Hi, as the title says, does anyone know if this has an IR sensor for universal remote use?
If so, does it have the learning feature?

IR sensor yes. IR blaster no so this device can NOT be used as a Universal remote unfortunately. Personally the moto website spec list is a bit misleading. When I first read it said IR but was referring to the sensor and I took that as being a blaster too.

the IR laser auto focus measures the distance vary accurately and fast.

Do other camera apps use laser focus? If so, they might be having access to the API

Hi All,
Searched quite a bit but could not find the answer.
Does L29 has IR Blaster in it as I recall reading it somewhere that it has but it does not detect in remote apps.

Nope, no IR blaster.
Also Samsung for S7/S7 Edge has given up with it.
In all devices with Laser AutoFocus I tested, including my nexus, occluding the laser sensor with my finger didn't change how the phone focused or how fast it takes for it to focus...
is this sensor just a waste of money and space?
Given that this device is cheaper than equivalent models I don't care if it works or not.

It costs more than a galaxy s7 in Israel.
And it doesn't even have an IR blaster.
I am talking about laser auto focus in general as the laser on the G3 and LG G4 does nothing special as well.
Can the IR emitting light that's built for the iris function be used by apps like the Note 4 IR blaster could? (Specifically I'd like to know if we can use the Note 7 with Galaxy Universal Remote "

But by all means let us know if anyone learns otherwise. IR blaster is the only reason I'm not upgrading... I use it too much on my N3

It's likely not going to happen. Just get the harmony hub and use wifi to send it a signal, which has an app for your phone, if it's for your home or business. Otherwise, RIP ir blaster; I know this is not the news you want to hear but sadly it's the one people will get :|

Hi, use ir blaster for iphone end zazaremote, it works perfectly
Since the Note 9 has an Infrared iris scanner, I am wondering if there is an app that can use the scanner with visual, like a camera or night vision. Off course small distances, just for fun.

That was custom done by a dev or app maker who has the Pocofone...
You could always ask them to hep but as they don't own the Note they probably won't do it all...
