So I have a neus 6p and have it rooted with twrp installed. I had the boot pattern password setup but have forgotten it. My phone died last night do to me not putting it on charge in 2 days. I have tried to do a factory reset but twrp needs the same pattern. I have tried to use google device manager but no luck. HELP!!!

so i was able to get into twrp but the passrod for that and the one for my phone seem to be 2 different passwords. I wiped everything via twrp and now my phone is on the boot screen permanently. help!

Haven't attempted bootloader/root, yet I'm soft bricked...

Last night I noticed that my N7 backlight was on but it wouldn't respond to anything; I reset it by holding down the power button. Now it won't get past the Nexus logo and I've been waiting for over an hour and multiple resets.
Just as it says, I haven't even attempted to unlock the bootloader or root my Nexus 7 2013, yet it's now soft bricked. The only thing that potentially could have soft bricked it was that SuperSU and BusyBox Pro are installed onto the device (Google automatically installed them from my previous Nexus 7 the first time I turned it on); it was my understanding that since the Bootloader is not unlocked and I haven't rooted my device, that these programs would do nothing so I never bothered uninstalling them.
What in the world happened?!?
Also, and more importantly, I'm a bit unsure of how to fix it. I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381582 , but every time I try to run the .bat files it says: 'fastboot' is not recognized.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Unlocking your bootloader would wipe your data and reset your tablet.

OK, thanks. I'll do that and update this thread and see if that fixed it.
But do you know why my N7 was soft bricked in the first place?
OK, I got it working again, although it's worth noting that even after I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP, AND rooted using SuperSU, it still wouldn't work and would get caught up on the Nexus logo screen. It didn't work until I went into TWRP and hit: Wipe -> Format Data. Only then did it work.
That's good...

Moto X Pure issue, urgent help.

Hi guys,
So I had been using my Moto X Pure (3 months approx) and it had been perfectly fine. Except just a couple of days ago while I was on snapchat the phone suddenly shut down. While I tried to restart the phone it got stuck on the boot screen and didn't go past that. I initially tried to wipe cache partition & factory reset but nothing happened, it was still getting stuck on the boot screen.
My phone is unrooted and I haven't tried experimenting with the kernel or anything, mind you.
I left it alone for a couple of days and it started to boot up again, it was working perfectly, no issues whatsoever. But just yesterday the same situation occurred yet again :/ not while I was using snapchat but I unlocked the phone but the screen didn't turn on and it restarted by itself and got stuck onto boot screen again.
Is this an issue with the software or the hardware?
I talked to Motorola and they said they will issue a replacement phone, but I live overseas so it could be a hassle. Should I just send it in for replacement or try and reinstall the rom using factory image?
Thanks guys, really appreciate your help
could try reinstalling the factory image but if you havent messed with anything on the phone maybe its a hardware issue... i dont know
If the bootloader is still locked, i would definitely go through the replacement hassle. Should have no issues whatever after only 3 months and 100% stock.

Have you tried a simple factory reset? Basically a data wipe?

Yeah - I haven't heard of stock unrooted phones getting their system image corrupted such that a reset doesn't get back to proper "stock". Maybe a botched OTA, but if you've got that warranty option, probably be wise to take it.
I don't know this phone and Motorola well enough to say that unlocking your bootloader and starting from scratch, as I would be sorely tempted to do in your situation, won't void your warranty option.

Nexus 6P Bootloop

Today I was browsing the internet on my Nexus 6p when it suddenly cut to a black screen. When I tried to restart it, I noticed that it was stuck in a bootloop. After some searching, I've tried to wipe the cache, delete the data, do a factory reset etc. I did root my nexus approximately 3-4 months ago, however I went back and flashed the stock factory ROM. I've been trying to flash a new ROM now, but my PC isn't detecting my 6p as a device. I've looked at the device manager menu, and I'm seeing nothing. After some looking around, I've seen that some 6p owners are experiencing bootloop problems. Any idea what I could do?
Ps. I bought my phone via a carrier, freedom mobile.
Note: I WAS NOT USING A CUSTOM ROM, I HAD FLASHED A FACTORY IMAGE A FEW MONTHS AGO
Do you have TWRP flashed? Can you get the PC to detect when in TWRP should work as soon as you get into twrps menus.

