Wondering, with android, if it'ld now be possible to use a bluetooth keyboard. Any news or references to this subject for the HD2? Regards

if you got a keyboard, try to use and report
OK, I'll bite...
Android version 2.2
Baseband version 15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2
Kernel version 2.6.32.9-38116-g3af9a39-dirty

Build number 2.09.405.8 CL218634 release-keys
Software number Froyostone Clean
Browser version Webkit 3.1
Keyboard tested:
Think Outside iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Keyboard, testing and working under WM, part number 101867
Shows up under Bluetooth Devices in Android as "Think Outside Keyboard." After associating the keyboard with the phone, reads "Paired but not connected." Typing does nothing. And that's as far as I've managed to get.
Thats too bad.. I'm using swype atm which is also fast, or the multitouch kb, but a bt kb would be fantastic.
PROGRESS!
Okay, so it seems there are no bluetooth HID drivers included in Android by default. HOWEVER. I've managed to get this one sort-of-working-ish:
(damn forum won't let me post links. Google for Teksoft Blueinput)
Using my iGo Stowaway keyboard, I can get it to input text. But if you want it to recognise every keypress, you have to type v e r y s l o w l y. Slower, in fact, than using the onscreen keyboard. So, this software is useful as a demonstration of principle, but not suitable for day-to-day use yet.
SUCCESS!
Using HyperDroid 1.6 build, which contains Cyanogenmod 6, I was able to pair my keyboard, connect to it, and type! TYPE, I SAY!
Cyanogenmod 6, from what I've read, is the deciding factor on whether a HID bluetooth keyboard will work. In short, yes! If you have Cyanogenmod 6, you can use a HID-compatible bluetooth keyboard on your Android HD2!

what kind of bt kb are you using? brand/manufacturer?
I have a freedom iconnex HID keyboard, is there anyway to make our current froyostone rom works with HID bluetooth keyboard?
Folks,
I want to try using the galaxy note as a tool for some quick fixes to the code and services. I want to get a foldable bluetooth keyboard. Setup vi (or emacs) browsing on amazon machine or maybe a skywriter server. I currently use connectbot and hackers keyboard. I have set the hacker's keyboard to a very small size and use the S-pen for typing. It is good for basic browsing.
I am evaluating buying either Nokia su-8w Bluetooth keyboard or Verbatim foldable keyboard. Please let me know if anyone uses such keyboards. The nokia keyboard seems really small but android specific keyboards may have shortcuts to android functions. Can I modify the keymap(xmodmap) file to bring in the same functionality even from the Nokia keyboard.
Any other App suggestions, especially for code browsing (c++, python)?
thanks,
Has anyone used a 7 inch tablet for word processing before? If I bought a bluetooth keyboard would the screen still be too small? Thanks in advance for any help.
Honestly, it will depend on how much pain you can endure.
I could not handle it, but it might be fine for you.
Heck, I don't even know how I ever got by with a single monitor - a 22" and a 24" are about my minimum requirement these days...

Sure, sort of depends what you're trying to do though. One suggestion for you: Get a keyboard called "null keyboard" from the play store. It's a keyboard that doesn't pop up no matter what you do. Also, learn to live without a mouse. I use a logitech keyboard for android and a MS bluetooth mouse, and while the lag on the keyboard is OK, the lag on the mouse is essentially unusable.
And don't let the "I can't even see the letters if it isn't on a 22" monitor" crowd fool you. It's nonsense (and irritatingly geek-elitist). I learned to type on 13" 640x480 screens, and take my word that the key is resolution, not diagonal size.

works 100%
Works under what OS? Android 4.0 or Android wear?
Hi Guys,
I am in the market for a smartwatch, which is sleek enough to wear every day as a smart watch, but also I can use to cycle and use for navigation with GPS.
I am looking at the Sony Smartwatch 3 as it looks quite nice and has built in GPS.
However, there are more stylish looking watches I like the look of from the likes of Asus, LG and Moto.
So... Is it possible to use the GPS on my phone which will be in my pocket, and use the watch for instant navigation instructions?
I am thinking about apps such as Ghostracer for GPX files for example
Thanks in advance!
