How do I flash this zip?
Currently on CM 12.1 SNAPSHOT.
Edit: nvm flashed stock 5.1.1 firmware(the latest), then adb sideloaded the OTA.
I got it too, 1092
Sweden as well!
Hello from me!
Please i would be grateful if someone could give me a help to install the update. I can not install OTA, my device restarts and say that there was an error during installation.
First of all, i have 5.1 original firmware (23.16.3.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU retfr), with stock recovery and unlocked bootloader. I was root and i deleted some pre-installed apps like Google+, Hangouts etc. And the deletion was permanent.
Then i flashed the original logo to remove the warning screen from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/warning-message-unlocked-bootloader-t2871478
Yesterday i received the notification for the OTA and of course i remooved permanent SU from it's menu, and delete all SU binary etc.
But i still no install OTA.
Could anyone give me the steps how to install the OTA from the first post here?
I read about adb sideload but i have never used this kind of flashing. I do not have TWRP installed as i said, i am in stock recovery.
Motorola Device Manager says that there is no update file for my device!!!
Please help me. Thank you very very much...

Good news! Yes, I think the reason many don't share the OTA...and I could be wrong about this: AFAIK, once the update has been applied, it is erased from "cache".
I'm fairly certain that that you must extract the OTA -before- you apply the update, or it is gone...forever.
So someone would have to know this ahead of time, and extract it from cache before they let it install.
Good Luck, I'm sure it will show up soon.

That is correct.
For someone to share the OTA zip file, they must be rooted, download the OTA to their phone but NOT install it, then using a root capable file explorer navigate to /cache and copy the OTA to /SDCard or other folder *BEFORE* they install the update.
All OTA's erase themselves from the phone upon successful install.
This is good news.. Faux will get the update and revise his kernel
When Faux get the update I'm sure that he work perfectly on the kernel and upload and share the ota 4.4.4 retail france..
I have updated my phone to v21.21.16 but couldn't capture the OTA. Overall, it's a much better build than the previous one and a major change which I noticed is the activation of "Ambient Display". P.S. It's based on Android 5.0 not 5.0.1
Download Here! -- Credit to @KennyWuLee
Steps For Applying the Update:
Copy the ZIP to your Moto G.
Go into Recovery.
Select "apply update from sdcard"
Choose the File which you copied.
Wait till it finishes and select reboot.
This update is specifically for the XT1063 model and isn't meant for other variants.
Update Details:
Code:
v22.21.16
Android Version: 5.0
Build Number: LXB22.46-16

Same here! I received the OTA but didn't have stock recovery, so I went through a long process to get back to stock, then flashed a backup for lollipop via TWRP… Flashed stock recovery and now the update is gone. After all of that I realized the method to get stock recovery was quite simple, but answers on here and help aren't.. Really hoping someone can upload the OTA.. Whether being a TWRP backup or a side loaded zip..
If anyone else gets the OTA update they should adb logcat and grab the URL where is it downloading.

22.21.16 OTA for XT1063 (60m)
@KennyWuLee posted the OTA here days ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57379331&postcount=39
File name is a little confusing as the ota will always remain the previous build name on the device.
I have mine updated successfully.

some info about the update

it is said to be flashed in .82 stock recovery, I suggest to follow it to avoid issues. ?
When I tried to Restart my phone, the graph from the battery menu changed. It doesn't show the whole status of the battery since 100% hence it only shows the status when the phone was rebooted.
How to root 6.0?
I tried by flashing TWRP via fast-boot mode but it shows error of signature verification.
Please tell me how to root?
Android marshmallow is already available OTA.

OTA & Full ROM in firs post
Saw many post from new users and senior members as well and most of the time there are lot of confusion on the OTA part, especially for the rooted phone. Few says it gets (I am one of them) and few says it doesn’t as rooting capabilities modifies the system boot.img and also we have unlocked bootloader so device wont get the OTAs. I have been using the Huawei/Honor phones for 2 years now and have been getting all the OTAs on rooted phone and confirmed the same many time but still there are lot of confusion and users thinks they wont get OTA on rooted phone.
Just confirming here that you will receive OTAs on rooted phone without any issues. This is 2nd update on my phone since rooted in past 2 months.

Note- I am not using any firmware finder or other things for this as I dont trust on FF as it messed my Honor 5C in February and I given up on it.
Instructions-
If you are rooted but then rolled back to stock recovery, just download the OTA and update.
If you are rooted with TWRP recovery, flash the stock recovery first and then download the OTA to update. (TWRP wont be able to update OTA)

Oh OK, as screenshots were for another phone (5c maybe), i thought 5x could be different.
So only stuff needed is stock and recovery stock and check OTA ?
Other thing, can i downgrade with twrp backup or is an add-on ZIP to flash also to do like aex->b340->b370->b340->aex ?

That was for 6X.
You can restore the twrp backup to downgrade not sure if can go to MM from Nougat but Nougat 350 to Nougat 340 is possible.
Yes only thing is you need to be on stock rom, to check for uodate you can be on twrp no problem but to install, you need to switch to stock recovery.
OP updated with instructions.
