Too loud minimum volume in headphones. - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I have a problem with oneplus two.
The minimum level of volume in the headphones is too loud (very).
I have root + xposeed not afraid to change system files (if they are safe), but I would not want to play in changing kernels, etc.
Any suggestions?

Do you have the audio effects turned on? If so, try turning them off, you'll see that the volume will immediately drop significantly.

Anyone else have any idea?

up

Gravity Box [LP] from xposed
Media Tweaks > More music volume steps
You can add up to a total of 50 steps, allowing for lower volumes.

I use already 50 steps but it does not change the minimum and maximum values only those in between.
So it is still too loud

This is not true...
The minimum volumes are:
Stock - %6.6 (repeating) of the Max
50 steps - %2 of the Max
Though if it is still too loud or not for you is a different story.

I have no reason to disbelieve you
But the problem still is.

No worries... If the above isn't satisfactory, this option should solve your issue, but.... will have to change kernels.
If you are running OOS 2.2.0:
Flash boeffla kernel beta 19:
Here
Install the boeffla config app:
Here
Open boeffla config app
Grant root access
Goto Boeffla-sound tab
Turn on switch
Slide the volume sliders until acceptable
————————————————————————————————
Other than that...
I read of an app that is in the app store that may also be able to solve your issue called Fine Volume Control v2. It's not free and I can't confirm that it will do what you need.

Adjust increment value for volume up/down

Does anyone know if its possible to change the increment value for volume up/down? It seems to increase/decrease the volume by 20 each time the buttons are pressed. Would love to be able to adjust this to 10 or 25 instead.
I would like to know this too.
I'd like each time I press the side VOL UP or DOWN that the slider only moves 1 notch rather than 3 at a time. Sometimes when I'm in my bed listening to MP3's - 3 notches is too much!!!
I have same problem n asked a few days ago
I didnt find the best solution but found a solution none the less ..

Same problem for me.
This subject is talked in many threads here and in other forums but without any solution.
Any one can help please.
Thx
Yep - this really bugs me too when listening to music in a relatively quiet environment.
you can try using HD tweak to limit the max volume, i found that in doing this it decreased the amount of volume change per bar, of course this also limits the max volume to can ever have so its your call but setting it to its lowest seems plenty loud enough for me.
Its not perfect or even a solution but its a start.
whats really enoying is the alarm, you simply cant get windows basic alarm to be quiet, its either off or too loud, G-Alarm takes care of this however.
any leads on this? im assuming it is set somewhere in the registry? ideas guys??
cheers]
Mat
Nothing new about that ?
You can set the max music volume indipendantly to system volume. I have music volume set to 25% which makes is listenable across the whole range of system volumes.
I use Julien Schapmen's excellent Advanced Config Tool to set music volume, it's under the HTC Audio Manager section.

i guess there should be a reg value for this
Thank you
I'm guessing a software volume controller
and using a button mapper
could get around this

[Q] Low in call volume

Please help. I am running XBROM and everything is perfect except for low in call volume. I have looked for a tweak but am not sure how to fix this. I am new to all this. I KNOW IT IS NOT MAX IN CALL UI, also the media app does not fix this, it states that in the description of the up. So please help
If it's not this one :
•Q - How do i increase the in call volume, its set to max (10) but is still too quiet?
•A - Change this reg key : HKCU/ControlPanel/Volume/MaxinCallUIVolume from 10 to 15 (15 is loud enough for me, be careful going much higher)

Then what could it be ?
UI only changes the amount of numbers in increases. So instead of max loudness being 10 it increases it to 15 but the 15 is the same loudness as 10.

You can use sound enhancer and media volume settings, avail from the htc hub, and market apps
Hmm i got the same problemen changed that key but didnt work.
Yea, it is way too low. Sometimes have to put calls on speakerphone to hear. Tried the fix given, but like others, it didn't make it any louder.
Media volume app does not increase in call volume either. Is there a registry tweak or not?
Agree definately too low ...
Same problem here...
I wish I knew how to fix this, I would. Maybe some of the roms are louder? I am running XB and moonlight wasn't any better. I might switch to android for this and tethering.