I have managed to get TWRP installed, and now my PC is detecting my phone. I managed to get it to work again, however after around 15 minutes of use, it decided to freeze, crash, and go back into a bootloop.
(I managed to fix it by flashing an OTA update, I'm not sure if the TWRP installation helped)
Wish there was a way to test memory if it was a PC I'd say memory or storage was bad.

Can I flash stock recovery back?

Hi Guys,
Hoping someone can help and tell me that Ive not bricked my brand new S7 edge
I have experience in rooting / flashing a number of android devices so I was quite confident in what I was doing.
So I was trying to root my stock rom, I flashed TWRP using Odin which worked fine then I flashed the Super SU. When I booted it then asked for a PIN to boot, it definitely wasn't what I set and would have only set it to 1 thing. So I did some googling and found that I could clear data or remove the pin key files but in TWRP it couldnt mount data and I tried re-formatting but it sat there for over half an hour and I had to hard reboot. TWRP now just freezes at the splash screen during boot which confuses me cause even if I switched off during re-formatting, I was only on the userdata so surely that shouldnt affect TWRP? I then got to the stage where I thought entering the max PIN attempts would just wipe data but no it tried to boot into TWRP which is useless cause it doesnt get past the splash screen.
I can still get into Odin mode, is there something else I can try flash? I had tried reflashing TWRP before but it was still freezing at the splash screen
I thought of maybe wiping data over adb but I dont think I can do that unless the phone boots or gets fully into TWRP?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Stewart

OnePlus 5 touch screen stop working

Could someone help me fix my OnePlus5?
Simply from one day to the other the Touch screen stopped working, I can not select any option, being possible only by physical button.
I can not enter Recovery Mode because when I first connected the device I have already entered a password, so I can not type the password because the touch does not work.
I do not know what else to do!!!
I have the OTG cable from OnePlus and even putting Mouse or Keyboard, both do not work.
Would anyone have other suggestions?
Follow the compressed video showing the recovery mode locked by password, touch does not work.
And photo from FastBoot Mode Screen.
Any updates on how you fixed this or what the problem was?
I had to RMA, motherboard was replaced.
I have the same problem
My screen stoped working and the recovery mode is protected with password like the video sent, i live in Brazil and here i dont have the RMA option, can someone help me?

I'm facing the same issue . My phone was working perfectly fine one minute and then the next, the screen stopped responding including the two capacitive buttons. I rebooted it thinking it mgiht fix it, but now i"m stuck on the lockscreen.
Could you point me to the unbrick tool? Is it this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/unbrick-tool-oneplus-5-t3648169
Does it do a factory reset or would it fix the unresponsive touchscreen issue without any loss of data?

your bootloader unlocked ?, if you're on twrp, then do a back up via mtp.
yes i was use that one, well i was do factory data reset and still touchscreen was didn't work, i was still on twrp so i backing up all my data before i mess with it.
I've also had this issue already had the MB replaced but I had my new MB lost touch for about 5min today so i'll see if it gets worse like it did last time.

I got an usb-c to OTG cable and was able to use the mouse in trwp. I followed a guide online to get past the lockscreen by deleting the lockscreen key files. After I did that, my screen just magically started working again. But now when I boot into the phone, it swipes to unlock but I can't access anything. It looks like it may be encrypted or something? I tried to set a new password to a pin/pattern but it won't save.
When I boot into trwp, it asks me to enter a password but I never had one? I tried using "default_password" and also using the numbers to represent the pattern but still doesn't work. Any idea how I can access my files or get my phone to boot up fully? I'm trying to avoid a factory reset, :crying:

Ahh i never facing like that, try using multirom twrp ? At least at this moment you need to backup you're data.
You mean lockscreen thingy on data/system? There's a 3 files i guess and if you delete that, yes you can pass your screen.
I have no idea if twrp asked for a password, before this happened you're decrypted or encrypted? Password on twrp only for encrypted i think

I deleted the 5 files in data/system and passed the lockscreen. But it doesn't let me see any information . I think I was probably encrypted since I don't believe I decrypted anything. I can't backup my data in twrp because without entering the password my files have a lot of folders that look like "WDAbwwoefdFZZfde." Before I deleted the keys, twrp asks me to enter my password which is a pattern, same one as when i start my phone. After I deleted the lockscreen keys, trwp asks me to type a password from letters or numbers.
Do you think if I were to dirty flash my rom again without wiping, that it will recreate the lock keys and decrypt my data? Without having to use multirom twrp?
