OP2 not locking - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

is anyone of you facing that your op2 is not getting locked unless you reboot the device? I've noticed that I can unlock it with my finger but after that it seems that it just wont enable the pattern to unlock it, basically it is unsafe.
I have a moto 360 as a trusted device so not sure if that affects it.

Your trusted device is most likely the issue
"Add device to keep this one unlocked when it is nearby"
To ensure it is working, leave your moto 360 at home for the day, check that the pattern lock screen appears after being away from it.

Any other methods of locking the screen? Here's why.

Ok the flip down to unlock the phone is an ok idea I guess. However, I noticed 2 things.
1: When you bring your phone up with the "Flip screen down to unlock" message, you can just press "Menu" and it unlocks it.
2: When I am at work, I keep my phone in my pocket. Several times I have pulled my phone out and it is in the middle of different programs. So somehow the phone get's unlocked when in my pocket.
Is their anything numerical I can do to have to punch in a sequence of numbers to unlock the phone? I am not a fan of the "Draw the line" option the Hero has. So I wanted to see what, if any, other options are out there for locking and unlocking the phone (not a root type of unlock, a screen lock)
Thank you,
Whiteice
OOOOOOLD issues. We have all cursed HTC for their way of thinking in this matter.

Odd issue w/ pattern unlock

For some reason it seems that upon reaching the draw to unlock screen that the phone doesn't want to unlock unless the pattern is drawn quickly?? Anyone else?
Don't care to look for the official term, but it's the draw to unlock screen w/ 9 circles.

Fingerprint issues

How do you get the phone to recognize youe fingerprint? It is so annoying how it keep failing to recognize the fingerprint and asks to enter the code or pattern.

Go to Settings -> Security -> Nexus Imprint. Follow on screen instructions to register your fingerprints (up to 5).
I believe there is a setting to not have to input a code every time, check to see if that is your issue. I only have to enter a pin after a reboot, then just the fingerprint unlocks the phone.

I didn't explain myself well I guess. It happens to not recognize the fingerprint and then asks for pattern/code. It is annoying.
First I would say to clean it well. Second i would suggest you reset the print and add extra sets too. Also what ROM, firmware ect are you running? I have had flawless experiences with my sensor across various ROMs. I do a full set scan for 4 fingers. My 2 pointers and my 2 middles as well as another scan set for odd positions. This ensures no matter what I'm holding or position my phone's in it will be easily unlocked.

Running chroma 2/3 build with february firmware but I don't think that's the issue. I will try to register it again. Thanks.

I've had the same problem since the last week after updating a resurrection remix version. I think it's been doing something weird, but it'll unlock normal in the car and stuff so I don't know. Seems like when I put my finger on the sensor it will wake the device and want me to enter a PIN. If I put an unregistered finger on the sensor it won't wake it it'll stay black screen. It might be something to do with when you are at home with smart unlock. Hmmm....

I thought it could be the smart unlock and removed it but still same thing. Might have to go all stock and test it again. I had another nexus 6P before and that one you get unlocked really fast without any issues.
Edit: Found the issue. Double tap to lock ftom Nova was forcing the device to request pattern or pin.

Security Unlock Issue

I have a security issue, unless its me being silly.
I am fully stock unrooted.
I have never had any problem until today and I realised my phone unlocked without a pass code or finger print, I know this because I always wear rubber gloves and have to type the pin in to get into my phone, I do this day in day out and today after several unlocks it stopped asking for the pin.
I have uploaded a video showing what happens
It funny though because when I click the lock on the bottom of the unlock screen it prompts me for a pin or finger print, but if I don't touch the lock, just a simple swipe unlocks it.
Is there something I have pressed by accident which causes this?

Check your smart lock settings. Is anything enabled?

I can't replicate the issue here - not sure what would cause this other than the smart bluetooth lock as suggested by the above poster.

I haven't changed anything, I have cleaned the finger print sensor, no new apps installed.
Weird
Put it on charge and it's fixed it's self!

Bypassing Fingerprintsensor bug?

Hi everyone,
I notice that I can bypass my fingerprintsensor with tapping 3 times with the wrong finger on it and after the third time, the phone is unlocked.
I am on the last stock oxygenOS.
Does somebody else have this bug?
No.
No.
Yes I found that since the 1st day.
Now I tried twice with with a unregistered finger with the 3rd try another unregistered finger and it is unlocked!!!!
not all the time.

Doesn't happen to me. Have you got a pattern enabled?
After 3 failed finger print attempts the phone prompts for a pattern.
After testing, I was shocked to see that this worked on my phone...but after a little testing, it only unlocks on the third attempt when the phone has a smartlock device connected and doesn't require a PIN anyways.
If I turn Bluetooth off, the third wrong finger button press simply turns on the screen and asks for my PIN.

Smartlock was the key here!
I turned trusted places "home" off and on the 3rd try asked for the pin code.
So basically if I'm in trusted places or connected to a trusted device after 3 consecutive failed fingerprints it will open my phone without pin code

I think that's the point of smart Lock... ? So you don't have to unlock even with FP. Just swipe up and it should unlock...
That is interesting. Would only work around safety devices/places?
