Since I posted those, both CM and Resurrection Remix can be flashed on XT1254 with @baybutcher27 beta kernel found in those posts.
By tomorrow noon you can flash CM with it's own kernel, when the 11/28 nightly appears.
In those posts are also links for bootloader warning removal, Moto camera for CM, as well as 60fps custom bootloader animation.

I think this is why some people were getting system storage space errors. They had something else installed on their system before flashing new ROM and didn't wipe it clean first.

I did twrp back up , but I can't find it the back up folder in twrp folder ?? How this happened no idea ..

On the stock rom TWRP doesn't show my backups at all like it usually does but in TWRP it shows them there like it should. No idea why.

You went to /data/media/0/TWRP/Backups?
On my phone which is running CM, I can see TWRP backups 3 ways: via USB connection as flash drive, in TWRP recovery mode, and through Root Explorer app.
Via USB, you can drag them off onto your computer to save elsewhere.
But of course you can only restore them in TWRP recovery mode.

System storage issue was something different. It did end up being the file system type. Might have had a bad flash somewhere along the lines. One I moved /data back to ext4, restored my stock backup, I followed the same steps and everything worked fine. I'll chalk it up to a fluke, or bad download.

Thanks all I found the twrp back up in data/media/0/twrp/backup

I'm not brave enough to be one of the first to install a custom ROM. I also don't know how much modifying this needs coming from the Moto Maxx. Are they nearly identical?

Anyone else getting google play services has stopped message? I get it on every boot but only once. Probably cuz that gapps package is so old. Do we have anything else to work with?

Did all the steps in order above exactly and runs smooth but I can't make or receive calls I have signal and data but no calls says cellular connection not avalible. And here's a screenshot of phone status in settings

You aren't the first. Many, many people installed both Resurrection Remix and CM 12.1 yesterday on their XT1254 Droid Turbos. You are actually late to the party.
Yes, they are exactly identical except for radio. They are all Quarks. Motorola released two Quark devices across the world under 3 model names. No, it was NEVER exclusive to Verizon. Forget that marketing lie. They even released the XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx which was IDENTICAL even in radio to the Droid Turbo, with the SAME FCC ID. Sold by smaller regional LTE/CDMA carriers. it was the "dev" version of the Droid Turbo as it had unlock-able bootloader and runs on Verizon with a Verizon SIM card. The XT1254 Droid Turbo is just the last Quark to get the bootloader unlocked. Where have you been?

Bricked after flash

Hi
I have bricked my Note after flash new CM9 from XpLoDWilD.
It was in CyanoFree ROM with LP6 modem.
I wipe factory/reset/cache/david
Flash CM9 ver 2
Flash Gapps date 20120429
I think LB2 modem is better as showed on XpLoDWilD screen capture, so plash it.
Wipe again (as XpLoDWilD instruction)
Dead ...
Everything right now completely no react.
the instructions was (even mentioned in the discussion threads) to flash from a GB kernel.
you did not follow instructions, it's your fault.
yeah we assume you flashed from a GB kernel and NOT a leaked ICS kernel..

Think that the ROM have problem because it's not just easy to brick the phone by wipe data.
I read that it's very risky to do a wipe with a leaked ics kernel and can burn your emmc.
Maybe if you had followed the instruction your phone will be ok now.

No, CM9 doesn't have a problem, the kernel you wiped with has a problem.
There's a reason the instructions specifically told you NOT to flash from an I9220 repacked kernel in red text. But you did it anyway.
The ICS leak kernels are notorious for doing exactly what happened to you, which is why you were told NOT to flash from them.
OK...so I was trying to read all the pages and took from it this... I'm on cyanofree...
Boot to recovery...flash abyssnote kernel 4.2...reboot into recovery...full wipe...wipe cache. Advanced wipe dalvik. Install zip from SD and flash cm9. So that's what I set out to do. But I got as far as flashing abyssnote kernel and rebooting into recovery...
...recovery keeps flashing the screen and rebooting back to recovery...buttons are unresponsive ie. Volume for up and down...altho occasionally register a press...and it won't boot either...stalls after boot animation...maybe I flashed the wrong kernel but it was from dev section. Or maybe I did the wrong process. .. or maybe the process has this tendency. Can anyone shed any light? Sorry if I missed something obvious ....
I posted in cm9 section also sorry. Just checking in here
Edit : I understand instructions said to do another way but I guess this is a lesson to others following the thread and what others have done won't necessarily work for you. Follow the clear instructions instead of "yeah it worked for me" methods

Don't care. This happens when you don't read.
But this is an effective way to get rid of the noobs here. Just write an install guide that's longer than 3 lines, and voila! They won't read and then they're gone. Phone is dead.

