Signature Banners
Show which ROM you are using!
Hello Galaxy S users,
Here I present to you, a set of signature banners you can insert in your personal XDA-signature to show what Rom you're using/own. I don't know if there is any interest in this sort of thing here, but we'll see where this thread goes... I did this thread originally in the Galaxy 3 and later the Galaxy SL forums. I started out with a pretty much random set of ROM banner's just to see if people are interested. Be aware that I dont own a Galaxy S phone, thus I am not active in this fora. If you see a mistake made in the banners please let me know. If you're using/own a ROM that's not in the list yet, just reply to this thread or PM me. Copy the link from the html field into your signature to start using the banner.
NOTE: After getting some feedback in the SL forum, I would like to mention a quick and easy way of downscaling the banners for those of you who want them to be smaller. First right click the banner of choise and select "save-as", then save the PNG somewhere on your hard disk. Next upload the saved PNG on http://tinypic.com/ and select the desired scale from the dropdown menu over there. You can then insert the link to the image in your xda signature. For the people out there that know how to use the Gimp or Photoshop, I would recommend using that .
The following list of banners is in alphabetical order:

You have to click the USER CP link ontop of any XDA forum page. On the left there's a bar with options: Under the Settings & Options entry is the "Edit Signature" option .

You have one set up allready, how do you not know?
Anyway... you can just copy the html field provided underneath the banner of choise and paste it in your sinature . Its simple as that . You can also save the image to your computer (or phone) and upload it from there to your signature... That's if you don't want to depend on external storage. Hope this helps
I like that slim ics logo, even slim ics boot animation looks nice

do you compile it by yourself? is it from cm source?
goo.gl/8cjZs Thanks much appreciated on the nightly.
This build pops up a message for me after reboot post install of the ROM:
'Unfortunately, Android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped.'
This message pops up every now and again during use.
And of course subsequently I can't use the standard keyboard to input anything since it only appears for a second and then vanishes. I tried another 3rd party jellybean keyboard from the market and that also has the same message when input is switched to that keyboard. Although the name of the keyboard changes as you would expect.
I'll try reinstalling again to see if that will help but otherwise I will have to revert to Preview 3 CM10 ROM as that worked with my GT-N7000 without that issue.

*update*
A second install appears to have fixed that issue. Yay!

No, we can't do that. The OP's best option is to go into Q&A or General and help a few people, ten useful posts will open up the Development forum to him.

Its not the official release site because i got no link to the cm10 nor the hacksung team at all.
I'm just someone that builded it from source. Ohw and i will change the links to google_drive or mediafire links since the current fileshare site i use is indeed reported as a malware site.

Same kernel as cm10 preview.
Because that kernel is in the repo.
Only it would have had a few updates.
I got this link from a friend, installed it and now testing it
For anyone have no idea about firefly :
How to install :
From recovery like every rom
Problem :
The rom run with Chinese language, you need to go to setting and change it
You need download gapps for android JB 4.1 and flash it because this rom doesn't have Play Store
I'm currenty can not sync contact from my gmail account, have no idea only me or everybody , need more testers
Notice that this is still a very early build!

