I know AT&T Galaxy S5 cannot activate hotspot without AT&T SIM.
What about verizon phones? I have canadian Koodo SIM in my old smartphone, but it large and I need to cut it before use in note 3, so I cant put it back.
will I be able to use hotspot?
I am using a MetroPCS SIM, which runs on T-Mobile, in my Verizon Note 3 at the moment. And I can use the built-in mobile hot spot feature of my phone. Also, I am running JasmineROM 6.1, if that helps.

Hey All. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus with a ATT Straight Talk SIM. I am buying a T-Moble Galaxy S4 today for $320. I want to use it as my main phone, but I know I will have to unlock it and cut the SIM card. After I unlock it will I be able to get 4G speeds? Or will the band difference screw me? What if I was to get the new LTE straight Talk SIM Card?
Hello guys, my friend gave me his Galaxy S4 today and it is a Verizon phone. However, I am on an AT&T network. Is there anything that I need to do prior to using this Verizon Galaxy S4 as my main phone? I hear the phone is already unlocked out of the box but I want to take the necessary steps to make sure this phone will run smoothly on my network.
Also if I wanted to flash a ROM would I be using an AT&T based ROM (although it is a verizon phone) or would I just flash a Verizon based ROM?
Iset up a verizon gs3 for att, I needed to add apn and that was it. Did not get att lte though voice, sms, mms and web all worked through the native apps

I purchased a tmo note 4 and unlocked it run on att. I took the sim card out of my note 3 and put it and it provisioned by itself. I currently have lte even though att sees the phone as a blackberry 7100g. Since I am getting lte I was going to let my nephew use the note 3. Unfortunately the phone he has now is not an lte phone and uses a standard sim card so I can't stick it in the note 3. Can I buy just a micro sim card from att and ask them to activate with his phone number without having to bring in the note 3? Then I could put it in the note 3 and he would be good to go. I don't want them turning off the lte on my note 4 and I would rather not give them the imei from the tmo note 4. I wasn't sure if I should post this in a specific carrier forum.
I wanted too know if the change to T Mobile will allow me to get 4G lte on the S5 and will there be any limitations from switching from Verizon to T mobile.

The Verizon network is CDMA which has it's phones locked to their network. I'm sure it cannot be moved to another network.
So there is no chance it will work because they use different networks
Did you have to do anything to it other than put your sim in it?
Apparently not. I found out today that as long as the phone is unlocked you can use it on Verizon just fine. I tried my Verizon sim in an old T-Mobile note 4 and surprisingly it worked.
For looks though you can still flash the Verizon firmware or just switch to the 935U.
Thanks!
