[Q] Very Odd installed appz after update <BRICKED>

Hoi Hoi people
i got myself a GT540 Optimus <yes total newbeee to android>
It came with a deal for free and its my 1st android :0
anyway
After USING the official way (silly me )to update I now have some odd Portuguese apps installed ? Stuff from SAPO.pt ???
I didn't do any Sync backup as i just got the phone and its basically empty
I used the Updater tool from LG connected and all went well But after I look I was able to change the language to ENG but it has quiet a few Portuguese Apps installed...
I am in Holland so i cannot see how this updater decided to give me a POR image ?
Now i could make a guess and say the IMEI is for Portuguese market(?) and the dutch INTERNET cheapo middleman I got the deal from has bought a bunch on the gray market ..
Whatever it is i don't care
I would like you guys now to point me the right way
I just flash the thing myself
I think the tool i need is called KDZ ?
Please someone point me to the right post I am looking but seem to get nowhere

u update using the official LG tool and they play a freckin foreign rom onto my LG (SAPO.PT) then I cant update it at all anymore using the tool . So i look for alternatives but thats just made it worse ...

This is a guide I followed from another forum, and posted elsewhere with some minor additions in case anyone had problems.
The guide is from a forum post at the android forums,it is NOT my work, the added bits are mostly what I have found from browsing here and from asking questions. While I can't be held liable if you mess your phone up having done so myself I thought this could helpa few people and save them searching various threads for answers so hope it helps
The guide
To install this ROM you need to have fastboot enabled on your phone. If you have Android 1.6/2.1 installed from LG, then fastboot is not enabled. I will explain how to enable fastboot on your phone (this involves re-flashing/replacing your currently installed firmware):

KDZ Updater Carphone Warehouse Unlocked.zip can be downloaded at h**p://goo.gl/7aRTc - A link to a zip archive with all the files needed to flash to Android version 2.1 with fastboot (Carphone Warehouse Unlocked)
KDZ Updater Europe Open.zip can be downloaded at h**p://goo.gl/BOcYT - A link to a zip archive with all the files needed to flash toAndroid version 2.1 with fastboot (Europe Open)
Download the version that best applies to you, if you live in the UK, I'd recommend you download the Carphone Warehouse Unlocked version, whereas if you live in Europe, I'd recommend the Europe Open version (simple right? )
I live in the UK and used the open rom from Europe as the Carphone Warehouse rom would not install
Now, how to flash these versions; I'll explain in detail how to flash the ROM's from starting with backing up.
Instructions to install ROM with Fastboot:
1. Before you start, make sure you backup all your data by installing the z4root.1.3.0.apk file onto your phone, then open it and choose 'Permanent Root'. Your phone will root and reboot. Then go to the Market and install 'MyBackup Root', open it and do a backup of your apps and personal data (contacts, sms, call log etc.) Once this is done, go to Settings>SD Card and Phone Storage>Unmount SD Card, a notification in the notification bar should appear saying 'SD Card safe to remove'. Remove the battery cover and remove the SD card and store it in a safe place. Then continue to step 2.
2. Extract the .zip file you downloaded to your computer (e.g. your desktop). Open the folder and install MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser (msxml.msi).
3. Once that has finished, install LGAndroidDriver_WHQL_ML_Ver1.0_All_Win7.exe which are the drivers so your computer will recognize your phone.
4. Next, open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
(i) Change 'Type' to '3GQCT' *THIS IS A MUST, THE UPDATE WILL NOT WORK OTHERWISE AND YOU MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE*
(ii) Make sure 'PhoneMode' is set to 'DIAG'
(iii) Browse for the 'V20B_00+Fastboot.kdz' file.
5. Prepare the phone by enabling USB Debugging by going to Settings>Applications>Development>Enable USB Debugging and connect the phone to the computer via USB cable and wait for the drivers to install for the phone.
6. Click 'Launch software update' and do not use your computer until the update is complete. The update will take roughly 10-20 mins to complete.
If you have a problem with this try a different rom, this guide offers two to choose from.
Instructions to install CyanogenMod:
Once the update is complete, your phone will reboot, what you need to do is power off the phone and whilst the phone is off, press and hold the 'Camera' button all the way ANDpower on the phone, make sure you hold the 'Camera' button. The phone will display the LG logo and disappear, then display a blank screen. The phone is now in fastboot mode!
Now you want to download this file: Flashing CyanogenMod.zip and extract it to a folder called 'Android' (without the quotes '') on the C: drive (you'll probably need to make this folder yourself.
1. Now open CMD with administrator privileges (Search for CMD in the start menu and right click on 'cmd' and click 'Run as Administrator' )
2. Connect the phone to your computer via USB cable and wait for the necessary drivers to install.
If when connected with a usb cable the computer says "waiting for device" and nothing else happens try installing the fastboot drivers. You can do this by going to the control panel of your pc, from the Windows start menu, opening the list of devices and where you see the one representing your phone (likely, as was the case with me, it will say android and have a yellow exclamation mark over it). Different versions of Windows do things slightly different but what you need to do is simply update the driver by choosing the icons properties box choosing UPDATE or INSTALL DRIVER and when asked pointing it to the folder where you unzipped the drivers.
3. Then go back to the cmd window and type:

