To get rid of carrier branding, you will need to flash unlocked stock rom using ODIN. Germany(csc=DBT) rom is the best for the SM-N910F. It will get rid of all bloatwares and carrier branding.
You can download the ROM from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...ermany-dbt-t3029508/post59616447#post59616447
Hi,don't know how the previous owner unlocked this phone but when I send email etc it says I'm on 02 ? I'm on T-Mobile & the sim does work no problem, the rom your saying Germany ?? Would I not be better of with a T-Mobile stock or will that fill it with bloatware as well ?
I want to do something along these lines
I had an O2 Note 4, unlocked with a code and an EE SIM. Running on the German BTU Lollipop. Now though I'd like to flash it via Odin with the stock 4.4 EE ROM. Is this possible? Currently I have tried to do it but I get "volume size too big 245760 < 512000" when I try to flash it from Odin.
My basic question though is: can I effectively change my O2 UK supplied Note 4 ROM with the EE one. I want to use the EE tap and pay app with my shiny new EE NFC SIM and this doesn't appear to be allowed unless I'm on an EE ROM, in the future I'd also like to use EE wifi calling when that is released for Note 4 via (presumably) the EE Note 4 Lollipop update too.

yes you can flash, but the flash will not unlock the phone
you don't need to unlock the phone to flash a new firmware
Hi Guys my i9505 was originally on UK o2 network with all the network bloatware (4.2.2 old bootloader/knox free) I got the phone network unlocked with a code via the imei number.
Due to a warranty issue i will need to flash the original carrier rom which the phone came with.
What i would like to know is, will flashing the stock carrier rom affect the network lock? Like would i need to network unlock the phone again? Also are there any potential efs folder issues that could arrise? Any advice much appreciated, thanks.

Ive flashed O2 4.2/4.3, EE 4.3, BTU 4.2/4.3 and my phone was still unlocked, and no problems with efs.
Mines was unlocked with a 8 digit number from O2.
But you should still backup your efs.I dont because Im not worried about this phone......
I see that there is a Vodafone Lollipop ROM available for download at sammobile (sorry can't post a link as I'm a noob) yet the EE one is still lagging behind. Can I still use the Vodafone ROM and unlock my phone to continue using my EE sim? Or are there other differences that may brick my device?
Providing you unlock it first.
Hi just ordered myself a samsung galaxy A3 on o2.
It is locked to o2 and has o2 branding.
Would like to unlock it and use a three sim with it but unfortunately o2 wont do it for 12 months and i dont know any pay monthly customer.
If i install unbranded rom on it then will it unlock?
Will really appreciate some help on this
Can flashing unlock the device ? I have exactly the same problem , My Samsung A3 SM-A300FU phone is locked to O2 , then i flashed a different firmware. Now I have coverage by EE | and roaming by my main network provider . I have full phone coverage. I don't get the UNLOCK Code message as well. A friend said flashing new modem may help is this possible or no reply way to network unlock in UK?
Any help is much appreciated thank you
What is the model number on download mode?
The model is showing as sm-n9005

Carriers will use a custom csc file on a stock rom which means there could be multiple carriers with the same phone and different csc files. For instance, I have a bell phone and loaded Rogers firmware on the phone but the phone remains locked to bell.