[Q] Volume: Expand Setting Steps?

I've been running Sacs V3 Rom for a month now...awesome Rom! The one thing that keeps annoying me and may not have anything to do with the ROM itself is that the volume levels are way too loud and don't allow for fine volume control. Is there a way to expand the volume step levels beyond the standard 7 for more fine control? Or is there a way to decrease the volume beyond the lowest level? Even at the lowest setting the ringtone startles me every time my phone rings because it's so loud (changing the ringtone doesn't help).
I have tried various volume control apps but either they don't change the fine volume step control, or they just plain don't work. "Fine Volume Control V2" works about the best because it gives 1% steps but it is very buggy and the volume settings don't "stick". I have also tried using the Xposed Installer with XVolume, which is supposed to increase the step size from 7 to as much as 45, but that didn't work either.
Any advice or others fine volume control apps I'm missing that would provide more control?
Maybe when you installed you selected the "loud" volume hack rather than the "slight" or "Stock". You could dirty flash and select the stock or slight mod.

I did not see any kind of hack to set the volume level when originally installing the ROM, nor when I tried to dirty flash it.

Reduce minimal volume level?

Hi everybody,
If have a little "problem". I often use my Axon before I sleep in the evening for watching some news or youtube videos. My wife is often already sleeping next to me, so I don't want to disturb her.
My experience is, that it's nearly impossible to watch videos without headset because the minimum volume level is still much too high. The step between mute and minimum is crazy in my eyes/ears.
It's even worse, when I switch Dolby off. Is there any solution to set the volume in smaller steps and to a lower level?
By the way...it's almost the same with the mimimum brightness level, anyways that's not disturbing me, but maybe there's a way to furhter reduce it.
What version of Android are you using? I'm on Nougat and I find that both brightness and volume can go down more than sufficiently.

I updated to Nougat recently. No difference.
Go to settings -> sound -> dolby atmos (click left of the slider on the name) -> click custom 1 -> click custom 1 again
Dragging the line on the equalizer all the way to the bottom made sounds levels bearable to me at least. I also have sound leveler and all the other settings off now I think.
You could download fine volume control or similar apps to make it really quiet.
@ Droggi87,,
This a good method to change, you can choose manual operation in the settings.
Go to settings -> sound -> dolby atmos (click left of the slider on the name) -> click custom 1 -> click custom 1 again

Bluetooth Volume Steps too big

Hey guys, is there a way to customize the volume steps when using the Vol+/- keys? I am using bluetooth headset and the increase per volume + step is way to big, and from 0 (being muted) to +3 is fine, the next step is already way to much, I would like to customize how much of an increase I get when using the volume buttons.
Is that possible without root?
thanks for the help,
cheers
I've had that same issue with my BT speaker, Android N seems to link the volume sliders of the phone and the actual speaker.
Luckily you don't need root to turn this off:
Go to the Developer settings and enable ""Disable max volume", then you're able to have separate volume levels on your smartphone and speaker again.
Cheers

Haven't tried it with bluetooth yet but it should work. This app overrides the default 15 click volume control on android and gives you up to 100 click increments for more fine tuned volume control. Best part is you don't need root.

Found the option! Thanks a lot.
I find that using PowerAmp's Bluetooth setting for "Direct Volume Control" works better than stock since then it adjusts the actual volume of the Bluetooth device rather than the system's output volume.
You have no idea how long i was looking for this solution ("disable max volume").
A thousand thanks!

found it. it is called "disable absolute volume" , I needed to restart the device. thanks
Can't find absolute volume
This is really upseting. I use this phone just for listening music I have the same problem.
I went to developer options and I don't have the "absolute volume" option avalable. Can anyone help me?
Xperia z3
Android 6.0.1
Thank you very much. It worked on my Xiaomi mi9
Disabling absolute volume in developer settings was really helpful for me. I had a problem with my s20 Ultra because when using bluetooth earphones the volume steps were too big and there were too consecutive steps where the volume was either too quiet or too loud. Now I can control the volume in a finer way.
