HTC TITAN rom not working as it should

hi guys
I know i'm probably outdated on that, but its something new i wanted to do for some time now.
I tried to flash to a custom rom, and lots of things don't work well, even though on lots of post i've taken it for
they do. like slow internet, video and camera tell me unable to initialize camera, failed to set up camera device,
an i cant even go into setting.
also gps doesnt work with google maps

since i'm new at that, i followed mr free

from everything i've read, here is what i did
loaded Hard-SPL-MFG.exe to unlock
installed custom rom, tried 2 of them (mentioned below)
installed my carrier telus
then i tried to update my radio to 3.42.50 (currently 3.42.02) but had error 328 invalid command (tried 4 RUU, no
luck)
then i went forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366689 followed their sugestions, still same
for the past 6 hours, i did 10+ variation and reflashing
I've hit a dead end, plz help

Always update radio by sd card flash. Much more reliable.

ok, so i followed everything there
unlocked with Olipro 2.40, then updated tom to 3.42.50 (had to format card mulyiple times on vista for it to load from sd card, but got it working)
installed Windows Mobile 6.5 build 21139 CR2, and still experiencing same issue
no gps, camera same msg unable to initialize camera, failed to set up camera device
what else can I do ? I think the rom works fine, as it did for everyone else
any other ideas?

Is this a verizon phone. If the camera doesn't work it is a rom issue of some sort. Does this rom have the nuekernal that disables the camera.

ok, so i googled up nuekernal , its kinda of multi-carrier rom addon
but since i already loaded my carrier cab, and unlocked the phone, shouldn't tha already work.

Setting -> System-> then look for kernel or something like that. It should have camera enable high mode, or low mode or something like that. Restart and you should be good.
Note when flashing a radio use a non high speed 2GB card or less. Won't work on anything else.
For GPS Start > Settings > System > External GPS and make sure it's not just 911

i've checked setting\system, also in programs and none of the kernels are found.
for flashing, i used 512mb micro sd card, and it didnt work when i formated with xp (did it multiple times) then i read somewhere it worked by formatting with vista, it didn't at first (kept getting msg "no image file" then after 3 or 4 times formatting it worked.
Now i have radio 3.42.50
about GPS, i didnt see 911 anywhere
gps program port -> com 4
gps hardware port -> none baude rate 4800
and manage gps automaticaly is checked
should i install that kernel ? or look for it somewhere else?

HELP External SD Issues

After rooted the official gingerbread my device was never the same.
Let me try to explain what is happening to see if someone can help.
Official roms:
When I turn my device to PC via USB and then choose the option Mount USB Storage what happens is in the device the Android stays Green with the option below to mount storage, the SD card is apparently un-mounted from device but in the PC I can see the SD card content normally and see it as a removable storage drive
Custom roms:
When I turn my device to PC via USB and then choose the option Mount USB Storage what happens is in the device the Android stays Green with the option below to mount storage, the SD card is apparently un-mounted from device but in the PC I can see the SD card content but can’t make any changes as it opens up as a CD drive. Imagine you put a CD/DVD in your drive you can see all the files but you cannot write on it.
What can I do as seems to be a deep system alteration that won’t change by doing anything at all such as flashing new roms, changing complete content of pink screen, factory resets, etc, etc.
Can someone plz help me with this?

I've read somewhere that the TMN ones (or some of them) are called "black sheep" since they have some problems (installing other roms I think), maybe your problems where there all along and the updates brought them to the surface...

I have the device partitions resized months ago.

I have a so called "black sheep" and official 2.3.5 is rooted and runnin' flawlessly.
try revert to 2.2.2 using internal sd card.

I got it at last doing this:
Dial * # * # 2846579 # * # *
Background Setting > USB ports setting > choose "Normal Mode" and then rebooted.
The option that was by default and was giving me all this trouble was "Manufacture mode".
Tried to choose "Google Mode" but after reboot revert back to "Manufacture mode" again.
This way every time I connect the USB and choose the option Mount Usb Storage the SD was getting unmounted in the device but in the PC was showing as removable disk giving me full access.
When I unplug the cable I had to mount the card again.

no they are not (me +2other friends have such phones). it's hapenning the same as before: people messing up.

