Anyone here own more than one Moto X? I have one and am thinking about ordering a second one before the sale ends today.

Why? And why not?

Just wondering if anyone else out there enjoys this phone enough to buy another one. Especially, considering this could be the last great Motorola phone to grace our palms (dependent on what Lenovo does of course).

I have two of them. Makes it much easier to experiment. I have bought all of mine off of craigslist though for great deals so I can sell them for more then I paid if needed.(already done that with one)

3 Here. Started out by ordering one for my Daughter when we were switching to T-Mobile from VZW... figured it'd be an ok 'starter device'.
After the wife and I put it through it's paces for 4-5 days.. we decided to order 1 for each of us as well.

We have 2 in the house, wife liked mine and got one a month later.

My family finally upgraded our plan last month (Our plan was so old, Best Buy's computer system couldn't handle it) and we all got Motomaker Moto Xs.

I got one to replace my broken Droid DNA and I love it so much, both my wife and my mom were jealous of the stuff it can do. My wife just got one and my mom is thinking about it.

If I got a second one it probably be for the wooden back. I dont see a practical reason to have two phones. Unless your drug dealer

Some need more than one for work. Some need another as a back-up because they are prone to destroying things by accident. Some just want more than one. There's three.

I understand having more than one phone for personal use...if you have nothing better to spend money on....but it makes more sense to me if they're two different phones. That's just me tho.
I will have 2 soon actually ...but one will be the wife's.

They have pretty good customer service, you might be able to get them to credit you the difference.. or you can return it and buy it again.. I know people had some luck with that during previous sales.

I bought new off of swappa. My remorse is strictly from the standpoint of my inability to have patience. ?

So tempted to get this but with the Moto X+1 right around the corner I just can't pull the trigger. It's definitely killing me not having a DE phone though.

"Cheap" X Developer Edition now, or more expensive X+1 Developer edition (if they have a dev edition) later. That is the question...
I guess it depends on your needs. If you find 4.7" the right size, if the rumors of larger screen on the X+1 are true, it might be "too big" (Probably will be too big for me.. the 4.99" on the GS4 and 5.1" on the GS5 are too big for me).
When the Dev Edition X went on sale in the end of September, it was $649.99. They dropped the price to $549.99 Nov 7.
What will the X+1 initially sell for? And is it worth that price difference?

I've been holding out for a while now, hanging onto my Droid DNA, for the next best thing to come out for Verizon.
Was not impressed by the Galaxy S5. M8 was a no go because of the camera suckage. Nexus 6 is just too large for my taste. Almost went for the Moto X, until I heard about the Droid Turbo, and decided to hold off, and now I'm very happy I did
So who else plans to order this baby on the 28th with me?
Red or Black? I'm leaning Red!

I really want to preorder a black one on the 28th, but I know logic will prevail and I'll decide to wait a week or so for reviews/issues. Then I'll go to buy one and they'll be out of stock.

I'll be buying a red Turbo and retiring my Maxx HD the day it comes out. I just hope root isn't too far off, since I'm going to miss Xposed.

Definitely getting one of these! Have my trusty DNA still, had an upgrade since March, just waiting for the right device. S5 - no. M8 - bad camera. G3 - almost; battery reports kept me away, along with rumors of the new MotoX. MotoX (2014) - disappointed in specs. Xperia Z3v - maybe... Turbo - check.
Now to decide on red or black...

the Turbo will be replacing my Droid Maxx..I'm currently leaning towards red

I need to get some more information about this phone, but it looks like a good phone to upgrade into!

I'll be replacing Razr Maxx HD most likely with this new Turbo. Still in the air over color but right now edge is to the red one but have to actually see it in person. Is the 28th just an annoucement about the phone or is it actually being released on that date and available for pick up??

Well I was REALLY looking at the Nexus 6....but the size and price tag has me rethinking. It will come down to the Turbo, Nexus and Moto X. I am pretty much done with Samsung for now, so my S3 will be retired. If I get one it will be a black one.
Any guesses on the cost?

I am an international traveler (from time to time) and I need my phone to work with GSM. I know this red beauty does, and because it does... theoretically I can use my AT&T sim card in the US, cannt i? So the only question I need someone to answer me is... will it be available to Non-verizon users?

Obviously you didnt pay attention to last year's Droid line...the Moto phones are the quickest phones to receive updates now because of how close to vanilla android they are...
id say its probably an 80% chance this phone ships on 4.4.4 but we will have 5.0 before christmas...

