Hello guys I just bought a used Note 4 problem is battery is really draining bad.
The stock official rom was even worst, that's why I installed Ditto Note 5 rom and helped my battery a little and I'm also I'm getting really low charging current.
Not to mention, my phone screen gets a little hot, I don't know if it's battery or defective unit problem. Hopefully. It's just battery problem, cause the warranty is already tripped.
Please see the attached photo.
Help? Thanks.

Most likely the battery is damaged, take it back from where you bought it and tell them your problem. Make sure you have STOCK software or else they won't repair it for you.
Only return it for repairs if you have warranty, if not, i suggest you to buy another battery.
Damaged batteries may damage the phone .

I never really cared about the "let the device charge for ## hours before operating" - and I never had any issues with battery life.
Well ... ok ... the only problem I ever had was that the battery of my Eee PC 900 died after just ~1.5 years (Windows showing "Your battery needs to be replaced") but that's another story entirely.
It may have an impact on the battery on the LONG run, but the problem you observe with your battery have another root cause.
Like I already wrote in the thread of yours, and others also recommended ...
Cause most likely is ...
- Battery dead (or you got a faulty battery back after the repair)
- Loading circuitry of the motherboard (which got replaced) malfunctioning
- Possible problem in the way you charge the phone (already wrote to you in a PM how to check and rule that out)
Take my suggestions I PM'd to you, maybe report back how it worked out, and if there was no resolve flash back to the Walkman ROM and send that damn phone off to SE.
Hi everyone,
I have an issue with my nexus that i'm looking for a little imput on. My nexus was doing fine when a number of things changed so i'm not sure what might be causing the issue. I bought a pogo charger and upgraded to 4.4.3. I had excellent battery life (used device all day and battery lasted all day) until 2 weeks after making those changes.
Suddenly, i started experiencing random crashes and reboots many times a day and about 10 days ago, the tablet won't stay on if not plugged in. sometimes the tablets screen will flicker and go off immediately after being unplugged, sometimes it'll go off after a few minutes. With the battery flunctuating between 0% charged or fully charged.
Since then i have called both google and samsung, who proved to be extremely useless not i'm out of warrantee. I've upgraded to 4.4.4, didn't work, flashed 4.4.3 and 4.4.2, and neither have worked.
So i'm thinking its a firmware issue and i'm just going to replace the battery. So my question is: Do you think this is an internal problem or just a bad battery and could it have been caused by the pogo charger?
I've been searching these forums for quite sometime and they've proved really helpful for tutorials on flashing stock images and such. Thank you so much (in advance) for your help!
Yea it most definitely could be a battery issue. If you the right tools you might want to pop off the back and take a look inside for any loose wires, bad connections etc.. I can relate to the battery issues but what you have going on is most likely a hardware problem.
I had excessive battery drain and freeze ups when I updated to 4.4.3. I've gone back to 4.4.2 and no issues, I did do a wipe when installing 4.4.2 but it was worth it for me.

I have Note 4 SM-910C Unrooted international on stock ROM 5.0.1.
my problem started with battery charging to around 80% then stops or take like 5 hours to reach 100% then when I use the phone battery suddenly drops from 20-30% to zero.
if I remove the battery then reinstall it reads 16-18% but may drop back to zero.
when turned off while charged it charges to 100% normally
It is irrespective of charger/cable i use (2mA).
tried hard reset and battery calibrate (non-root) but no good.
Any help with this problem

Sounds like your battery has gone rogue so you might wanna buy a new battery. A great example why not to buy Note 5 lol.
Maybe it's a bug in your rom build so why don't you try and upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1.
I have not used stock roms since the s2 days and after using custom roms I have never looked back.

i have the same problem with my N910F.. at 20% my phone dies.. like today it was 20% dropped to 4% in an instance and then died..
this is happening since upgrading to 5.1.1 (dirty)..
is it possible to fix this with a factory reset ?
Try Battery calibration and battery repair from the store... If it's not doing something, then replace the battery
make sure your battery is fully charged. From dialing interface typing in *#0228# to check battery info and clicked "quick start" at the bottom of the screen, then your battery will drop down quickly, try these steps several times.

