel I am running and so I dunno what kernel to flash (It seems vital)
"just rebooting" don't work lol I wish... it hangs at the "rethink possible" boot screen...
I was rooted but running the stock rom, if I can get CWM installed I think I will be golden, but whatever I seem to flash from ODIN don't work :-( no matter what nothing will flash as "PDA" but when I flash using "phone" it seems to install "zimage" which is the embedded file and succeeds and phone reboots... but still only to the rethink possible point.
flash any stock firmware then flash supercore 2.0 and do whatever you want from there
Think i know what the problem is,i have same issue sometimes,try flashing anogher rooted Kernel through odin,make sure its like if the rom is a kj3 that it has a kj3 kernel.see if that works

Be glad to but it isn't an option in the recovery?
My options are as follows...
Reboot system now
Apply update from SD
Wipe/reset
Wipe/cache
been in similar, if not same situation, things were missing from cwm recovery, like you wrote...if memory serves me fine,
flash stock fw with pit, repartition and everything...
then some rootec kernel with recovery...

let's go in a safe way...as long as you have download mode, you're OK.
Go to samfirmware or somewhere on XDA and find FULL STOCK FIRMWARE with proper .pit file and flash it with odin. Not kernel, not anything that is not full rom.

What on earth are you doing?
It clearly states:
I9000 & I897 owners (not I91000!!!) may also need a PIT file (also included in RE ROM ZIP files). I will explain further what it's for.
Why didn't you follow a tutorial on xda? Can you boot in download mode?

Sounds amazing but after my post above I not can't get the phone to power on although I hear the laptop detect it as I attempt to power down or up, but no screen or led display...

I flashed this...
Download a PIT file for the I9100
Download EXT4.pit file (2KB)
(for the S2 only)
battery pullout, then three button combo for download
New i337 user here.
Had it rooted yesterday, using the ./pwn method.
I realize now - I was on AMF3.
Once rooted - I was trying to get TWRP installed via goomanager.
Now I'm stuck in download mode. When ever I try to flash via odin to MDL or MDB, I get a FAIL! (Auth) error.
Is there anyway to fix this? Is there an AMF3 tar out there that's flashable via Odin?
Or am I completely screwed?
Sorry to say, you're screwed. There is no mf3 Odin file. And you can't put a custom recovery on mf3. That's what bricked you. You could try jtag. Talk to mobiletechvideos.com.
Fail.
Other alternative is to wait for an Odin flashable file, I assume?

Yes, but it could be a real long wait. I'm not even sure jtag would work. From what I've seen on xda it seems the mf3 is really causing problems. If you go that route talk to mobiltech and explain what happened as see if they have a fix before you send your phone in. Warranty might also work.

I tried that, but Kies doesn't even register the phone as connected.
I'm really bumming.

Man, I'm feeling your pain. I was thinking along the same lines. Some how you borked the recovery and if you could get that back on you might be ok. You might want to check with Aou or AdamOutler. They're wizzes at this type of stuff.

Call Samsung tell them your phone not working it is not turning on and send for repair [ PS free warranty for yr ] best they can do is tell you no after looking phone. Shipping is free as well.
I have bricked my s3 by flashing different Rom and they fixed it for me.
Also bricked my s4 AT&T same way as u did they fixed it for me lol
Most of time they be nice and fix it for you.

The closest we got was this:

We managed to build an odin-flashable tarball with the MF3 recovery. If it worked, it would save your device.
Problem is, the only copies of recovery.img that we can get right now are refused by the phone because they are not signed. If we got a signed version, we'd be golden. Unfortunately we probably won't see this until Kies has MF3.

It's a miracle!
I read through your thread; and for giggle - instead of letting it fail to boot and fall back to dl mode, I manually entered dl mode, then hit vol down to cancel and reboot.
It booted normally and all appears well...guess I have to delete goo for now. I'm missing CM10.1, though.

Congrats! Yes, you'll be without custom ROMs until we find a new exploit similar to Loki, or fully unlocked bootloaders.
I'm assuming you don't have a recovery at all now, right? Might want to check that out while you have everyone's attention here.
If it's borked, you might be able to manually use "dd" to flash the stock MF3 recovery back onto your device... You would use something like:

For the love of God, don't get that partition number wrong (p21) - check your spelling before pressing Enter. There is some risk in this method, so check out any available options you might have in goo manager to restore a backup or something first.

As a last resort, yes. It came from @joeybear23 who dumped it using my instructions in post #2 of that same thread, or you could extract it out of the tarball if you wish. The image itself can be downloaded in the first part of post #6. Might need to rename it or otherwise change the filename referenced in the "dd" command.
Again, this is only if your recovery is currently borked and unusable.
I fixed mine using a dif file.
I found a file called MF3_BTL_FIX.tar.md5. Flashed it in odin and it fixed my bootloader issues. Everything back to normal. Found it used for a dif issue elsewhere on XDA. I thought I was screwed for the foreseeable future.

Ok so I was running CM 11 while i was on MK2 firmware....i flashed a wrong file now i am stuck, I can get into download mode.
My device is Sprint Galaxy S4 running the MK2 firmware, but i have no idea where to go because it will not boot up anymore and only goes into download mode, any ideas on how to fix?

Boy that could be bad...
BUT if you get to Download mode you may be able to grab the full MK2 Odin-able .tar you should be Okay.
Please note that the sph-L720 is NOT the L720T. If you have that version and you flash this .tar you'll be hosed.

