Nearby places not showing up in dialer - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After the 6.0.1 update, the app won't display numbers for businesses in my area. Anyone else have this problem?

Any call location software in Market?

There used to be a very good application in market by the name of "Call Location". This app. used to decipher mobile or fixed line numbers to tell you location and service provider of the caller. This was pretty nifty application which now (I guess) is missing from the market. Since then I have been using "OpenAnnie Caller ID" application but looks like this application is temperamental and doesn't work half of the time.
Any other application you guys know of that provide this kind of functionality? Thanks in advance!
Peoples help.
I use an app called "City Caller ID." It only shows the location of where the number is registered. No service provider or land line/mobile line ID. But it was pulled from the market. http://phandroid.com/2010/02/23/lawsuit-city-caller-id-application-pulled-from-market

Caller ID problems

Hi there,
I needed to change my caller ID settings on my phone, but after I did that, I found that I couldn't dial out. I chose the setting for blocking caller ID to everyone. I then tried out contact only, and found I could only dial my contacts, and finally visible to everyone, and then i could dial out like normal. This is most annoying, as there are people who I don't want to see my number when I call, such as my students. Why would it block me calling in the first two cases - all I want blocked is my number appearing on the other person's phone. Could it have something to do with my local network? Any ideas?
Thanks,
David
PS I was playing about with my contacts while I was testing this out. I noticed my phone slowed down to a crawl, so much so that it was unusable, after changing a contact's details. Anyone else noticed this?
Has nobody experienced this? Or am I being an idiot and not understanding something simple?

[Q] Contacts names not showing up

Just received my Nexus 4 today. SMS messages from some of my contacts are not showing up their names, instead just showing the number.
I'm sure I had this bug in 4.0.3 on my Nexus S but was resolved with 4.0.4.
It seems to be where I have contacts saved without the country code, but the SMS receives the number including the country code. What is odd though is that I can click the generic avatar next to the message and it does show me the correct contact details.
Anyone else suffering this issue?
i have contacts without country codes and sms is working fine

No issues here with the described problem, could it be that you have these specific contacts or numbers double in your address book ?
I have had a similar scenario once before on my Sensation and this was the conclusion ; if the contact and/or number occurs more than once in the address book then logically the phone does not know which one to display and will display none.
Hope this might help ! Good luck !
Same problem here, contact has two cell phones. Work cell doesn't show the name in messages or group messages.

Yeah same issues here.
I have most of my contacts in the phone with a leading zero (ie 0424 xxx xxx), instead of with the leading country code (ie +61424 xxx xxx, +61 being Australia).
When people call me, Telstra shows their numbers generally with the leading zero, however in text messages they come through with the leading country code. The phone doesnt seem to understand the country code, and so treats the two numbers as being different, even though they are the same number expressed differently. Quite frustrating!
Googling it seems to bring back a few hits with people having the issue, but I cant find any resolution?

Google Voice Search App Missing

International s7 edge here, I did a factory reset this morning and now I have the google app itself, but no Google voice search app, the one with the microphone. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. Anyone have any idea where it went? How to get it back? Anyone else experiencing this?

Phone Call Screen overriding Google Maps with Nougat

Anyone else seeing this issue? When I am using Google Maps to navigate to a location and if I receive a phone call, the phone call screen overrides the Google Maps screen. Before nougat, it would pick up the call and the call screen would be in the background and I would still be able to see my Google Maps. But now, while I am driving the call screen comes to the top and puts google maps in the background. Kind of annoying. Especially for longer calls. I would manually have to bring Google Maps back to the foreground.
I'm having this same issue, my j3 works fine just adds the call as a notification up top while displaying maps, my s7 grey import swaps to phone call and hides maps completely unless I manually switch which is illegal while driving... Any help?
