I wanted too know if the change to T Mobile will allow me to get 4G lte on the S5 and will there be any limitations from switching from Verizon to T mobile.

The Verizon network is CDMA which has it's phones locked to their network. I'm sure it cannot be moved to another network.
So there is no chance it will work because they use different networks

i dont live in US but as far as i have read T mobile and AT&T use different frequencies for 3g so you wouldnt get 3g on t mobile if you use AT&T phone
its a hardware thing and not something a software mod can do
T-mobile is refarming their network to be compatible with At&t 3g phones. They are mainly doing this to lure away Iphone users, but it should also benefit anyone using unlocked phones on T-mobile.
Here is a list of locations which are already live.

When on download mode it says write protection enabled.....
its not letting me flash an AT&T or Tmobile modem either and I suspect that it is related to the write protection being enabled, Is it possible to disable said write protection? I've searched all over XDA and all I keep getting is some safestrap recovery nonsense
First of all. why are you trying to flash a ATT or T-mobile módem m

Write protection enabled has nothing to do with the bootloader being locked. It says that on every phone. The reason why it fails is those modems aren't compatible with our phone. If you are trying to use your phone on those networks you have to unlock your sim slot and change the apn.

the point is that I want to enable 4G on those frequencies.
If I'm not wrong they should be compatible but for they are being blocked off by software means?

Your wrong, the Sprint S4 does not have those LTE frequencies. You can only receive LTE on the frequencies that the Sprint S4 supports and it doesn't support the AT&T, Tmobile, or Verizon LTE frequencies. If you are going to use the Sprint S4 on those networks you will only get 3g, edge, or maybe HSPA+ if you have the right APNs installed. If you want to use LTE on those networks you should buy a phone for those networks.

i'm not looking towards using it on sprint, i'm looking towards activating at&t 4G for use on a at&t network or international 4G for use on an international
there shouldn't be a requirement for buying a new phone when the only main differences are software.

There are to many hardware differences to mention between the Sprint CDMA S4 and the GSM/international version. The main thing being is the SPH-L720 does not include the hardware to receive the LTE frequencies that AT&T uses and the rest of the world. Sprint never spend the money on extra hardware. In fact, the Sprint S4 isn't even compatible with half of Sprint's LTE network. It isn't a software problem, the hardware is not there. Be happy with 3g or buy an AT&T phone!

This may be a dumb question, but will an AT&T s5 work on VZW if rooted/unlocked?
I found an abandoned AT&T s5 with a crunched screen, and am planning on repairing it and unlocking it to use on VZW. Is it worth the trouble?
Anyone?
It won't work on cdma
joshua.justice is correct. It won't work on Verizon. Verizon still uses their CDMA network for voice calls, texts, and 3G. The AT&T variant of the S5 cannot be activated on Verizon's network because of that.

Short answer, no. Although once repaired, you could sell it off and probably get a good chunk of either a Dev S5 or a Retail one with the profit.
Could this work to activateactivate a gsm phone on CDMA?http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
Can I use a Tmobile Note 4 on AT&T and vice versa and have it work with LTE?
In other words, is the Note 4 interchangeable with both Tmobile and AT&T LTE service?

yes
Potentially, yes. You could do the reverse, so I can't see why it wouldn't work.

It's showing the same bands to it should work, no one will know until they actually test it. The Note 3 also had the same bands, but some anecdotal reports stated the reception was a bit worse and it didn't hang onto LTE as well. Nothing scientific, just users reporting this so make of it what you will. Personally my business can't take the chance of reception issues so I just bit the bullet and got the ATT version knowing I am saying goodbye to root. Once again this is unsubstantiated, it's just what I got from hours of looking at all the forum posts about using the Tmo Note 3 on ATT.
How about a Verizon Note 4 on AT&T? Verizon is charging almost $150 less for an off contract phone, however I have a mobile share plan with other AT&T phones on contract so I'd need to stay on AT&T if possible...
Is it possible to "unlock" (or whatever the term is) an AT&T phone to use with Tmobile?
I want to use AT&T mainly but when I'm traveling internationally, I want to be able to switch to Tmobile.

Yes you can and the term is "unlock". Just make sure the bands are compatible on your at&t phone with the Tmobile network.

Well, that's what I want to know. Will LTE work on both networks with either or both Tmobile and at&t versions?

I know you can use TMOBILE PHONES on ATT - I assume you can do the reverse -but I don't think you can run TMOBILE PHONES on Verizon - or Verizon PHones on TMOBILE - I say this because the roms created for Verizon were really never very compatible for Tmobile phones ( at least not for me on any of the roms I tried to flash - data didn't work - wifi didn't work - ) so I htink they have different kinds of radios - but I am not a developer so that is only a guess -
USE TMOBILE phone on ATT and you are fine

Yes - as long as you manually add the APNS - but keep in mind the ATT PHONE will have a locked bootloader and it will probably be a while until someone finds a way to root the ATT PHONE - I say this based on what happened with the Note3 and S5 - I assume the same will be the case for ATT NOte 4s
If somebody takes an AT&T phone to T-Mobile, it will get fully functional LTE (as they both use band 4 aws). However, T-Mobile has built most of its 3G network on Band 4 UMTS / HSPA (AWS 1700/2100) which AT&T phones to not support. This coverage footprint is bigger than their current LTE network. The AT&T phone will get Band 2 (1900) UMTS / HSPA in the areas T-Mobile has refarmed.
A T-Mobile phone is fully compatible with AT&T. All T-Mobile phones support bands 2 and 5 for 3G (H+). T-Mobile phones also support AT&T's Band 17 for roaming reasons.
Be advised that if your using a T-Mobile device on AT&T (preferably an LTE device) it may not get the best reception, as AT&T optimizes their modems for their lower frequencies. Last year my T-Mobile Note 3 LTE reception was awful on AT&T. The T-Mobile S5 on AT&T was improved, but not as good as AT&T's own S5's reception.

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this - but if the ATT modem is better for att users - if someone does have a TOMBILE PHONE - why is that we can't flash an ATT Modem on the TOMBILE Phone?
I realize there is a chance of 'brcking" but if the phones are so close to each other anyway - why can't you flash an ATT Modem on a TMOBILE phone? Anyone?.

I'm not sure. But a few years ago there was a guy from Canada using a Rogers device ( I think the S3?) anyway AT&T had just released an update for their S3 and it drastically improved signal strength and data speeds. He took it upon himself to flash only the modem from CWM. The phone rebooted and he had no IMEI number. Therefore his phone couldn't even connect to the network. I'm not sure how or if he resolved it. But that lesson right there made me never flash any carrier's modem on my device.

That would keep me away too - but it's too bad - as much a like as the variants are - it is too bad they are not more interchangeable
[Q] Can I be on Sprint and T-mobile at the same time after domestic unlock?
I was planning to a get a S4 L720 on Freedompop (runs on sprint) for the free 500mb data plan and I was thinking if i could get my tmobile prepaid voice only to work in conjunction with the phone. Could I get the CDMA and GSM at the same after I do the domestic unlock for the phone?
Would flashing a Tmobile Rom and using sprint apn work?
No it's not possible to do. Either one.or the other.
ok. thanks for the help
I was under the impression that the sprint GALAXY S4 didn't have the GSM antenna. Is that incorrect?

No
Also you can switch effortlessly between tmobile and sprint by changing your network preference. But you can't receive calls on the two networks simultaneously.
I have an Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 unlocked and rooted on T-Mobile right now.
The only issue is when I call it goes through but the phone app hangs.
Sound doesn't work either.