Make sure to Run Odin 'as administrator'.
From the zip just extract the .tar.md5 and place that into the PDA slot. Odin 3.09 seems to be working the best for most on this device.

Yup just downloaded that odin actually, but i have to wait about an hour for that mk2 file to download. And thanks i know I've actually done this before but on mf9 so it was a little easier. Will this bring me back to stock?

You'll be stock everything - baseband(modem), kernel, recovery and ROM.
You will have the knox bootloader, so when you flash a custom recovery you'll 'trip' that. But not really a big deal. You can remove the 'Knox software(s) if you want - there are some removal scripts here in the forums. Only thing is you can't Odin back before MJA/MK2.
To root you can use CF-Autoroot or Saferoot, then use Goomanager or find a recovery zip here and install custom recovery of your choice.

Ok so now when i try to open it up in odin it says hash value is invalid....any ideas on what to do for that?

Ok when i try to open the mk2 file it keeps saying the md5 hash is invalid. Ive tried 3 different odins to open it and i get the same result..
You don't open the .tar.md5 file.
You place this file - L720VPUEMK2_L720SPTEMK2_L720VPUEMK2_HOME.tar.md5 in the PDA slot.

have you tried heimdall? its unbricked me a few times, and its way easier to use too. i think you can use ob both windows and mac, i used on mac. if you are familiar with how to use a command line tool or terminal, this is the way to go. just my humble opinion.

- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)

boot in to download mode flash custom recovery via odin like twrp then you can boot again and then flash super su flashable zip from recovery 2.48 i think it is then you will be rooted thats what i done

download the lolipop firmware of germany ...from sammobile.com/firmwares
put the phone in download mode.....
through odin flash this firmware on your phone....
you have lolipop.... then you will be rooted by exactly the same method which failed you last time
The best, easy and most safe way to fix your problem is to flashing a stock firmware again with odin. Just pull out your battery, put it on again, get in Download mode and flash the Rom with ODIN, let it boot and you will have your phone working again.
Once you get it, download this and extract it until you get a ".tar" file. Put your device in download mode again and flash the tar file. It should be working nice (there could be some random reboots while booting, that's normal for CF-Root process, just wait)
If you can't enter in recovery mode after this, download TWRP for the N910F from here.

Since your device is international it shouldn't have a locked recovery or something so that makes me think that you did something bad in the process. Reflash the rom and root it with the link I put before. If still doesn't work try to install TWRP with odin too and see if the problem dissapears.

Yep, download any firm you want no matter of region, just make sure it is for N910F. Sammobile will download really slow if you don't have paid account so I recommend you to find any mirror for it. Once downloaded, flash it with odin and let it boot!
Did you try the root on Kitkat? the CF-Auto root is not compatible with Kitkat, only lollipop (I also had bootloop when tried on Kitkat).
Download this files and try the root process again (this files are from 20.01.2015):

First get it back to stock
Hi man,
I would first get the phone back to stock firmware by following the guide on this page:

Then Root it by flashing TWRP reovery:

And via TWRP flash SuperSU:

Just follow the instructions and links and you should be fine.
As long as the phone goes into dowload mode you can't really fail this one.

did exactly what he said! thanks for the help! phone working great with root
My s7 edge got stuck at boot screen so i reflashed stock rom and rerooted then restored the backup i had, it said fail because of low memory while restoring the system and now when i try to reflash the stock rom on odin it says model dismatch fail.
If someone could help me fix this I'm willing to pay something decent, but not a whole lot lol

Do you have custom recovery?
Do you have a custom recovery?
Do you have the right and the newest Odin Version?
Did you try it with another transfercable or USB-Port?
Do you have the newest samsung drivers?
Did you have any Odin problems like this before?
My suggestion:
Just do a full wipe on your phone. Downlad the newest Odin Version. Get your device into download mode (maybe try different transfercables or USB Ports and the newest samsung drivers) and see if it works now.
If yes, flash the right Bootloader and Modem for your device and then flash the rom you wanted to flash.
If this didnt work, (and you have a custom recovery) try to reinstall the rom without any backups via the recovery at first and check afterwards, if the device is now recognized by Odin.

I guess you still have twrp installed.
1. Step: go to TWRP and wipe everything except your SD-Card
2. Step: enter download mode on your device and then plug your usb in (maybe try a different usb-port or even another computer, or another usb cable)
3. Step:Flash the newest bootloader & modem in one step.
4. Step: Enter TWRP again and flash the firmware.zip via the installation process
I dont have TWRP, but i got it fixed, somehow my roomate got it, thanks anyways guys

Maybe You're trying to flash wrong firmware? What model did You buy?(check box) and what firmware did You download?
If nothing works then download 7zip. And remove all files from that tar.md5 file and leave system.img only. And then try reflashing it.
This way no matter what device You connect it should force flash this image file. Although it might be dangerous (a tiny little bit) so first make sure that You have proper firmware for Your model.

Yes, I've used these files multiple times before i did what i did, ill give that a try, if it works, i owe you.
If system.img by itself will flash successfully and Your phone won't boot then add slowly more files to that tar file (boot.img, recovery.img etc)
You could also try looking for a pit file for Your phone and then flash it with it. Pit file usually fixes most problems even broken partitions.
And make sure that You put that tar file in AP/PDA.
If nothing above works then send me screenshots of ODIN and the file that You're trying to flash. Maybe I'll notice something. But I hope You'll fix it