Well, this problem is not related to 2.3.5 update, but with updates in general, 'cause i have it about a month ago. Same thing as you, but if U use a 2.2 custom ROM (flb or void) you should mount usb properly. If U go to device manager you will see that the drivers aren't properly installed.
Altough I don´t know the exact time, i think my probelm begins when after flashing a ROM I got the blue screen and needed to install b138 elisa. I guess after we get a blue screen the phone never is the same.
BTW i got 0 imei. And have an theory to this to. The IMEI are related to an operator, so when flashing a official rom not from operator, maybe the phone goes crazy and the IMEI begins to shown 0, it's not a big deal, since we can communicate normally with people.

I found a way to revert from 2.3 and I'm in MIUI again but USB issue still there shiiiiiiit

I d0n't lnow, i don't have an solution, I install some drivers that are in huawei server, but with no luck.
The main point is: using a 2.2 rom, all ok, upgrade to a 2.3 rom, and U have problems, so the problem it's not on pc and in hardware, the problem somehow is software.
What I'm wondering it's that the official 2.3.5 help with this problem, but with your report the hope dissapear...

yes the problem is in the device nt in PC.
I think its missing the adb USB drivers inside the device.
and yes its software problem not hardware

I have that USB problem since I tried to format SD Card directly from the mobile, with CM7... all problems started there... and there is another user over here that made the same with MIUI.

I have this problem, but don't have problems with wi-fi, my imei is 0 also, but if you use custom or stock 2.2 the usb works fine, so don't think that the problem is caused by formating the sd... I guess is that the libraries in 2.3 somehow changed, i guess the libraries from geno changed a while ago, and therefore this bug appears. It's not for everyone 'cause we all know that x5 have personnality, so...

regarding IMEI yes its 0.
I don't know when it happen and how it was before as I never look for it, up to this moment.
Regarding the USB, I think start to happen when I tried to root the official 2.3.
All drivers in computer are fine as I uninstall them and install all again just to make sure.
Something change something deep inside the phone software and mess all of it.
I manage to do a shortcut though. In official 2.3 you can mount usb storage again if you do this:
dial *#*#2846579#*#*
then you will be inside Project Menu.
Go to Background setting > USB ports setting and you will see these options:
Normal Mode
Google Mode
CTS test mode
Manufacture mode
Authentication mode
Other Mode
By default all systems are with Google Mode activated.
Change to Normal Mode and it solve the problem.
If you try to change this option in CM7 for example, won't work, odd but I don't know why...

This USB issue happens to me since CM7 (imei 0, wifi error...). And it happens with all roms (even 2.2.2 stock rom)
I can use usb storage, but in the end I have to manualy mount card again.
With 2.3.5 Official I went into Project Menu and was already in Manufacture Mode, if I change it to Google Mode everything works normally... but after a reset setup returns back to Manufacture Mode.

why dont u switch back to cm7 or oxygen and give it a try . surely there is some problem with official 2.3 , mine sometimes says " sd card damaged and stuff .format ... " . am switching back to cm7 . dont want this waste of time rom . ( u know how long we have waited 4 this official update . cant even manage power widgets n LED without external app . f**kin huawie )

As I said before, this problem, regardeless appears more often now, it's not related with the update to official 2.3.5 since I and at least to people more, have this problem before official beta rom appears... It is related to the process of upgrading any rom, and I think it happens when we get a pink screen...

[Q] update gone wrong -help - friends phone!!

Hi All, I have searched but not found an explaination thats clear to me.... here goes.
Ideos X5, mine, updated with GB from Huewai site - beta version, works great!!! beter battery, faster wireless etc... update when flawlessly using instructions included in the update file.
Tried to update my friends ideos x5 exactly the same but a white one, and first stage loading the update went fine but then when it restarted it to load 2nd update file, - the 1k one, it just goes to pink screen. Obviously not seeing the sdcard...
Its not bricked because it seems to work fine... just appears to be missing some apps like the wireless/bluettoth/gps switcher that appears on mine when i pul down the notification screen, also maps says it has an error , and he does not have the 'beyond the sky' theme.... and only default keyboard laylout that pretty much sucks.
Now - the question is - can i remove the sd card from my phone, put it in pink screen mode and copy the image folder to my pc then copy it out to his phone? will that work?
I can't seem to flash it agian as it appears to not see the sdcard in flash mode hence why it goes to pink screen mode.

What phone model do you have? Which version of rom (from which thread) did you download?
Probably you need to do a downgrade. You have a thread for that.

