[HELP] Soft-Bricked G900A Downgrading - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated OTA from 4.4.2 to 5.1.1 and now when trying to downgrade back, I bricked it. I flashed the Downgrade_to_NCE.tar (realizing now that i shouldn't have) which ended in a FAIL in Odin. I tried flashing the firmware, still FAIL. When I flashed the OC4 Stock Partitions, it booted up, but got stuck at Samsung splash screen. Now i have tried all sorts of files, including the OneClick.exe and flashing the full firmware from this thread. still, nothing. I have to go on a trip this weekend and really don't want to have a useless phone.

It sounds like you had the 4.3 update, because it sounds you like you are trying to install an older bootloader over the the locked MJA bootloader. So the update went through, now you cannot go back to MF9. The bootloader isn't corrupt, its locked and only the MJA bootloader can be flashed through Odin. You'll have to go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search for the 4.3 MJA file to flash to your fone, the cf-auto root, then flash a custom recovery...

[Q] Urgent Help Required Please!! GALAXY s4 I9505

Hi Guys,
After rooting my phone, trying different Custom Roms and reverting to stock a couple of times, I now have soft bricked my S4, or at least I hope it's only a soft brick.
I upgraded from JB 4.3 to Kitkat 4.4 and TWRP recovery a couple of months back. I live in Australia and as yet we don't have access to Stock Kitkat 4.4, so I flashed the United Kingdom XXUGNG8 (BTU) firmware. The phone began to lag and a couple of the functions refused to work, so without thinking I attempted to flash back to JB 4.3.........I know, I know you can't do that, but tat the time I was frustrated with it's performance and I didn't think before I acted.
Anyway, first I was unable to enter Recovery mode......nothing worked, the phone would just boot to the error screen. I was able using Odin 3.07, T erase all, flash a .pit file and obtain a "pass".
Get pit for mapping
Firmware update start
RQT close
Res ok
Removed
Remain Port.......0
All threads completed (Success 1/Fail 0)
Then when I attempt to flash a stock rom, it fails every time at "System Write".
I now have discovered that a "Phil's Touch recovery .tar" can be flashed, but nothing else.
When I boot the phone up, it hangs at the Samsung Galaxy S4 iGT9505 screen.
What have I done wrong guys, have I completely corrupted the phone, or is it recoverable? Please Help.
Regards.
You can't revert back to 4.3.
So flash a custom rom or a stock 4.4.2 rom and you will be fine.

Yes thanks for your reply. I re flashed a pit file and stock rom together and it appears to be working fine now.

Soft brick?

Hey there guys. Running into an error here in my flashing endeavors.
I originally rooted my Galaxy Note 3 this past year and traded phones with my dad who opted to try to unroot to stock. In doing so, he called me to fix his mistake of dirty flashing the nc4 firmware right over from eclipse rom I was previously running in nc4. Now when I flashed it with the correct vzw firmware, itistill boots with the 'custom' boot logo (but no option to boot into safestrap) and gets stuck on the verizon splash screen every time even after multiple reflash.
Any help or ideas?
You can odin flash. Nc4 tar files.

PF4 Rooted upgrade BRICKS every time. Am I the only one?

I have tried going from PB1 rooted, with dev-mod bootloader, to PF4 rooted rom. Tried both FF and Safestrap, and it bricks every time. They brick differently, but they both brick the phone.
It can't be a true brick or you wouldn't be able to try again. If your phone is hanging on the Samsung logo or Verizon boot animation, then you may not have wiped your data partition. If you are coming from a LP build, meaning PB1 or earlier, you will need to wipe data because MM handles data differently. I would also recommend flashing the ROM in TWRP.
I've completely wiped my phone, went back to stock OK3 Rom and tried again. 6 times already. Tried installing it through TWRP also. No luck.
Which PF4 ROM are you trying to load?

Bootloop issues

Hello there. So, this is my actual situation: I have a galaxy s4 on stock Lollipop. Due a few issues, I decided to try to downgrade to kitkat I flashed via Odin a stock kk fw, but unluckyly I Haven't considered Knox bootloader, and now the phone stucks in bootloop. I tried to enter recovery, but it doesn't even work.
Is there any way to save it? Actually, I'm downloading stock lollipop firmware to flash it from Odin. Could it work ?
Thanks everyone will give help
Yes, flash the latest stock ROM in Odin to get the phone back to stock.
