I just received this phone as a work phone. We use our internal network for SIP calling. This option is not where I can find it. Why would Motorolla remove such an important feature of native android?

Hello,
i was wondering if it would be possible to limit any application on my hermes to only use wifi for data-retrieval.
expect for the mms application of course...
a few days ago i flashed my hermes with wm6 from lvsw, it works fine (expect the thing, that i cannot change the keyboard-layout...) and reinstalled the SPB GPRS-Monitor. It shows 0 kb all the time, but this cannot be true.
10 minutes ago, i connected to google.com to search for some things, and, as expected, pie showed up google. the only weird thing is: after closing pie i noticed, that my wifi-connection was disabled, and my 3G/GPRS-Connection was enabled.
it doesn't matter what i try. if i disable 3g/gprs in comm-mgr. it reenables without user-interaction. and in fact: the device seems to use this connection, if its enabled (without asking me of course)
so no again my question.
ANY way to limit PIE and email-checking to only use wifi?
any way to do this without breaking my ability to receive and send mms?
greetings
garfield
ps: sorry for my, partially, bad english. i am not writing english so often atm. and therefore i'm not trained
hi there again, seems that I found a way to limit all applications to use wifi only.
in fact "my work network" is the network containing all my wifi-connections.
with this in mind I found one option in start >settings>connections>advanced. there I can select wich betworks to use t automaticallz connect to the internet. I put "my work network" in both fields. and now mz hermes complains everytime I try to check my mail with wifi disabled. when sending an mms my hermes asks for a new connection in order to send that mms.
this is all I wanted. so this thread is now "solved"
[EDIT]
Is there any way, to edit the thread-title? searched the bottom of the page, and the "thread-tools" but can't find any option anywhere...
if theres any mod online, please feel free to edit the thread-title and prefix it with [solved] or something like that. thank you

Hi,
as far as I know, Windows Mobile for Smartphone supports the "Alternate Line Service", a feature allowing one to have two phone numbers on one contract and switch between these numbers. The necessary menus for this service are only visible if the service has been activated in the CSP of the simcard.
However, eplus (Germany) offers this service, but does not activate the simcard. Therefore it is necessary to activate the menus manually, which could be done on e.g. Nokia phones by so called CSP-override.
I wonder if it is possible to activate these menus in windows smartphone as well, e.g. by a registry hack?
Thanks,
Chris
Hi,
I've just upgraded to 2.3 on my Nexus One, and I'm trying to setup the in-built SIP functionality with my Pennytel VoIP account.
I went to Settings, Call Settings, then Accounts (under Internet call settings).
I've setup a new account with my Pennytel username and password, and the Pennytel server. I also setup the Auhentication username.
When I try to make a SIP call (get on a WiFi connection, try to call number, pick Internet Call, then my Pennytel acount) - it simply tries to call, then does "Call Ended" right away.

I've tried with a SIP proxy and without one.
Also, I've tried CSipSimple on this phone with the Pennytel account, and it seems to work fine, calls through etc.
Is there any way to diagnose what's going on? Or get more detailed error messages for the Android 2.3 inbuilt stack.
Cheers?
Victor
Hello! Could someone please check if OP2 has the possibility to set up in the phone settings a SIP account for internet calls (VOIP). Original Android phones (Nexus) have this option. Thanks in advance for your help.
Yes it seems to have the settings for sip accounts.

I've just bought a brand new Microsoft Lumia 950XL. Excellent phone but for me useless, because is not possible to activate the mobile hotspot. With my business contract I have phone data only with a personalized APN. So I have to set my Internet APN in the specific section, and everything works well as a smartphone. But as soon as I try to activate hotspot, the phone (probably) switch to default phone profile of the operator (TIM) where I have no data. This is a common problem, but both with android & IOS phones it' simple to force your phone to use ONLY your added APN, simply by specyfing in the field APN Type the parameter SUPL; DUN.
But WM10 has not this or similar option. So I wonder if there is any workaround (maybe a registry key?) or I have to leave WM as many...