4. Your phone will now reboot with CyanogenMod 6.1.1 (Android 2.2.1). The first boot might take longer than a normal boot.
If your phone stays at a blank screen you simply forgot to do one of the above steps, in which case simply repeat them. It is likely if that happens that you simply forgot the flash boot image instruction.
5. You can now re-insert your SD card and go to Settings>SD Card and Phone Storage>Mount SD Card
Enjoy!
The instructions for flashing both the firmware with fastboot and flashing CyanogenMod are included in the zip archives called 'Readme'. I'll update the links so that you'll always have the most up to date version of CyanogenMod available for download, note that if you choose to update your phone you will loose all your data including apps etc. so backup before you update
And that, with a few comments added by myself, is the guide.
Once you have set your phone up the way you want power off your phone. Hold the HOME and POWER buttons down while the LG logo appears and you will see a menu appear on screen.
Using the volume down key to navigate the different menu choices, and the camera button to select an option choose the BACKUP OR RESTORE option and from the sub menu that it will give you choose BACKUP.
This will make a backup of your phone AND all your data, if you ever mess up an update or think you have damaged your phone in the future simply holdthe POWER and HOME buttons down and when the menu appears choose the RESTORE option

1) Get it repaired/replaced.

worked a charm until reboot

pull out battery, sim and sd
connect phone with computer
disable lg modem in the device manager
flash a rom with fastboot
go in fastboot by camara+power
connect to computer
type 'fastboot -w' and 'fastboot reboot' in cmd

You can try by pulling out your battery, SIM card and SD card...
Note to you: Try everything that is possible and don't give up. Maybe you will fix it if you try.

Try a hard reset as well...
Hold down VOLUME UP + HOME + SEARCH buttons for 5 seconds. (But phone needs to be turned on...)

i have a major problem with my e400
first i installed cyanogen 9
then i tried to install SDMergE400 but i couldn't proceed to step 2(status 7)
then i had to reinstall cyanogen 9 and now it doesn't recognize internal sd and external sd.
although it can see the external sd but can nto read it.
now i just formated everything through cwm based recovery,from sd to emmc(i don't know whatis this)
now all my smartphone does when i turn on is to show lg's logo and it seems that i can't access cwm based recovery.
i dont know what to do.please help,i broked my smartphone

2nd: Download official Stock firmware. Here You can choose any of the following or if you already download one just use it.
3rd. Turn off your phone. Use this combination. Press Power button + vol up + vol down at the same time. You will be directed to EMERGENCY MODE. (This time your phone will be detected by kdz updater tool).
4th: Now use kdz updater tool. Use this settings, TYPE should be 3GQCT/Phone modeIAG. Now choose the kdz file that you have downloaded then press "Launch software update:.

i forgot to mention you must install LG united drivers first. And make sure you follow the step 3. When your phone boots it must be in emergency mode, your screen turns to yellow with a Emergency mode notice.