No, again (for people pay more attention on flash this CM9 ROM):
- I dont flashed any repacked i9220 ROM, also dont flash any Kernel.
- The problem is i have full wipe after flash the CM9 -> will make brick
- Flash Gapps, Modem, wipe cache .... is safe
As normaly, all other ROM is just request full wipe, wipe cache before flash the new ROM at all, but, because this ROM is another, request make this again after flash the ROM, my mistake is do the full wipe, so pls, pay attention because this is easy make a mistake and expensive!

This means you're on a leaked ICS kernel because thats the only way you were on CyanoFree..
You skipped the step
FLASH A GB KERNEL should have been step one.
among noobs they can be confused..and maybe the CM9 thread should maybe be a bit more noob friendly as in saying.
IF you have any other ICS rom downgrade to GB before flashing to the real CM9 ie downgrade via Odin and flash the pit + repartition..that way you know for sure that you are in a clean state
just my 1.3c
Bricking your device is A real pain. Thanks for the heads up and hope you get back your device soon with minimum loss

They all look extremely tempting and I actually understand which each file is, well almost hehe. Which would you recommend downloading in order to start from scratch on the HTC One M7 to be able to download OTA's? Or would it be quicker to just flash stock recovery?

It depends on your current situation. If you have the Stock Rom complete with Preload data. Then flashing the Stock Recovery should do the trick just fine with little hassle.
If you have a Custom Rom or have at some point unlocked the bootloader with your Stock Rom then the Guru Reset would be your best option. As Unlocking the bootloader wipes the Stock preload data which will cause the OTA to fail.

Ah that is fantastic! So everything I need is included in the guru zip? Man, one again you've been amazing. Thank you so much!
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
Just a quick update on the guru zip. Everything has worked perfectly, up and running as new. Just thought I should mention that on the bootloader screen it still says Tampered and Unlocked. Plus there's no longer a recovery, is this a problem for OTA's? Knowing me I've probably messed something up along the way.

Flashing a ROM will not change anything in the bootloader. You need s-off to remove both of these.

I think you probably mean that there's no more custom recovery installed on your phone? Because the reset rom flashed back the stock recovery, like danny said at post #8.

Yep what @alray said ,
Just for clarity, with the stock recovery if your getting a black screen followed by a picture of a phone with a red exclamation mark then that's normal. That is the stock recovery. To reveal the recovery menu hold volume up and press the power button. You will see some errors about unable to mount sdcard this is also normal. The recovery is looking for an sd card slot which the M7 doesn't have. We only have the internal storage :good:

Ah I understand now. That is really helpful, thanks both of you for clearing that up. I've read on a couple of sites that you may need to re-lock the bootloader and to get rid of the "Tampered" sign if you're to receive OTA updates, do you guys know if that's the case?

I know others have made posts but they all use ****ty servers. I have uploaded this to Mega and Android File Host as they are both faster and more stable then pony Samsung's crappy servers.
When you flash rom with the setup as in picture it will flash over your previous rom and keep all data and apps and settings.
For maximum stability i recommend after first boot you do factory reset.

Easy Guide to Root :
1. Go to Rooting Guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63637426
Download only the P600 modded boot IMG and then come back here. Move the tar to tablet. "In my opinion that guide is very confusing" This is much more simple...
2. Go to TWRP - https://dl.twrp.me/lt03wifiue/
Download the img.tar This file you keep on pc to flash via Odin.
3. Go to SuperSU v2.52 Beta - https://download.chainfire.eu/743/Su...erSU-v2.52.zip
Download the zip. Move the zip to tablet.
4. Reboot the tablet into download mode and open Odin on the PC then connect the tablet to PC. In Odin click AP tab and locate the TWRP and uncheck Auto-Reboot then hit start. When done hold the power button + vol up button "the vol button furthest from power button" + home button til you see red writing on top right hand corner. This can take a while so don't panic just wait.