Yeah, Samsung has a solution. Buy a new phone as they will never update the 1 year old one even though they ****ed it up...
As much as Iove Note family I am more and more pissed with Samsung and eventually will stop buying their ****.... Already done with their watches by the way...
Definitely a degraded battery problem.
I got a new battery and problem now solved.
I have the same problem and already bought a new battery but the issue continues.
(Sorry for my English)
I have a problem with my note 4, the phone shuts down by itself before reaching 0% battery and then it goes in a bootloop or it remains shutdown. If I want to power it up it doesn't pass the first "note 4" screen and it shuts down again.
The only way to power it up is to connect it to a power source. And the charging continues form the percentage at wich it did shutdown. Sometimes does this at 10% sometimes at 20%.
Sometimes after a sudden shutdown it powers itself up and the percentage is 0% and shuts down again, but if I plug the charger it continues from the percentage at wich it shuted down (25% for example).
I read somewhere that buying a new battery will do the trick. So I bought a new oem authentic Samsung battery but the problem is even bigger now. The new battery sometimes shuts down at 60%.
I thought the problem is my custom rom so I flashed the stock one unrooted, just stock firmware. The problem persists.
I tried to calibrate the battery using diferite methods, root method, classic method, a method where I type *#0228# in the dialer. No luck.
Another thing is that the new battery it's not at all better at battery life than the old one, it looks like it's draining at the same speed as the 2 year old one.
I found a lot of topics on Google about this problem but no solution.
Should I get my new battery replaced? Some people did this but with no luck.
Please help, I don't want to buy a new phone because I really love this note 4 but if I can't find a solution I will have to replace it.

Where did you buy the "new oem authentic Samsung battery"? In my experience, if it didn't actually come from Samsung or a carrier, it's probably fake. Maybe try an Anker?
It's probably a fake battery. I bought (against my will ) a refurbished Note 4 a couple of days ago and I had that problem. The battery that came with the phone was not an original one. You can verify it by touching it or just looking at it. The original ones have a NFC chip under the label, the fake ones don't.
Before returning the phone i bought an OEM battery and it went down to 0 before shutting down. With the fake battery it would shut down between 18 and 15%.
Buy a brand new genuine Samsung battery mate. If not online go to them Samsung cafes or whatever they are called in your place.
The battery looks like a original one and has the nfc chip.
I bought it from a big online retailer and I have warranty and invoice. I will go to a Samsung service center and ask for a replacement under warranty and if they say the battery is fake I will return it from where I bought it.
I will update the thread when I have news.
Thank you for your advices.

Hello and Happy New Year to all,
*
I came across an issue with my Note's (N910C) battery today and I would like your opinion on it.
*
A quick background:
*
The phone has never been rooted.
9-10 months ago I downloaded an official firmware (6.0.1) which I flashed via Odin and it began to drain the battery very fast, killing the phone in less than a day.
I got a new battery, but the problem was still there.
Eventually I tried another firmware which worked nicely and consumption returned to normal levels. Since then, I had no problems whatsoever.
Yesterday night I got a notification to update. I had already done another two in the past - if I'm not mistaken - , without noticeable difference.
I did the update overnight and I removed the charging cable in the morning. It seemed that it was a little warmer than usual, but I did not pay attention.
The battery percentage was reducing at the rate of 1% per minute and it died within 2 hours.
I checked battery info, nothing abnormal.
I have two questions:
*
1. Does anyone have similar experience with this model (or other)?
2. If I reinstall the previous firmware, normally the problem should be fixed, right? I mean it started after an official update which AFAIK affects native apps only.
*
Thank you in advance
I have noticed on my Note 4, after upgrading to marshmallow, the battery drained like crazy too. It would drain 10-20% when I use it for 20 mins or so. The battery that I'm using is a 'new' one that I bought just about a year ago although the problem still occurred when it was fairly new.
I'm speculating that there might be some sort of battery or software issue with marshmallow as the original battery that came with the phone also had the same issue. It would drain fairly quickly until one day it just stopped working and would boot loop until I plugged it in to the charger.
Ever since marshmallow, I have never seen my battery get to 15% before switching off completely. Sometimes even 45% lol.

I had a faulty N910F and got another (used) one and it's had occasional forced closes at between 15-20%. This worries me that it might go the way of the old one where it developed the issues with it freezing and the frequent reboots....does yours exhibit any other issues?

Yes. Unfortunately. Currently, it would just die halfway even when I'm at 50%? That's the highest that I've noticed. So I had to charge it up for a bit maybe to 60% and it would be fine before dying around the 20+ - 40% mark. Previously, the original battery that came with the phone had this weird issue where the battery won't hold any charge even when it's fully charged. Like it will go to a bootloop when I've unplugged it even though it's at 100%. When I bought the new, current battery I noticed that it would still die off at 15-20% and the original battery became bloated a few months later.
Are you using any custom roms? The bootloops and freezing could be related to using some custom roms. I changed from a N7 port to a deodexed stock rom and the frequency of the freezing and reboots just plummeted. Reboots only happening when the battery is close to dying.

Ah right, so you had only the reboots, nothing else? That's fair enough.
No, it's nothing at all to do with the ROM. I'm stock but LOTS of people have had the same issue. As it stands, the only way to fix it is to get a new mobo :crying:

Well besides the usual overheating that's related to our snapdragon CPU, nothing much but mostly battery issues.
Although there is thread that I'm following that promises to fix the 15-20% issue. Checking their method to see if it works or not

hey can you give me the link of that firmware that improved your battery life
I had a similar problem with fast battery drain - did a factory reset and it's back to normal. Make sure you're using a battery from a reputable source like RavPower (don't think there are any genuine Samsung ones left and Anker stopped making them).