1.First download recovery from "https://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager" for "lg optimus l3" to your pc and rename it to recovery
2.Download the latest drivers for L3 from lg website and install it
3.Connect the phone to computer and enable debugging Setting->apps->development->enable debugging....
4.Download the adb and fastboot files i have given below
5.Extract them to your desktop and copy the recovery.img to desktop
6.open cmd prompt and type these cmds in order
adb reboot bootloader ( this will take you to a blank screen with some white writings and wait for writings to stop)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this will install cwm recovery to your phone and wait for 2 mins)
fastboot reboot (this will reboot your phone)
7.download "SDMergE400_mod_gellmar_crazybyte.zip without old step4" from this link "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2215406"
8.Extract files from "SDMergE400_mod_gellmar_crazybyte.zip without old step4"(you will get "SDMergE400_step1.zip" and "SDMergE400_step2.zip") and put these files in sdcard
9.download cyanoid and put it to your sdcard....
10.go to recovery by turning off phone and press volume down +home + power
11. In recovery go to "mount and storage" option and format system and data and cache partitions only ....only once
12.then go back and click option "install zip from sdcard"... browse your sdcard and find SDMergE400_step1.zip and install it and phone will reboot into a new recovery ...after that install SDMergE400_step2.zip in same way...
13.then install cyanoid.zip in same way
14. after installation cyanoid rom..... click reboot option in main menu of recovery .... your system will reboot and will take some time to install cyanoid

yes u can but u need to root your phone in dat case ...
root your phone and install rom manager from google play store ... and from rom manager install recovry ... simple

like:
adb ?
ports ?
usb composite device ?
does phone display anything ?
does it boot ?
can you get into "download mode" ? (pull battery out, plug usb to pc, press and hold vol- button, plug usb to mobile, wait few seconds, put battery back) it should display Download Mode on black screen then try kdz

Kernels for LG E400
Hi,
I'm a new user of XDA, but I've already tested part of ROMs for my phone (model in title).
I have a little question about kernels: some ROMs have a kernel in other ZIP file. But after correct installation (by CWM Recovery) I have blurred screen. Now I'm using JellyBeanRevenge (or some like that ) and it's work fine, because Author gave good instructions; but in some of other kernels don't works. Why?

Are you sure the kernel was for your baseband ? ie v10x; v20x ?
when changing roms v10 to v20 and back certain files get rewritten and not in same format anymore so errors occur
also not all kernels are stable and everyday use
so.. read about the source and features / defects of kernel you want to install and ensure you check if your base stock rom is v10 or v20

1) So I'm completely new, is there an introduction guide to rooting and installing custom ROMs? Just so I can know what I'm doing.
2) I'm running linux right now, do most popular methods support it or should I do everything on windows "just in case"?
3) Are there any recommended ROMs or mods for low specs phones like the L3? I currently have a L3 E431g I'd like to mod

DON'T INSTALL ANYTHING FOR LG L3 IT WILL BREAK YOUR PHONE !!!
most tools made for windows and that's what i would use (virtual machine will work)
first use program and youtube guide in my signature (show content) to root your phone using vroot (its easy and works on any software version )

if your phone has 1 sim-card
you can unlock bootolader and install custom recovery using things in first post
ROM's Are UNDER DEVELOPMENT dont ask how long (about ~2 weeks)
there is mod made by @slipsystem but still in beta stage so no official release (subscribe to E430 thread for update in post #2 )

Thanks for the anwser IGGYVIP. I'm guessing that the E430 and E431 are similar enough that almost everything will work on both phones, right?
I already rooted mine, and I guess I'll wait and see how slipsystem's mod works when is released.

yes they are i cannot find any hardware difference
did your bootloader unlock ? please post result with your phone model and firmware you are running in e430 thread
i will release beta of slipsystem mod tomorrow and full version should be soon

Actually I lied . I though that I had rooted it but I actually never ran the program. I'm trying now but I can't seem to make it work (the vroot method). VROOT connects to the device, installs some chinese manager app, reboots and then nothing happens. VROOT eventually shows that it couldn't root the device and asks if I wanna retry, but it never manages to root it.
Does the superoneclick works on the 430?

