I have rooted my Vibrant but when i try to back up my apps, titanium back fc's anyone else having this issue?
Yes i'm having the same problem also...wonder if there's a possible fix for this.
Can anyone else confirm that titanium backup is not working?
I sent the developer my logcat. hopefully he can resolve this issue...
I am also having force close issues. Can usually restore an app or two then it force closes on me.
Broken for me too.

I was able to do a backup, but the odd thing is none of my apps showed up at all. Just system settings. But no FC's.
would one of you take a logcat and post it. I will then proceed to send to the developer to see if we can get this fixed.
i have been working w/ the dev, i can confirm this is fixed and i assume there will be an update soon.
EDIT: attached the patched 3.3.0 version.
Awesome news, I had the same problems!
Hi everyone,
I don't own a Samsung phone so thanks a lot for your help in solving this.
The bug-fixed version 3.3.1 is released on the Market, and backups should work fine now.
I'll be adding more Samsung love in the future
Have a great Sunday !
It now works but it still wont detect my user apps after the update.
I never had fc's, but Titanium hasn't been able to back up my apps. I'm assuming it isn't looking in the right place for them, but not sure if there is an option to change that.

I do not have that issue. however depending on the size of the apps being installed it can take a bit of time to install. Does it say it is restoring or anything or nothing at all?

it just sits there at 0% on whatever app is first. if i close it out that first app manages to install but without data. the one time i did leave it on for around 10 mins it managed to install two apps.
is there any special thing i need to do before i do a restore?
note these apps are from chromatic 3.7 w/ my g1
edit: just tried new setting under restoration, although its not as fast as doing it on my g1 I managed to get things restored
I am slo having an issue where Titanium says its restoring, but just sits there doing nothing. SOmehow Ive managed to get it to restore once, but I had to wipe and now I cant get it to restore for the life of me. Tried w/ original busybox and the one that downloads inside titanium, both w/o success. Seems that titanium has some sort of issue w/ the Galaxy S.
Has anyone found a solution that allows you to restore your apps? Thanks!
EDIT: Whats really strange is if I try to hide titanium, relaunch it, and try and backup. It gives the message "backup already in progress" but for whatever reason it moves onto the next app...so strange
Is this possible? I'm asking because I would like to switch to 2.2 when the rooted version comes out, but I don't want to lose all my apps, contacts, settings, etc... I'm currently on the rooted stock rom.
So is this possible to do? I tried searching around the forum, but I couldn't find anything... maybe I was searching for the wrong things.
Thanks!
Shawn
As far as I understand it, it's highly advised you do. But you can use something like Titanium backup, buy the donate version, to backup all of your apps and phone content.
Super important tool when flashing ROMS.
Mybackuppro is good as well. You can do an online backup as well.

I looked up Titanium Backup and it looks legit... this will backup all my stuff from 2.1 and be able to restore to 2.2?
Also, why would I need Nandroid in addition to Titanium Backup if I'm already rooted? Is there a reason I need both?
Thanks for the help!
Shawn
I just don't get this. I have used Titanium Pro for years, but on the newest phones it seems to be a bit of a CLUSTERF* and it is getting really damned annoying.
Oh sure, I try the inactive/interactive settings change, but the same crap. Never had to mess with it in the past.
Has Titanium lost their mojo as the premium android backup solution? Is there something new that actually works reliably on Current phones? ARGH
My experiences are with both SuperSU and Superuser.

I still use it with no problems.
I've noticed no changes, works fantastic for me. Been using pro before it was on the market.
Same here, using it fine on stock rom with cwm recovery and root.

The well documented freezing on restores. I honestly love this app. Don't get me wrong. I was venting a bit. But the first time I've encountered this was on my htc one and now this G2. Not sure why. Since I only got it today, I decided to Factory Restore it and will go from there.
If I offended anyone, please don't be. It was not my intention.

The only time I have had this issue was when I was restoring a 4.2+ feature on a 4.1 ROM (ie Lockscreen widget on Note 2).
I even back everything up from each phone to Dropbox and restore apps with data on a different device. I expected issues with this but was pleasantly surprised.
And I highly doubt you offended anyone I was just curious what issues you were having.
Hope you get it sorted out!

You sir, might just be a genius This backup was done on the same version of titanium, but it was from a backup done on my previous htc one running a 4.3 rom. that has to be it.
*Kicks self in butt, repeatidly*. Thank you!!
Never had the freeze on restore issue. But it would be annoying if it were a regular problem. I think Joel has done a good job though keeping up with all the changes that Android throws out there. It's a tough row to sow to have an app of that magnitude working all the time on every make, model and OS version.
Worked flawlessly migrating from a DNA to the G2. It's you.
heh. I can't even get it into download mode. I think the problem is I used a "install twrp without root" from the forums here. it seemed to fail. Looking closer it appears to change the kernel stupid me didn't notice first. Looking to restore phone to factory default. Downloading now
Ended up having to have Titanium create an update.zip of my apps. restored via recovery. Odd. Trying Cleanrom today and will see how that goes.

OK, so the problem did seem to due to the backup being created from a 4.3 rom on htc one. After installing the apps using the created update.zip, I then deleted all titanium backups and did a new one from the G2. I then did a factory reset, reinstalled Titanium and then restored without issue. Happy Happy Joy Joy.
Thanks guys.
are you restoring data? restoring data from one version of android to another, or one phone to another especially a diff version, will always give you a problem.
i don't even use titanium to restore apps when i get a new phone..i'd rather my new phone start off clean and build it's own data to backup.

Like an idiot, I mistakenly reset my phone and now I am using Titanium Backup Pro to restore all of my apps and system data. It's on 34% restoring wssyncmlnps and it's been like this for over an hour now. What can I do to fix this? Can I just redo the restore process and uncheck wssyncmlnps? What is wssyncmlnps and is it important? My phone is rooted if that makes any difference.

I've had that problem before where it kinda froze but said it was running, I just powered off the phone and selected what I wanted to restore.. These phones are touchy about restoring though, TB doesn't play nice all the time.

So, I'm redoing the restore and I unchecked wssyncmlnps. It's now on 77% complete and stuck on com.sec.ims. I have no clue what that is. Can I uncheck that too?

I would do a couple things, uncheck it and see if finishes and then Google what the two are just to be aware, and then try to restore them by themselves... You might have to install your rom again though from scratch and not use TB.

You really shouldn't be restoring system data.. It will only corrupt your current system. Titanium is definitely likely to hang when attempting to restire those unnecessary chunks of system files. Stick to ONLY user data.
The best and safest system files to restore would probably be your texts, call logs, wallpaper, and WiFi networks but anything else should be left alone.
Only use Titanium to restore your apps. If you need to restore text messages, I suggest using MyBackup.
