Hi i have just one question if i check in odin "nand erase al"" will not brick my phone ? i want check it and flash new rom ?? thanks for info.
Hi,
Nand Erase All should be used with caution. If you accidentally flash anything and Nand Erase All is ticked, it could brick your device.

Hi, I know normally most threads are about help getting out of brick but in my case I find myself in the strange situation of needing to brick a phone. The jist of this is I'm helping a friend brick his phone so he can send it back to Tmobile. He thought it was bricked called it in and they sent him a replacement (Lg Optimus) but after I did some reading and messed with it I was able to bring it back lol Now he wants to keep the Optimus but here we are. I've spent hours looking for ways other than rooting and flashing custom spl's/radios/roms so that he doesn't get voided warranty.
Any thoughts or ideas on this? A friend is an app dev and told me to try to find some brick command file that "could be made" but I found nothing and he has is too busy with his job (sys admin) to help right now. I was thinking of doing OTA and taking batt half way thru to brick but cant find file anymore, seems google took it down from their server
Simple... Do you have eng spl?
If so, issue these commands:
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase data
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase splash1
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase misc
fastboot erase radio
fastboot erase hboot
Now take out the battery and back in - watch the fun :0)
NB: If any of the commands fails, then just skip it......
not sure about the eng spl, will look it up in a sec. on my way to work lol Thank you!!!
to easy, install Rom Manager from Market, and flash the recovery from Mytouch3G, for example, or if u got 6.35.xx radio, flash recovery for HTC Magic, i bricked one doing this, and also a few people i know got the same result... :s
because rom managerĀ“s recovery for Magic is for 3.22.xxx Radio, so if u flash the recovery on a 6.35 Radio, u will get a full-brick....
Vodafone, replaced the motherboard, no questions asked, in all the cases, but .....
But if they say that the warranty has been void, what then?

This is your best option. The phone wont do anything after. Just a paperweight.

Flashing the wrong recovery will NOT brick your device.
You just did not know how to recover this... :0)
Hi everyone !
My phone has recently shown a defect on the lower border of the touch screen. It's still less than one year so I will send it to google.
The thing is I have cyanogenmod installed, rooted etc. I am planning the restore the phone as it was brand-new: original rom, kernel...
I Have followed everything on the first comment of this post:http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312
Do you think that will be enough or I have to do something more in order to they won't realise i changed anything ?
Thank you all !
Last time I have sent my N4, I just restore the Stock Rom / Kernel, and lock the bootloader. Didn't have any issue.
Best advice would be to
Boot to recovery and make a full backup
Transfer this and anything else you want to PC
Reformat all in recovery (including SD data)
If you want to go overboard then format all with fastboot like such
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
Then flash latest stock firmware through fastboot (run the flashall.bat)
Then lock bootloader
fastboot oem lock
Reboot , power off, send in for rma

Thanks man ! the only problem is that I don't know how to block my bootloader because I am not longer root user
"fastboot oem lock"
Don't need root, just connect the phone to your PC in fastboot mode and fire that command.

Hello, I wanted clean flash stock rom on my Galaxy S5 G901F so I did that using Nand Erase All and I did it 2 - 3 times to try different Regions. After the flash was done I was getting "device memory error: the data partition has been corrupted. You need to reset your device to factory defaults. This will erase all your data." After I pressed the button everything was erased and it was working fine. Did I do any harm to my device ?

If it was just a partition corruption you should be fine. This is usually just a problem in the partition tables that the phone can't fix without wiping everything and rebuilding all the partitions on the device.
After you run a NAND Erase All, it is usually a good idea to import a PIT using Odin so it can rebuild the partitions correctly.

First of all: don't listen anyone about replacing mainboard e.t.c.
Try to reflash your phone with latest factory firmware via RSD Lite or manually in fastboot mode. Then perform a factory reset and boot your smartphone into Android.
Hope it will help you.
Follow flashing instructions in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750
Download stock firmware here:

Good luck!

Hey, I've been trying to fix my imei on my mxp, but I've tried the solutions in this thread already and it doesn't seem to work. Can you please help me?
Hello guys. First, im sorry if thread is on wrong section. Im going to flash Stock OS to my phone. In options section, i have options like NAND ERASE, FLASH LOCK, DECOMPRESS DATA. I want to select NAND ERASE but some forums says NAND ERASE can delete your IMEI some forums says if your EFS partition corrupted, you can fix it with NAND ERASE etc etc. I want to select and try it because i have KG STATUS prenormal and i want to fix it. Im thinking maybe NAND ERASE can help. I know for NAND ERASE, RE-PARTITION must be selected and i selected pit file. What can i do? NAND ERASE can erase my IMEI or any important data? Can fix my KG STATUS? Thanks.

I used nand-erase and did not lose the IMEI that option only delete this sector:
ODIN LOG:
<ID: 0/003> ERASE_SECTOR: 11900928
What corresponds to delete userdata:
INFO PIT:
--- Entry #36 ---
Binary Type: 0 (AP)
Device Type: 2 (MMC)
Identifier: 32
Attributes: 5 (Read/Write)
Update Attributes: 5 (FOTA)
Partition Block Size/Offset: 11900928
Partition Block Count: 0
File Offset (Obsolete): 0
File Size (Obsolete): 0
Partition Name: USERDATA
Flash Filename: userdata.img
FOTA Filename: remained
I've a problem. I has checked "Nand Erase" and flash the rom. Now I lost my 2 IMEI! I'm trying flash rom with the PIT file, but this doesn't work! Anybody help me? PS. Another problem, that's whe boot in recovery mode, I can't Wipe Data factory. I get this erro: "failed to mount /. system (invalid argument)". :'(