VROOT VERSION 1.7.3 thats the one i have installed and it works

You install rom with SP Flash Tool, extract Zip and load scatter file in, and make sure tick FAC, and give it right path. Then just click Firmware upgrade, wait till it finished, then unplug tablet then plug back in, and it should start flashing rom, make sure tablet is turned off to be in Preloader mode,

thank you for the information but i am asking if you have a direct zip file to just "install directly via recovery mode/ install zip from sd card then succesfly change the rom of the tablet" because its the easiest way "i" think to fix the bootloop that i change the device model in my lenovo a3000 build.prop then got into bootloop, that's why i need a direct zip file to install it directly and easily. Thank you

If you have a bricked tablet, just flash firmware from Azam thread. Just extract rar file and load scatter file from in target_bin folder in SP Flash tools, then tick FAC and make sure it is headed to the right path. Then just click Firmware upgrade, once it has finished validating the files, simply unplug the tablet and plug back in, and the bar at the bottom of SP flash tools will turn red, then it will start flashing new rom/firmware onto your tablet, Once completed it will come up with a green circle saying completed. Tablet must be turned off to access Preloader mode.

yes I tried it AZAM'S technique but my laptop does not show up an MT65x that will show up in DEVICE MANAGER , it just show CDS SERIAL which I dont know how. ONE LAST THING ABOUT CONNECTING THE TABLET BEFORE DOWNLOAD IN SP FLASH TOOL? WHAT MODE IS THAT? RECOVERY MODE? BOOTLOADER MODE? THEN AFTER DOWNLOADING, PLUG THE DEVICE USING BOOTLOADER MODE RIGHT?

OH BTW AFTER MT65Xx it I CAN NOT UPDATE DRIVER, it just stay there AFTER AWHILE , IT POPS AS ANDROID PHONE>ALCATEL ANDROID ADB INTERFACE ? We have the same problem. I'm still fixing it though. I would say its difficult to solve this tablet problem.
Do the SP Flash tool and research too. It really helps.

Blu Studio C Hd s090q stuck on logo screen

Hello everyone.
I have a Blu Studio C HD s090q stuck on logo screen forever.
I have downloaded this room here http://www.mediafire.com/download/d9bdr1dbw4qk9ic/BLU_S090Q_V07_REPAIR.rar
and SP Flashtool v5.1428.00 and MTK USB drivers which I have installed and restarted computer after that.

The thing is after I click "Download" button of SP flashtool and then connect my device (without battery as suggested on tutorial) and press vol up, nothing happens.
What should I do? Could somebody give me a little help? I have bought this phone just 3 weeks ago.

Edit: I just figured out what was wrong after many and many tries and I would like to share in case somebody have a issue like mine.
First off, I had to download and installSP Flashtool ver 5.1628 and MKT USB Drivers and I also installed MT65xx Preloader Auto-Driver.
After I installed all these, I had to manually install "MediaTek DA USB VCOM (Android)" driver to my computer, then as I had bricked my phone by replacing KingRoot for SuperSU, while following previous tutorials, instead of choosing option "Format All + Download" (which wasn't working at all in my case), I picked the option called "Firmware update". Hit Download > while pressing vol + button, plugged usb cord / cable > SP Flashtool started downloading and I released vol+ button.
That's it! If somebody have any doubt, feel free to contact me.

Did you installed MTK drivers?
In some cases you have to install it manually to your computer.

Don't format the phone. Try the FIRMWARE UPGRADE option!

There are several different BLU Studio C HD models. What is the MODEL NUMBER of your device? And what is the specific complete name of the ROM that you flashed?
Sounds like you flashed the wrong ROM.

You had a custom recovery on your phone? How exactly did you "download" the custom ROM to your device? You installed it from a zip using the custom recovery? Please explain.
Also what is the EXACT FILE NAME of the ROM you downloaded. Ron Genuine is not something I'm familiar with. Please answer the question I asked you. Without the exact file name, I cannot help you.

Hello Friend, I hope that even in these days I can respond. I have a problem with my Android ROM BLU Q S090Q / Android 6.0. I installed the ROM and everything perfect, I solved the Bricked of the phone using the MTK Droid Tools 2.5.3, the problem is that I could not rootearlo with any program (KingRoot, OneclicRoot, etc.) to be able to change the IMEI that I have it with another number and does not activate the Android's antenna. The Recovery of this Terminal is the original that brings the ROM that was installed, my question is: Will you install the TWRP you mention here and then load the SuperSU Binary 'to Rootearlo? What method can I use to robe my terminal? :silly:
I also read something on the Net about an Android ROM Nougat on BLU Studio G2 (Android 7.1.1 / CM14.1), is this true or is it a Fake?
Posd. I can not change the IMEI with the option "Engineer Mode" because in the terminal, the line inside the menu "CDS information" does not exist or is hidden, the other programs to activate it are NOT installed or blocked with an error message, I leave some captures to give you an idea.
