I tried putting this on the marketplace section but all anyone seems interested in is the newer phones that have come out...
Anyways, i am selling my my t-mobile nexus one. It has an unlocked bootloader and is in great condition aside from a few minor cosmetic scratches on the casing. The screen is in perfect condition. I am looking to get $400 obo...msg me if you are interested.
The company i work for just switched from using t-mobile to sprint so i no longer will need my nexus one...it is still the best phone out there in my opinion...
BTW i live in Mountain View, CA....id like to sell it to someone close to keep shipping prices down, but would consider alternatives...
I am surprised i haven't gotten an offer on this yet....such a great phone. Will be a sad day when i officially make the switch...
I imagine most people looking in the Nexus One forum already have one, hence their interest in it.
Try eBay
I would if it had a locked bootloader I would do it in heartbeat if I had the money as well I love my nexus but would love to get one for my wife.

That's way to much foe an old phone man...

How old is the phone and do you have any pics?
I put 400 or best offer...seems people are selling them for way more on craigslist and ebay especially since they are now only sold as a dev phone....
well. i guess if you put it here, people won't be interested.
like someone says above, this is nexus one subforum, so i guess everyone who checks here now and then already own a nexus 1. just sell it on ebay/craiglist.
just put "unlocked bootloader" in your description.
Pics? Would you ship to Austin Tx?

i had one on craigslist and it went within a day... got 450 for it... was unlocked, rooted, the works...
The giveaway took place in the C++/Game Developer panel, which discussed the use of native code in Android applications (games, in particular, are likely to use the NDK as opposed to standard Dalvik). And aside from winning some karma points from developers, Sony’s motivation for handing out the phones are pretty clear: give developers a phone that features the gamepad, and they’re much more likely to make sure their games work flawlessly with it.

Does anyone know if these are carrier unlocked and able to connect to Fastboot? I'm seeing a few popping up on eBay in the $500-$600 range and I think I'm going to take the plunge.
If they're from Sony then they're most likely unlocked phones. I can't imagine them going "here, have a phone, it only works on -network- though"
Thanks. That's what I was thinking.

Damn, you got a good deal. Should have waited a week to buy mine, lol. Wish I had future premonition that they were doling these out.
However, still kind of bummed devs aren't taking this seriously...

Wow! I got one for a Best Offer of $550. Now I feel like I should have gone lower. Ah well. I was expecting to pay at least that anyway. Better than spending around $700 for one.

Excuse me for my ignorant question but is it correct to assume that even though these Google I/O Xperia Play's are unlocked that it's only for SIM and you would still need to use Gingerbreak to get root access right?
I'm asking because I'm in the process of buying one so I want to know how much I need to tinker with it. I also assume I won't need to debrand it and that it is pretty stock no?

From what i could tell on eBay there were a couple CDMA phones.
As well the GSM ones all appear to be the exact same phone as the Canadian one R800a just unbranded so i'd guess root access would have to be done via gingerbreak, however as mine arrives monday i'll update if this is the case.

Lucky you, i ended up at $540 as my timing sux.
Awesome phone at crazy price. I also got the dock and it looks very good.
I got it on ebay for $450 (item number 120725728032) and add a 10% back in ebay bucks as I bought it before the IE9 + Window 7 8% bonus ebay bucks ended. Very sweet deal at $405 + $7 for almost overnight shipping. I think the seller didn't care for much profit and also he didn't mention R800a prominently to get attention.
It's not much thicker than X10 and is actually a little shorter. The four buttons it has should have been on Arc along with the front camera. Will be using it for a week or two before I pass it on to my son while I go back to my Arc.
I have one of these coming tomorrow (ebay, ~$500 shipped). Is there any difference in software compared to the Verizon model? Is it going to be primarily stock 2.3?
This may sound like a foolish question, but, considering these aren't widely available, does everyone think these will get proper updates from SE?
Has anyone gotten the verizon version of one of these phones? I was thinking about grabbing one on ebay before they disappear to use on my verizon account, but wanted to check ahead of time to see if the bootloader on the developer version would be unlockable. Can anyone confirm this?
I saw an ad on my local craigslist selling their nexus 4 16gb and bumper case for $370
Considering that Google play store is out of stock and ebay price is insane
Is this a good deal?
a very good deal. make sure theres nothing wrong with the phone
- not IMEI blocked
- mint condition(?)
- no defects.
- you get the receipt for the device
id be wary of it though,
bumper case is ~$27 after shipping.
nexus 4 is ~$349
.......... + taxes?! seems like hes selling at a loss. might be too good to be true
thats a great deal! He could get a lot more for it.. Make sure theres nothing wrong with it and get it before anyone else does!
Make sure the IMEI is not blocked by T-Mobile if you plan on using them. AT&T it doesn't matter, but if he bought it from T-Mobile and is selling it he could report it as stolen and you would be SoL.