i think it's only base on basic features just add some customization and improve UI, so 1 day through, only sync account is big problem for me, now everything ok
Did you get permission from OPPO to post this publicly? This is a private beta and my guess is if OPPO wanted it posted publicly they would have done so on their own forums.
Sent from my X909 using Tapatalk 2
I think oppo want test it.. You don't sign any confidentiality agreement i think.. So....
I test this rom and don't like me.. I prefer original rom instead, and Cm10.1 will be my rom in a future when it's stable, it's in all languages, camera have more options, rom it's best organized, best web browser, draws less battery, ............................. I said it's in all languages????
Firefly... Very "pretty", but very useless, and 4.1.2 and not 4.2.2?? WTF!
You actually have to agree with some rules. So yea, Oppo won't allow this.
If you have some confidentiality agreement, then is different.. This post wil be erase..
This is supposed to be a private beta so link has been removed and thread has been closed. If anyone is interested they can go try to sign up for the beta-no, I do not know where that is, I don't have the phone
So lately I have been eyeballing the Xiaomi Red Rice for its price and good specs. My wife recently had a friend from China visit, my wife is from China, who had a Xiaomi phone running the famous Miui setup. So I started looking at the Miui and its pretty slick. I tried the Miui launcher from Xiaomi from the play store and it was nice but its just he launcher. I started looking for something more complete then that. I came across this thread from Gfan, think XDA for China:
http://bbs.gfan.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5212006
Original Link for Miui (Official)
http://en.miui.com/download.html
See China Official Download:
Then select Sony Ericcson
Scroll down to 3rd party support and select it
It will take you to Gfan and use Chrome to Translate:
Look for this:
MIUI V4 models to download a list of third-party adapter, scroll down to Sony Ericsson
See:
Model: SONY Xperia play (A1i)
Download: http://bbs.gfan.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5212006
Author: mame32P
Highlight link and open in new tab, then follow down after Google Chrome translates to Eng, or your preferred language, to the downloads.
This is 4.0.4 Miui (ICS MIUI)
If you use google chrome to translate emmbedded is a link for Miui kernel 720p and 4 parts to make the ROM. I downloaded and flashed the kernel and the rom an next thing I know I am running Miui v4 on the PLAY, and boy is it gorgeous.
I just got back from vacation last night but I will be making a video and posting a link of it here. I also am uploading now a zip, insie this zip is the meta-info and system folders, plus several other folders that say things like R800, R800x, etc. Inside these folders are jsut apks, mostly to get touchpad support although I have not fully tested yet.
Here is the download link:
http://d-h.st/VKj
I take no credit for this, I dont think this was even posted here on XDA only on Gfan, however if this belongs to someone here who created it please post and I will totally give credit where credit is due.
I will be making a video shortly later tonight and posting it here.

I have to say this rom is sweet, I am loving it. Also, Xperia PLAY Launcher appears in the market so it has been modded to use the launcher and the gamepad and touchpad.
i cant seem to download the kernel because if "hotlinking" or something :/
Would love to try this and see how it performs ^^

Uploading video to youtube, its 10 minutes video.
Here is the official video for Miui V4 from Xiaomi:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDu7RxWTfd4
My video is still uploading, yeah its a big video, 1.4gb at 10 minutes.... also in my video there may be some Chinese chatting and my two daughters running around. Tried to find a quiet place in the house... kind of hard with a 4 and a 2 year old.
Just found this, I think this may be V5 of Miui for PLAY/Neo/Arc etc.
Miui English Forums:
http://en.miui.com/thread-3182-1-1.html
I am installing now, its got some neato video that plays before it install, like its Aroma installer on crack.....
Okay, so the previous link is for V5 of Miui for the following phones, this is a port, so unofficial.... also just noticed its based off of CM 10.1, so in my opinion its not a true Miui ROM, whereas the v4 I have installed is from what I can tell a true Miui ROM. But I could be wrong, I am still new to this Miui stuff.
Another link, sorry for all the stuff, just wanted to share. This link has a post for GSM and CDMA Xperia PLAYs.

Okay, so it is Aroma installer but its really slick install and loader, really pleasant and bristling with options prior to install.
Edit - V5 looks no different then v4, with the exception V5 states rom as V 4.1.2 of Android

