I m trying to use a cardboard from OnePlus with my Moto X Pure. It phisically fits, but is very blurry. I tried both with the official qr and with some alternative ones: with some alts the situation improves quite a bit, but is still unusable.
I tried with google.com/get/cardboard/viewerprofilegenerator but I m unable to find a suitable config.
Has anyone found a valid solution?

Hi everyone,
So as mentionned in this thread and this thread our Moto G 2014 has an oversensitive gyroscope which causes jittering and shaky images when using the awesome VR headsets out there.
So I browsed around for a fix and found one on reddit that should work on any android phone with Xposed.
*DISCLAIMER*
I am not the owner or creator of these files I am just sharing them here, all recognition and thanks go to Reddit user Odd-****
Requirements:
Xposed Framework
Instructions:
1-install APK
2-Enable module in Xposed app
3-Reboot
4-Enjoy
Links:
APK is located here
Original thread is located here make sure you jump in there and thank the author of this awesome fix
Warning:
Original author Odd-**** noted that this fix adds a bit of barely noticeable latency to the gyroscope but the tradeoff is 100% worth it
With the introduction of being able to interact with notifications thanks to the upgrade of Moto Display I was interested in trying it on previous Moto X generations. I can't seem to find a system dump anywhere, could someone with the phone pull the app to test compatibility?

I've extracted the system files from the factory images to play around with, and created a de-odexed copy (which works fine on MPXE if you know how to create a zip that removes the odexed files, and installs the de-odexed ones.)
Also, I have removed the stock Google Apps except for a few base files.
Screenshots attached to show what is still in /app and /priv-app.
DEODEXED_MXPE_SYSTEM_WITHOUT_GAPPS_5.1.1_LPH23.116-18 (606MB compressed - 910MB uncompressed)
ODEXED_MXPE_SYSTEM_WITHOUT_GAPPS_5.1.1_LPH23.116-18 (696MB compressed - 1.21GB uncompressed)
Hope this helps
Thanks!! Unfortunately for Moto Display there seems to be a dpi issue where things look a little cutoff or just too small. I'll see what I can do, though if someone has some better modification knowledge than my rather basic one it would really be appreciated!
Since I recieved my Moto G4 Plus I was wondering about the possibility of using in an app the integrated laser on the camera, I tried to find some app which uses It but I do not find anything... I think that it could have an awesome usability, being able to use It, for example, as a night-sight (maybe?) or, at least, as an accurate distance measurement... I don't know, just wondering. In any case, I post my idea just in case any developer wants to try to do something..
same question here ..did ya figure out ? Not sure if even the stock app uses the laser feature or Moto cheated on us and only a small % age have laser
I m specifically looking for ANY working app out there , willing to work with custom ROM where there is a MACRO mode
enabled.
I wasn't able to find a single Camera app with this mode. BTW I am running Havoc 2.9 ROM . All the nice apps like open camera, FV , whatever will show this op missing. I wondered if Camera 2 api would get that in . Not sure but checkin
Also does anyone ever see the laser auto focus working... I dont see any red laser dot. Is that the laser focus only a Privy of Stock Moto Camera app ( cos that app focuses instantly c.f. open camera on G4 plus which takes 10 s to focus - its the same with other similar apps. Someone posted a link to AZ camera.. AZ crashes from A to Z totally.... after spiting out "camera API 2 is not enabled" ..matter of fact ithat Boolean setting is on) ! . You literally have to play "hands in the air" & freeze your subjects with other non Moto apps ...... is this experience pervasive or I am missing some
Any recommendations for a faster camera than the stock one? everytime I open the stock camera, it takes a good 3-4 seconds to open the app itself and by that time, the moment is gone which I needed to capture.
FYI - I am also rooted. Please let me know if there are any tweaks that can fix the delay in opening the stock app itself?
Regards,
Shonilchi
What ROM are you on? I take it the usual cleaning of the camera app data and cache didn't do much?
I find this ported HTC camera app opens fast on my G4 Plus running Lineage OS OMS - it's a little basic (no slow motion/professional mode compared to the Moto camera app), but for taking photos in the moment, could fit the bill. Also, seems to focus quickly and takes decent pictures. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/los-aosp-base-temporal-fix-camera-t3574480
Alternatively, if you still like Moto camera, perhaps try flashing this Moto camera app? https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/stock-camera-t3540473
Try snap camera HDR
I love everything about this phone
But, yesterday I tried to screen mirror my phone onto my Samsung smart tv and the cast setting just says no devices found as I open it. It doesn't even search for devices. Just immediately says no devices. It's not a problem with my tv since I've tried it with other phones and it works fine. I've seen online that many previous moto g versions have this problem. I've got the g5plus made in China 3gigs RAm and 32internal
You need to add this in build.prop to make it working (youll need root for this):
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
Enviado desde mi Moto G (5) Plus mediante Tapatalk
When you in the cast menu click the 3 dot menu in the top right and select wireless display. Your phone should now recognize your TV and you should be able to cast.
I have MoTo G5 Plus, it does cast but after 4 minutes it disconnects, which is so , I still did not find any cure of this problem
enable cast but camera error
Hello,
I did the root with the toolkit (works pefect, thanks). After that the camera works perfect.
And I also changed the build.prop like: persist.debug.wfd.enable=1 (works also perfect). Cast is enabled.
But then I cant start the camera. Always error (restart camera).
I read a lot about the camera issue and I tried different things (reboot, clear cache...). I flashed different stock roms an tried camera mods but its always the same.
When I change the build.prop like before (...enable=0) the camera still dont work.
The only thing that is different between my build.prop and the things I read here is that in my original build.prop was a # before and the number 1 was already there like:
#persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
I delete the # or I edit (persist.debug.wfd.enable=1) at the end of the build. Both things enable the cast (the three dots). But the camera dont work.
(I like the stock rom very much. I tried custom rom but I always came back to stock!)
Maybe someone can help me!?

I have moto g5s plus. I tried to enable miracasting by root my device using magisk. I find build.prop file, there already persist.debug.wft.enable-1. but still miracasting not shown in cast section. Plz help...
