Hi just ordered myself a samsung galaxy A3 on o2.
It is locked to o2 and has o2 branding.
Would like to unlock it and use a three sim with it but unfortunately o2 wont do it for 12 months and i dont know any pay monthly customer.
If i install unbranded rom on it then will it unlock?
Will really appreciate some help on this
Can flashing unlock the device ? I have exactly the same problem , My Samsung A3 SM-A300FU phone is locked to O2 , then i flashed a different firmware. Now I have coverage by EE | and roaming by my main network provider . I have full phone coverage. I don't get the UNLOCK Code message as well. BUT I CAN'T Recieve calls , send text or use any benefits of the inserted SIM Card . Has anyone found an answer ?
Try to flashing it to the stock rom check out the rom at sammobile.com/firmwares

Hi Samsung Galaxy S i9000 im on t mobile uk, i heard before i flash new firmware i need sim unlocked before use.
the uk models are not locked
thats strange because i put o2 sim card in my phone and it ask for simlock code
where did you buy the phon from?
online or in Orange kiosks/stores ?
T-mobile shop
ohhhhhhhh i see now, it seems like T mobile locked their releases.
keep in mind, those are not the same models as the USA Tmobiles
so i cant flash new firmware from samsung.firmware.com
yes you can flash, but the flash will not unlock the phone
you don't need to unlock the phone to flash a new firmware

To get rid of carrier branding, you will need to flash unlocked stock rom using ODIN. Germany(csc=DBT) rom is the best for the SM-N910F. It will get rid of all bloatwares and carrier branding.
You can download the ROM from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...ermany-dbt-t3029508/post59616447#post59616447
Hi,don't know how the previous owner unlocked this phone but when I send email etc it says I'm on 02 ? I'm on T-Mobile & the sim does work no problem, the rom your saying Germany ?? Would I not be better of with a T-Mobile stock or will that fill it with bloatware as well ?
I want to do something along these lines
I had an O2 Note 4, unlocked with a code and an EE SIM. Running on the German BTU Lollipop. Now though I'd like to flash it via Odin with the stock 4.4 EE ROM. Is this possible? Currently I have tried to do it but I get "volume size too big 245760 < 512000" when I try to flash it from Odin.
My basic question though is: can I effectively change my O2 UK supplied Note 4 ROM with the EE one. I want to use the EE tap and pay app with my shiny new EE NFC SIM and this doesn't appear to be allowed unless I'm on an EE ROM, in the future I'd also like to use EE wifi calling when that is released for Note 4 via (presumably) the EE Note 4 Lollipop update too.
I have samsung galaxy s5 (sm-g900f) from my country Philippines... my phone is a postpaid plan from "SMART" one of our country network provider... the phone can only use sim card from SMART... the problem is i want to use any sim card in my country but i cant because the phone is lock... i have search in web and found a OFFICIAL firmware of S5 from our country and it is already Unloack (OPENLINE)... i want to flash this using ODIN-PC to make my phone OPENLINE and so that i can use any sim in my country... what i'm asking is does it void the warranty if i do this to my phone???

flashing the locked phone with an openline firmware through odin wo'nt unlock your phone. i tried it to my officemate S5 which is globe locked. after flashing, the phone is still globe locked.
Hello!
A week ago I got a Samsung Galaxy A5 as a gift from my wife. The phone is locked in Vodafone (Romania). I am using Telekom (Romania). I would want to unlock the phone from Vodafone and use it with my Telekom SIM card. Can anybody tell me whether reflashing Telekom (Romania) firmware via Odin is enough? Is it a risky procedure? Thanks!

Installing the firmware for another region or carrier will not unlock the phone. You must either order an unlock code or find a service center that has an unlock box, like z3x box or something of the sort.
Thank you for support.
i suggest u use unlockriver.com

Way too expensive!
Its locked but after the carrier agreement has expired, i think the unlock code is cheaper or even free.

Hi. Recently i bought an S10+ and what i heard from the buyer is that the S10+ was locked on EE UK. (And after, he unlocked it)
I'm stuck on May update (SE7 EVR) so i was thinking to change the ROM to POL(Poland) for example.
It will be locked again on EE UK if i flash with Odin and change the ROM?
After the network sim unlock phone is unlocked no matter the rom.