5. When finished booting into TWRP pull Spen and click Install then find modded boot img "remember to switch between IMG & ZIP mode in the lower left hand corner" Now flash the boot img. Do not reboot just go back and switch back to ZIP mode and flash SuperSU when done reboot.
6. Wait for the boot to finish. You are now rooted.
I hope this makes it easy for you!!!

Not yet I will wait a few days to do anything as I just want to see how it works and the battery life on stock. Then I will root and remove many system bloatware apps and see the difference.

This is the Spanish region but I live in UK and at the very first setup screen I chose UK language so it don't really matter about the region as there is no modem. This device is just WiFi so region makes no difference.

You are welcome. Well I flashed this over a custom rom Hyperdrive 4.4.2 and then once it booted I then factory reset it. Before I factory reset the device it was fine I just like the fresness of roms.
So the answer to your question is I don't know but I don't think it will make a difference as the bootloader is in the rom and will be flashed automatically with the rom. I came from 4.4.2 so I cannot speak about 4.3 but I assume it will be the same result.

Nothing against all their hard work, I'm just slow. Your step by step was so easy to follow! Now I'm rooted and happy. Thanks!!
Guys, a question.
If i want to clean install Lollipop with full wipes using Odin on the SM-P601, which is currently on the UAE csc, using the INU csc, what are the steps i should follow.?
And if i factory reset using the recovery, will all my files in the internal storage get deleted.?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. ☺

Yes it will work if u download the 605 rom and then from root post download the modded boot image for 605 if available and last thing get TWRP for 605 as well.
Do as described in my guide and apart from what I said above the rest is universal meaning that supersu and closed are the same for all versions.

as I held these three buttons, I watched as the Samsung note splash screen flickered and restarted over and over. I held for about 10 minute and gave up after my hands got tired. After that, I couldn't get past the splash screen and had to do a straight ROM via ODIN.....can I still root? What was I doing wrong??

To root: you must install the ADB installer to your PC then run the twrp tethered recovery on your PC (type:ACCEPT , option 4 then T4) as well with your phone connected click launcher.bat and make sure to have super su.zip on your SD card and flash that zip file boom you are rooted
Sent from my zf2e[ze500cl] using Tapatalk
Safe debloat list, there were some apps that I could of deleted but I didn't and obviously if there is an app that you use don't delete it. I've even deleted the launcher and the messaging app and replace them with lighter ones.
As for any app pertaining to audio, v4a does everything, it works smoother. Just enable expert ui in v4a settings, you can fine tune everything. ??
To completely delete app remains. Remove the folders the app left behind in data/app, system/app, system/priv-app

Thanks you for everything in one place. Very helpful resources. But how to root
Simply enable usb debugging on your phone, run adb installer on your pc and connect your phone. Make sure to have supersu.zip on your sd card, Run launcher.bat from tethered twrp with your phone connected. Type accept then 4 then T4. Then on twrp on your phone, tap install, search for supersu.zip flash it. And you are rooted. Bypass everything else root this and that. Just flash super su. That is the whole point of rooting in the first place, to install supersu and grant root permissions for applications. I hope i helped.

What kind of ROM will it be? Fairly close to AOSP or a performance-oriented Stock ROM?
It will basically be exactly how I have my phone set up and be debloated. Xposed, stuff like that. It's an Asus rom .118 with as much Asus stuff I could take off. Even with changing the firmware on this phone its still locked down by AT&T. So that means no kernels, everything has to be based off stock or at least use a stock kernel to run

Only difference I could find between the two is that the 2E (AT&T Exclusive) has less storage and RAM. It's 8GB of storage vs 16GB and 1GB of RAM instead of 2GB.