I want to move back to Android after a stint with Windows Phone 8. Where can I get the cheapest price for the Verizon Note 3 off-contract? The Verizon online store has it for $700.

Try craigslist. You are not going to find the Note 3 off contract for less than $550-600.
Way too early to get it cheaper. It's a highly anticipated device so everyone is gonna get asking price for it. Like ericdabbs said, try craigslist after its already been released. There will be people who bought it then found it too big for them.
I paid $745 via Verizon website

Won't buying on Craigslist risk your phone being banned after someone defaults on payments?

No, because that phone will be assigned to your account not theirs.

Perhaps Verizon and Sprint still ESN block and attach to account.
GSM phones block across the board and are only attached to the original account.
I thought with LTE they would do the same. Glad they don't. It's very scummy.

It's all junk on cl to mean anymore. Buying a $600+ phone on there scares me anymore. I will pay full retail and know it had been in my hands it's whole life

You will have to pay ~$700 unless you find someone dumping their used one. But that won't happen for at least a couple of weeks after launch.

I have bought & sold many phones on craigslist. You just have to be careful who you're dealing with, and you have to know what you're buying. And make sure you verify the ESN status before handing over money.

I have bought and sold tons in years past. Until this year. Too many shady people with shady phones and mix matched boxes for phones and stuff. I looked at half a dozen s3 for a backup phone then I threw the towel in. They were all junk. Won't risk that anymore. I always esn check and usually activate them on the stop. Never any issues with that just the stuff on there anymore is no good

Yep, I've met sellers with oddball stuff that didn't match their ad, or they just seemed shady, and I didn't waste time bailing out. Trust your gut. If something doesn't seem right, there is usually a good reason why it feels that way.

Moving to Q&A
I would say eBay from someone who bought one and decided it was "too big" and was too late in returning it, also check swappa.com
Craigslist always has people who buy the phone at upgrade price and immediately sell for a couple hundred off full retail. They make some easy cash and you save some. Just make sure you meet the seller at a Verizon store to verify not stolen. On a side note if you live in a marginal coverage area you can open a new account and get phone for discount price. Wait 15 days and complain about signal. They let you walk from contract with no charge. Then you just pop your sim in and bingo bango bongo. Im on my parents family plan with unlimited so this worked for me last year.
beamed from transporter room 3
Check Swappa. I'm not sure I'll be keeping my glitch-ordered white 32gb Note 3. I already bought my GS4 at full retail.
Will have to see what my first impressions are...
Joining the club... Hopefully this is the one.
Selling my HTC one because I cannot stand the button on the top and the damn lack of cases and such.
So...since I just dropped 400 bucks on this badboy, can you guys share your experience to calm my wallet nerves?
My dev edition Moto x is on the truck for delivery. Selling my Droid maxx (4.4 unrooted).
Gonna miss the battery life, would have got a dev edition maxx if they were in stock. But I lived with a galaxy nexus for 2 years so should be good with the X.
The droid is the same hardware with a bigger screen (same resolution, higher PPI on the moto x = sharper images without having to stretch to reach the corners), so I know I'm gonna love the experience, with the added bonus of being able to root no matter what update they send out.
Stock rom and xposed is the sweet spot on these devices!
I grabbed the Dev edition during that $100 off/1 hour promo ... Had the Note 3 at the time and thought that the x would be a 14 day experiment. A week later I listed my N3 on Swappa! Loving the x!!

I ditched my Note 3 for the GSM DE. I'm not regretting it. The Moto X has proven to me that thoughtful engineering (both hardware and software) beats anything that is the result of competition in the "spec wars".

Of course 'within reason'. If you physically fry your phone cause you rooted and did such: they're not going to warranty the physical damage. However if it's software like in the simple case where it bootloops over a single value recursive value then they're not going to be as adamant in denying you if you own the DE phone. Unlike the case with returns where you're forwarded a code: you'll simply send in the phone and wait for repairs like typical cases with phone repairs.

wont taxes vary by location? Example, PA has 6% sales taxes, where DE has 0%.
Web site says $379.99 * Taxes and shipping charges may apply. At one time (back when I got my X Dev Ed) moto did have free shipping on orders above a certain amount, and it was posted on their web site. Its not posted now, so I'm not sure if they still have it.
I got rid of my Note 3 for the GSM DE as well. I never regret that decision.

Moto were giving $70 discount for the moto x so it came to $379 + taxes and shipping extra.. This price was 32gb of the GSM model as well as the developer edition. Now there is no offer.