It was the update from the manufacturers web site as I stated above - the beta vresion of gingerbread, Ideos X5 U8800 is the model of phone, not the pro version.
As I sid it appears to be running GB and the 'about phone' screen confirms this, just the apps are not all there and the boot up is different, looks like its loading frodo intially with the IDEOS logo then an android title appears, then it loads up to the gb lock screen.

It has only one step (2 steps are joined into one) and work fine
Edit: You can try using internal SD if it doesnt detect external... btw: Do you have fast bot turned off?

thanks fo ryur reply, but it did not help, this is the same version we used to get where we are at now.... it is two step upgrade, the last update file is 1k and has all the settings and apps config... or so it seems.
We have managed to get the update to complete, but there is one strange side effect, the internal sd only has 6 or 7 folders whereas my phone I upgraded 2 weeks ago has lots... I wonder if its write protected it or something.
to get round the "unable to see external sd" after running first update file - hence unable to load second file - by connecting to computer and replacing the imgage folder on the internal sd card with the ones from my phone. On restarting it imediately found external sd and the dload folder and completed its update.
Can some one explain why this worked? I don't understand why it did, but would like to.

locked bootloader + blue screen (+some useful info?)

Anyone knows why i cant access the mass storage device where the image is stored... my bootloader got messed up so i get the blue screen and recovery is a no go. i can get into the purple screen mode, 2 HUAWEI technologies devices are detected and no drivers ofc.
I tried with various usb drivers provided here but none was a match.
and ofc adb isnt working (device not found).
Getting my phone back up and running is stuck behind it.
And yes i have been looking through the forums.... for the last 5 hours... getting desperate.
Gonna install ubuntu and try my luck.. tho i already have bad feelings that all i see is .... no drives.
How damn hard can it be to access a storage device over usb :/
getting access to it is just about the only option i have to unbrick the phone i guess?

Used for u8800.
It found and connected to the phone when it was on the blue screen (the purple bootloader screen wasnt working ofc).
For backup, restore etc u still need the SPC (000000 if ur imei is null).
Also phone has to be switched into the debug/manufacture mode - which i cant do ofc.
So as for the SPC: CDMA Workshop should do it (assuming phone is in maint/debug mode also - i just got invalid/out of range value errors) - it has the option to look up a SPC, may need some work tho.
So anyone whos more experienced with it .... use it lol. Tho unfortunately for me.. ill be most likely spending my last 3 months of mandatory military service ... without phone (and therefor no internet or gaming etc - pure hell).

would placing the update.app (gingerbread update rom) on a external sd (in the dload folder + if i find a spare sd card -_-),,, like it used to do for the normal upgrade - would it start the flash automatically once i get into the purple screen...

Its your choice either put on external or internal works the same
But if your phone is bricked then external is only option I think

im cursed.... i dont have any microsd cards around here and wont be able to get any fast enough... military service starts again in 1 day (vacation will be over)... and i cont have access to pc. Crap.
So it would be enough iv i place the dload with update.app on external and simply use the vol+ and - and power to switch to the purple screen (download mode ?) and it should just find it as if it were on the internal SD?

And then proceed with the update

The internal SD tho should still have aurora ICS 1.9 zip... tho without recovery its useless.

firmware finder update location

Hi - please bear with me as i am not the greatest techie on earth.
I wan't to update my p-9 lite to nougat eventually- since i appear to be last in line for the official.
Why ? because i have diabete type 1 and use an app to communicate with my NFC based clucose monitoring system. In nougat i can turn off the sound which is higly annoying and very shrill.

So - seeing that i have googled my self blue and black it seem that i cant go directly.
So on here i found a thread saying that going to 151 would be safe- and so i hoped that from there i could work my way "upwards"
I got firmware finder from team mt - and the fun begins.
Got it on the pc- downloaded. created folder on sd card, transferred and so on- and it would not accept the update on startup.
So deleted and started over - this time via the phone and app
Found the file via the app, downloaded and restarted my phone with vol+, vol- and the on button.
It got to 5 %, stayed there for a while and then went on to my "desktop" i thougth i was fine to go. NO:::::: still on 104 according to phone.
The files are there somwhere, as i can se i have gained 1,7 GB in the internal storage.
How to proceed from here ? can't seem to find any guides to the program that makes any sense.
Anyone able to help ? getting quite annoyed and have so far spent quite some time getting nowhere but frustrated.