you will probably have to purchase at full retail and then have VZW unlock it

Droid Turbo 2 vs. Nexus 6p

So I'm assuming these are the two big phones that are in the spotlight at the moment. Both have their pros and cons, one gains what the other one lacks and vice versa. Which do you believe is the superior device?
Both contain the Snapdragon 810, 3GB RAM and a Quad HD screen so they should be virtually the same, performance wise.
Pros of Nexus 6p:
Android M right right out of the box
Pure Android experience with the quickest updates (we know how long other brands take to update)
Finger print scanner
USB type C
Cheaper price
Very clear AMOLED display
Unlockable bootloader
Pros of Droid Turbo 2:
"Shatterproof Display"
Micro SD card (finally!)
Moto Maker (ability to customize your phone)
Larger battery
Flash on the front facing camera (pretty cool)
Wireless charging
Specs based on personal preference:
Screen size(5.7 on the 6p vs. 5.4 on the DT2)
Camera (21 MP on the DT2 vs. 12.3 MP on the 6p)
POLED(which everyone seems to be complaining about) on the DT2 vs. AMOLED on the 6p
The locked bootloader on the Turbo 2 has me nervous because I took a gamble with the original Turbo and, luckily, we ended up getting a decent way of rooting the phone; I don't know if I can take that risk again. Not only that, but Motorola really broke our trust with its claims of the original Turbo getting lollipop "before the end of 2014". What a joke that was. All we felt were pain and broken promises.
I do miss having an external SD card so that is the one thing that is leaning me towards the Turbo 2, but I wish they could just take the best qualities of both phones to make the ultimate superphone.

Superior, 6p hands down. Outside of the battery and possibly the camera the 6p beats the Turbo2 in most measurable areas, including portability and unlock-ability.
For me I am looking for a device with a very large battery, so this is at the top of my list. I also still have a 2 year contract so with the subsidy I am hoping it will be a reasonable price.
That all depends on the display. I need to see one in person to make sure the display will be good for me as I have also seen a lot of mixed reviews, mostly negative.

How is the 6p better for portability? The turbo 2 is physically smaller, which means more portable to me.

Or between carriers. Turbo 2 being VZW exclusive, even if it gets unlocked BL (unlikely!) ever, probably minimal dev support.

Just look for the Moto X Force, is the international version of the Turbo 2.

I wanted the nexus 6p. But I dont have almost 700 bucks for the 64gb plus the insurance. Me and my gf just switched from T-Mobile to Verizon. I choose the droid turbo 2. I've never had a droid device before. It seems nice and I don't need a case on my phone since the screen won't shatter. Plus Verizon gave me 300 dollars for a trade in. Half went to my droid turbo 2 and the other half went to my gfs note 5. But the payments are much easier to do then to come up with almost 700 up front for a phone.

Since Verizon is not selling note 7 anymore. They are all canceling the note 7 contracts and giving your upgrades back and billing your credit for what you have paid for the payments plan back.

I am thinking of going to a LG V20. First I will check to determine whether it might end up having a Verizonized Interface like the Note 7. I guess checking in with the V10 and G5 owners be a good indicator. If so, bye bye VZW! If we keep the Note 7s, we'll never see Nougat (or any update). I might even put up with the crappy resolution and go with an Iphone 7 plus (401 or 402 ppi .......Yeacccch!)

I'm hoping they'll let customers keep their note 7's as they're not going to refurb them, since it's being cancelled altogether.
I haven't been able to confirm nor deny whether it's possible to keep the note 7, but I'm hoping.

She said supposedly I'll get a return kit at some point but not sure about that

so far so good!

It looks like you are correct. I just logged into my business account and it suddenly shows that line eligible for an upgrade.

128gb Pixel XL in Silver just ordered. I'm done with phone swaps. I still keep the 2gb monthly bonus data. Unfortunately the Pixel isn't eligible for the Annual Upgrade Program which was a big part of why I bought the Note 7 knowing if it was poor it was only for 12 months. Did it online so they charged a 20 dollar upgrade fee. I will be calling tomorrow to get that refunded along with 35 bucks for the hand laid carbon fiber case I bought for the Note 7 that is now worthless... even as a paperweight lol. I'm also going to make sure I get the 300 dollar (over 24 months) credit for the Note 7 trade in and the Daydream Viewer. Even if I don't get the 35 bucks for the case I can sell the Gear VR, 256gb SD card and Fit 2.... It'll work out.

why would they if you bought them from best buy?

Was a rhetorical question really. I wouldn't expect V to refund me for something I bought elsewhere. Still sucks though. I sure hope Best Buy will honor a refund given the circumstances.
The thing that ticks me off is that the N7 had pretty much dominant specs when compared to other 2016 model phones/phablets but it is what it is.
What other modern phones (on vzw) are root friendly and have big ars screens? Was eyeballing the pixel but No MicroSD is a big bummer for me and who knows about rooting Android N (7.1) Moto Z looks pretty nice. Apple is NOT an option. Made that mistake already for 4years.

i got the moto z force droid n love it.. no root however atm

My husband has the Z force and LOVES it. I got him the camera and projector for it.
I'm torn between that or S7. I love the clarity Samsung has also i wear hearing aid Samsung sounds better but I like big phones

Nah. It's not. Close, but not the same. The s7 edge curved screen sucks too. The note 7 is better, but i dont like either one.

Same here

Moving to the Apple world.. Dont like anything else in Android world.. It feels like my favorite new puppy just passed away.. Feeling extremely sad, gloated.. How am I going to survive without stylus.? Beautiful camera, stunning screen and lots of productivity.
May be iphone plus 128 GB and Mr. Softy's Surface for its stylus. will help me tide over for a year till the Big Beautiful Samsung Note rises from ashes...
