It's probably due to the marvell variant not having otg capability
It could be mtp interfering.
Enable usb debugging with notification enabled.
Select the notification and it should bring you to usb options.
But you will likely on have choices between mtp and ptp [camera/picture]
and not ums [usb mass storage] which is/should be the one you need.
Do you have bluetooth options? That might be the way. :fingers-crossed:

My tablet supports OTG and usb debugging was enabled it was already in mass storage option and enabled external speakers option, FML.
And also, my iPhone 4 and iPad Air 2 and iPad 2 work easily without problems.

Can someone tell me please where is the option that was in the curtain drop down to change from mounted sd to unmounted sd so that it connects to the cpu when there is a usb wire connected. After the froyo 2.2 update with the dk28 modem its not there..
Im starting to get tired of removing the usb cable and putting it back in just to get the mass storage option to pull up.
Any help is appreciated
I'm not sure what your question is, but when I plug in the USB cable it is in the drop down notification window with DK28.
If I click on charge only when I plug in the usb cable, I cant seem to find the location to put the phone into usb storage unless I remove the usb cable and choose usb storage..
I used to just swipe the curtain down and choose usb storage from there but it doesnt seem to be located there any more.
Is there another location to turn usb storage on other then removing the usb cable and plugging it back in?
Try turning on USB Debugging. After turning on Debugging, the box won't pop up, but you can enable mounting through the notification bar.
Menu->Settings->Applications->Development->USB Debugging

I was actually going to post this fix.. That actually worked you have to turn debugging on in order to see that option.
usually when i connect my s4 to my macbook it would immediately display a 'connected as a usb device' notification and my macbook would detect it straight away. but recently this doesnt happen anymore even with a different macbook and different usb cables. i've already enabled the usb debugging option in the developer options setting but nothing still works, please help! Thanks a lot!

Hi klaren
You can try Android file transfer
This link http://www.android.com/filetransfer
Feedback result
I've been trying to connect my DJI Phantom controller to my computer so that instead of using a phone to preview the video, I can use my computer screen.
The app opens fine, but when I plug the controller into the computer (via a USB) cable, it doesn't seem to detect it.
Is there a setting I need to change? Or is this even possible?
Thanks
Enable usb debugging.

nothing works
When I connect my 6P to my Win7 computer with the supplied USB cable, I get a notification asking me to choose:
"Use USB for: charging, power supply, file transfers (mtp), photo transfers (ptp), midi"
I would have thought files transfers would be the right choice to use with adb, but that doesn't work (devices list on computer is empty). ptp works fine.
Is this normal? Is there a way to always choose ptp, so that I don't get a menu on my phone every time?
EDIT: I see that Developers Options includes "Select USB Configuration". This is set to MTP, but that doesn't help. It still defaults to charging and I must choose PTP rather than MTP when I first plug in. BTW, I'm on the 5 Oct Nougat, but behavior was the same on Marshmallow.
Hi All,
In the car stereo 8227l demo, both the usb ports are not working/ no response by using usb check app it shows thar usb ports are not enable, can any one help me in enabling the port
There are some USB settings in Developer Options that you might need to configure.
Sure, I enabled and made usb debugging. Also enabled other usb settings like usb audio enable but no luck

HU doesn't recognise my phone when I plug it in via USB. it only charges my phone. I've changed USB modes and enabled debugging but no success.

Doesn't help
I finally got mine to work. it turns out the port on my phone was dirty. so after cleaning it out thoroughly with alcohol wipes and contact cleaner with a thin safety pin straightened out and bent into a U shape, I plugged it in and voila... notification pops up saying device connected
on my device, it was necessary to activate the Welink option in the Factory Settings Menu, to reactivate the usb ports