You also can't unlock the bootloader on the AT&T variant, and you need to unlock it to flash custom recovery and custom ROMs.
Edit: actually, this might work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/zenfone-2e-root-rom-t3174135/post64716579#post64716579
Nope, i followed that, no success. Stupid network error, maybe if someone could decompile the unlock app and figure out the reason it won't unlock for the 2e. Maybe apatch with lucky patcher or some way to force it to unlock the bootloader without connecting to asus servers. Hmmmm

The thing is, the AT&T variant is only 60$, that's why i'm asking :silly:
2e is a ok phone, i down graded to the lowest firmware 12.16.4.3 and it's much faster than 118. Super debloated, and init.d apk allows kernel auditor to work, so the phone feels faster thanks to @cidlover for the find. I almost considered a blu phone but development isn't what i thought it was, more than this phone though.
And no i haven't tried carrier unlock, maybe region lockaway by @Chainfire

[GUIDE] Everything LG G3 Cat.6 (F460S, F460K, F460L) : Root, Recovery, ROMs, and more

Me myself got confused when it comes to my F460K. There are only two active threads for the variant, and it's starting to be a mess. So I will organize and maintain this thread as much as possible. All your inputs are welcome, so help me make this thread as complete as possible!
1. LG PC Suite
If you want to just upgrade your phone to stock Marshmallow (provided you aren't), then the LG PC Suite is enough to do software updates. It can also be used to backup your data and move files from your PC to your phone and vice versa. But if you want the custom ROMs, then you should head to...
2. Rooting
IMPORTANT NOTE: You can only permanently root if you're on LP or KK. Marsmallow users can have their phones rooted but after a reboot, its gone. So you must downgrade first before attempting to root permanently. See below how to downgrade.
So here is the link on how to root your phone. All the files you need are also there. It's simple: plug your phone, wait for it to be recognized, and press Start.
3. Downgrading to Lollipop
If you had your phone upgraded to stock Marshmallow, then you must downgrade first to be able to install custom recoveries and ROMs. To do this, you need to follow the steps in this post, which is a part of a larger general post on how to root LG G3. For the KDZ file you must be careful not to choose a different variant than your own.
4. Custom Recovery
Now that you've downgraded to Lollipop, this is where the fun starts. To install TWRP recovery on your phone, follow the steps on this link. Actually it's just an apk, so download it, install and follow the instructions. Hassle-free.
5. Flashing ROMs
Flashing ROMs for the Cat.6 is the same as with other phones. Download the file, put it in the root directory of your internal storage, go to recovery mode, do a backup of your current ROM, do a full wipe, and install the new ROM. Below are the ROMs available for the F460 lineup! Have fun!
SHOUTOUTS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE!! hyelton, avicohh, ingoljosh, bender_007, realdreams, and Cullenator!
CUSTOM ROMS SECTION
This all came from the thread that Cullenator made. If there are any more that should be added, let me know! Click on the links to know more about the ROM and the download links for it. Some of the links might be dead or outdated.

AutoRec app thread u mentioned above doesn't states F460 variants in support list. It states F400 which is also Korean. So which variant app actually to use?

Yep Tizen is based on stock. Also I've updated the link for the recovery. Seems that it isn't on the main link. Cheers!

You can try doing this, just replace PH with whatever country you're on. It needs root btw

One more question, I have used AutoRec app on other variants of G3 running stock MM and it worked. Ur thread says of downgrading to LP first in order to flash custom recovery. Will this app u have provided work on stock MM?

I came from stock MM on my F460K. I was advised to downgrade first since I need to root first before flashing custom recovery. There are no permanent root for F460 variants running stock MM, that's why I downgraded, then rooted, and lastly flashed custom recovery. So I haven't tried using AutoRec on stock MM. But I don't think it will work.

In that link, there's a temporary root that you can do. You will have root access but once you reboot it will be gone. During that period you can do the localization.

I'm referring to the symbianize link I gave you. I did that on my F460K before and I was able to change my localization.

huh... I'm pretty sure it worked for me before. You can try iRoot. What you want to do for you to change the localization is to edit the build.prop and you can only do that if you are rooted.
Or you could always downgrade to stock lollipop and use a custom ROM with root access.
