After updating to Marshmallow 6.0.1 MMB29M the Home button of the Nexus Player remote and of my Logitech K700 keyboard stopped working. In the past pressing this button brought me straight back to the Home screen (Leanback Launcher), but now it doesn't. In order to get back to the Launcher I have to use the back key from all running apps. At first I thought it was a problem with the Home key in the remote itself, but it's also happening with the Home key of my K700 keyboard. I doubt that both keys broke simultaneously. This issue started after the NP was updated to 6.0.1 via OTA. But to make sure that it was not a bad OTA flash, I re-flashed 6.0.1 using Wug's Tookit a couple times... with and without root, but still have the same issue. Did the Home button function changed? I need it because I have to get back to the Home screen to start other Net apps after I start IPVanish. Clicking the back button while IPVanish is running disconnects the VPN session. Any suggestions?

Same thing happened to me. You have to wipe the nexus player well. Depending on which recovery program you use, wipe everything 3 or 4 times. I wiped everything except internal memory or the new rom would be wiped out and I would have to start with the player flashed back to stock again. Or you can wipe everything if you can get ADB sideload to work. Never worked for me.
hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip. Just to clarify... I use TWRP and have tried wiping the cache several times (If I remember correctly Dalvik Cache hasn't been around since KitKat) - What other partitions did you wipe? The Data partition and/or the Internal Storage partition? Did you have to re-install all your apps?
EDIT: I guess (Settings -> Storage & reset-> Factory data reset) has the same effect as doing a full wipe. The factory reset restored the functionality of the Home button on both my NP Remote and my K700 Keyboard.
Thanks again...

I have Bell's Galaxy S only unlocked but no any patch installed on it. I updated to JH2 because I wanted to have the 3 buttons recovery just in case. But after the update some apps opens and close right after. Also gmail downloads emails, but when I try to read it it brings me back to the list of all emails. I did do recovery mode, but no luck. Samsung customer supports sends for repair. I do not want to be for 3 weeks with no phone. Any help will be deeply appreciated.
try clearing the cache
you might have some conflicting settings left from the previous ROM
you can either boot into recovery mode with the 3 buttons combo
or you can download this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8187376&postcount=63
and it will clean it for you
I did try the recovery mode with the 3 buttons menu options but no luck with it. It is the same ofter a recovery. The cacheclener is only for rooted phones, and mine is not rooted. Do you think there is something elese left to explorer?
Thanks
Any help about this priblem?

why not root the phone?
it's safe to root the phone
I rooted the phone and installed cachecleaner from market and ran it. Still the same problem. Even when I try to opne AppBrain it closes right after. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks a lot.
I tried factory format and reset with this codes *2767*3855# and it is the same.
the next best thing to try is to go into the Recovery Mode, and select the option to Wipe Data
see if it works properly after a flesh start.
Already done.....same problem. I guess I am running out of options. Is there a way to reinstall JH2?
Hello,
I recently purchased a 16GB Galaxy Tab Wifi and when I do a factory reset, it will not run setup. It takes me to the same home screen, with an extra icon "Factory Mode" also the lock screen does not work.
I have rooted the tablet and tried the offical 3.1 ota rom and the TW stock+rooted rom, but even after I do a clear/erase everything, the tablet refuses to run setup and the same "Factory Mode" icon appears on the home screen with lock screen not working.
Is there a way to wipe the internal memory/system files to make this factory fresh again?

Did you use the ClockworkMod Data Wipe/Factory Reset?
Yes I tried that in addition to the factory data reset under settings > privacy
Try doing the data wipe AND cache/davlik cache wipe.
I tried those as well... no luck

I got this iron man of a phone yesterday and rooted yesterday. I noticed a lot of bloat so I uninstalled a bunch of it. Now my s voice doesn't work(it forced closed when I asked a question) so what apps affect it. What should I not have deleted? And where can I get it back?
I don't know what I deleted that did it because I deleted a bunch of stuff that looked useless.
Thanks
Joe
Might be the ChatOn.
To get it back, restore to factory via Kies or ODIN.
I removed chat on but s voice still works. Did you remove Samsung apps?
Yeah I think I took some out... gonna just factory reset -.-
S Voice doesn't work at all, even after a reset.
I didn't uninstall anything, but after I rooted, S-Voice quit working. It just crashes every time I try to use it.
I tried factory reset twice, and hard reset twice (vol-up + home + pwr), with the exact same result.
It is so bad, that after the reset, when the software asks what language do you want to setup the phone, text-to-speech quits before you can even hit next.
I tried changing the default tts from Samsung to Google, but I got the same result.
Anybody with any ideas???

Yes, sorry, but you should restore back to Factory using Odin. But just in case you don't know, doing this won't reset your settings and apps, so feel free to restore back as soon as you have weird issues or errors.

**** if you didn't uninstall anything, it might be the root that caused stuff to not work then. That is the same problem that I had, except I did uninstall a bunch of stuff.
*EDIT* I have confirmed that it is in fact the root that makes S voice not work. I restored to factory using my firmware from this site

And now it works fine that I do not have root.

Works perfectly, was having the same problem after recent root.
You can set them back to system apps after you have reset.
Now I just need to get my default home launcher to actually launch when I reset the phone.
"You can set them back to system apps after you have reset."
I noticed on my phone, if S VOICE is a user app, Double Clicking Home key works once to start S Voice but if I go to messaging or maps or any other application, double click does not bring me back to S VOICE.
I reverted S VOICE back to system app and double click works as advertised again
My nexus 7 is unlocked/rooted and I applied the 4.3 update (the method that does not wipe your system). Now, my home button stopped working, it clicks and makes a noise but doesn't do anything. It happens with all of the apps and system stuff. Also, when I turn the device on, the sliding unlock screen is gone. I tried to disable it and re-enable it to no avail. I tried booting into recovery and wiping data/dalvik with no luck. I tried searching the forums and the googles but couldn't find anyone with a similar problem.
Any suggestions that would save me from wiping the system? Thanks

In my case, home button does work after 4.3 update, but the facelock does not work, but other kinds of screen locks does work.
Guys i am having the same problem. Is there ANY way we could solve this without wiping our devices?
It would be A LOT of hassle for me if i wipe.
I'd be grateful for any assistance
Thanks
EDIT: NVM, i went through the hassle and WIPED the device. Its working fine now.
I tried everything, but wound up having to do a flash-all. Works fine now.
Now soft keys no longer work. Not a problem of the screen as the screen unlock screen phone keys, unlocking and camera work perfectly well how they work by placing the phone in landscape mode. the touch screen at the bottom works with all applications and games so it must be some upgrading of some application google. Would you be able to help me please? OS 5.1.1 Lollipop stock, but before returning stock was also with me always root Android 5.5.1 L. I did a factory reset and I deleted all data from the N4 including wipe cash and all data from recovery. I do not know what to do ...
Can you reflash the system partition with a fresh copy from the stock image through fastboot and see what happens?
