I would like to load android wear on a tablet or a phablet and pair it with my phone. I would use it exactly like a watch but it would have a large screen.
Anybody ever do anything like this.
No
Its not as simple as that, I am afraid. Firmware needs to be modified to work on your tablet. Assuming there is a source code available.
Not going to happen.

Hey everybody,
some hours ago i had a HTC Magic in my hands, to play arround a little with Android and i'm really impressed. I like the workflow, the Interface and so on.
For some time now, we have the possibility, to run Android on our devices through Haret. So i thought about, wouldn't it be possible, to autoboot Android on let's say a HTC Touch Diamond?
As far as I know (please correct me if I'm wrong), the SPL is some kinda Bootloader, wich after loading Drivers, boots the OS.bin.
If we could get together the Developer of Haret and the guys from the HardSPL Development Crew, wouldn't it be possible, to melt both projects.
This could be like this:
When you boot up the device, you are asked what to boot (Windows / Android or Linux). If you choose Windows, it starts the normal boot process loading the os.bin. If you choose Android, the Haret code is loaded and boots up Android.
Of course the Android port needs a lot of drivers, but if we are that far, developing drivers for the open source Android shouldn't be that hard.
What do you think about this Idea?
I would start developing this myself, if somebody could teach me about SPL and so on.
I run the Android version for the Tilt. The number one main reason why it's not being done is that it's not 100% functional. On the Tilt anyway, the camera, GPS and Bluetooth are not working yet. I'm sure in the long run, the plan would be to build Android ROMs for WM phones.
Yes, that's the main problem...not of being non functional, but of missing drivers.

This concept is what I have been dying to have on my Touch Pro.
That would amazing... A dream come true. Needless to say, I think it is a great idea!!!!
Hey guys, what about inventing an perpetuum mobile? Great idea, or not?
Don´t get me wrong, your idea is great, but I think there are reasons, why we don´t see fully working android ports for our loved devices.
Of course there are reasons why we don't have this till now.
We also have reasons why we haven't been on mars...so should we stop trying?
I know this is a hard one, coz there hasn't been ported an OS to devices, they weren't made for, but I also think it's possible
Is there way to Flash the htc with an untouched W7Phone os? I got my from Telus and i would like to remove the stupid screen that appears when you turn the phone on..
Is this even possible? It seems that there are no possibilities to customize W7 phone, i mean good system, but with no hacking option won't go far...
give it some time.
It's a completely new OS, it is going to take a while for people to hack it.
Rest assured though, people are working on it.
Something will come out eventually.
Hello. I'm quite disappointed that the Nexus 7 doesn't support tablet mode... It really feels like a giant phone and I sorely dislike the pull down menu as opposed to the task bar type design in Honeycomb. I aware that by altering one of the lines I the devices code about display settings you can activate tablet mode.
I have never rooted a device before and thus am a bit worried. There is some one step root I've heard of for the Nexus units but wonder how I might restore the original system if I wanted to do an OTA update or such.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I recently got a Yoga Tablet 2 8 with Windows on it. After playing with it, I can say I officially hate Windows 8.1 for tablets. I'm willing to give Windows 10 a chance in a couple months, but in the meantime, I'd really like to flash it with the Android. Has anyone done this? Can I just take the factory Android image from Lenovo and flash it? I'm assuming the hardware is nearly identical between the two versions outside of the increased hard drive size. Thoughts?

I really wish this question would get some lovin'

Hello !
realy realy interesting to by this subject.
You Can use the version RC3 of android x86.
http://www.android-x86.org/releases/releasenote-4-4-r3
you will need of rufus software to burn the .img file on a USB stick.
http://rufus.akeo.ie/
don not use the .iso file but img file, and don't forget to disable secure boot in bios/uefi (last version_02WT18WW).
http://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/products/tablets/yoga-series/yoga-tablet-2-851
you will need to an USB hub because Grub menu does not support touch screen on first boot.
usb keyboard required.
it work pretty well.... it's very smooth !
exect : Bluetooth (I don't realy need) / rotation (but you can use an app from play store) / Sound :crying:
that the real problem ..WOLFSON is a special driver.
some guy are working on this subject.
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/android-x86/BMSMwG0s-fc/Z3lCSiqRIAAJ
a android version of this tablet does exist.. so, I'm surprising that it's so difficult to port android to the Yoga tablet 851-f
If somebody have the solution or a patched img to run correctly android on this tablet it will be really helpful.
pff... why i bought the windows version ?? why ??:silly:
Thanks, sound is a must, will follow this thread closely.
I know, this is old, but why don't try remix OS ? it will be the best android experience on tablet
Again, this is old thread, but I tried Remix os and Phoenix os. Both got stuck on black screen after some white text. IDK why. Any suggestions?
I haven't used my Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 for a long time, but I had clean-installed Windows 10 with all the drivers, but I have the problem that at some point after the clean-install it starts bluescreen'ing right at Boot-time.
Bluescreen error shows ntfs.sys being the problem. I'm sure it's driver-related, or settings-related, because it only happens a few hours after I set everything up again (software, my settings etc.)
I would like to use my Yoga Tablet 2 again for simple reading stuff on the side etc, also due to the nice 'n large 6400 mAh Battery, but I'll have to troubleshoot the Bluescreen Error :/
Hello world,
I am a little paranoid these days. Mobile phones checking where you go
to the toilet, making photos while you're driving. I just do not feel comfortable
with this idea. I know it is almost impossible to change this, but i feel like i want
to.
I am completely new to the whole android world, and i do not know how this is
put together.
Things i do know is that there is a boot lock which protects the device from
running other roms.
What i want here is i would like someone to explain to me if it is possible to
exploit my device, to get root access but not for the device it self. I do not want my
device to run in root mode all the time for security issues, i just want to manually
remove some apps and maybe configure iptables etc. Also i would like to backup the
original software that is installed.
Maybe there are already roms like this ?
I hope someone will respond to me :victory:
Greetings,
Rick