I couldn't find any threads in this forum for discussions on the Xiaomi.eu rom releases.
What is Xiaomi.eu?
Xiaomi.eu is a custom ROM based on MIUI. Per my knowledge, Xiaomi.eu roms started off as a way to get a more "European" experience out of MIUI, which was predominantly Chinese. This involved better localization for non-Chinese languages, and making changes to make MIUI more global in nature.
How is Xiaomi.eu roms different from Official Global Stable?
Xiaomi.eu is a custom rom, and as such, contains a fair few tweaks over the Official Global Stable. Ofcourse, due to its unofficial nature, you can not complain about Xiaomi.eu to Xiaomi.
Where can I get Xiaomi.eu roms?
The latest of Xiaomi.eu rom can be downloaded from here: http://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
There is a weekly (afaik) release schedule for these, and you can find the latest version on top. Do take a look through the first post to see if there are any special notes for the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon/kenzo before downloading. You do not need to be a member to download the rom.
Which Xiaomi.eu rom should I download?
Ideally, you would want the latest release. But, humans are prone to making mistakes, so some things may break on new releases. This thread exists to have such discussions.
As a question against weekly ROM vs stable ROM, as the name implies, the weekly ROM has more of a beta nature to it. It works very well, but think of it as a comparison to nightly builds from CyanogenMod (except this is weekly, not every night). Stable ROM is much more suited for the normal consumer, but it comes without root.
So, how do I install?
Good question, and the answer to this depends on whether you have unlocked officially or unofficially.
If unlocked officially:
Assuming you have already unlocked unofficially, flash the official build of TWRP
Wipe data and flash rom
If unlocked unofficially using MiFlash
Install one of the patched/safe TWRP's that do not hardbrick on flashing MIUI roms. If you language is Chinese in the recovery, select menu item present on column 2-row 3 on main twrp page, and select the globe icon and choose your language.
If after flashing the safe TWRP, your base rom does not boot, you can just proceed to installing Xiaomi.eu rom
As a precaution, delete the emmc_appsboot.mbn file from the rom zip using winrar. Just open the zip in winrar and delete without extraction. Winrar will do the necessary repacking without worrying you.
Do a normal wipe of the phone and install xioami.eu rom from twrp
Precautionary step: flash the universal boot.img flasher from your safe twrp thread. Some twrp builds do not need this, some do. Read in your twrp thread of choice if it is needed.
First boot of the ROM takes approx 15-20 mins.
If im not mistaken, Xiaomi.eu weekly ROM is based on China Developer ROM with china bloatware removed + their tweaks + language.
So its quite 2 in one i guess
I have flashed eu miui rom 6.5.5, everything is good for me.

They haven't released a stable ROM for weeks, waiting for it
Using their ROM based on 6.4.21. It's very good. It's smooth and battery backup is nice.

I don't generally see battery stats. Let me know which app to check and I can post screenshots.

Hi,
I'm curious about this rom, I will install it soon. The main part that is mainly bothering me with the 'normal' roms is the network issues - missing calls while screen is off/phone is in standby. There's a fix by disabling qualcomm.qti.supersaver and then dialing a set of numbers. But that keeps the modem awake AFAIK, and this reduces the battery life to 50%.
Any comment on this with xiaomi.eu's rom? Or do we have to wait for xiaomi/qualcomm to fix this first. Couldn't find info about it on their forum, the tab is pinned in my browser
Thanks in advance!
I'm using the Xiaomi EU stable for a while now, no issues that I can see, not sure about missing phone calls as no one contacts me that way.
5h40 screen time with 51% battery remaining. I use Miui launcher and shut off most sync stuff in my apps.

You can just goto battery from setting and check.
Does Xposed Framework run smoothly on the ROM?
I had to get a modified version for the official Global ROM and not all the plug-ins work on it.

That's actually the one I'm using on my current ROM already (Global Dev 6.4.14 Beta for Snapdragon). Some plug-ins don't work though (for example MinMinGuard) and I can't install them through the Xposed Installation Module. I was hoping the standard version would work on Xiaomi.eu-ROM.
While I was in the process of trying out this rom and writing a how-to for this thread, I ended up hardbricking my Redmi Note 3.
I have made some observations, and I am hoping others in this thread can help clear them up/confirm.
Xiaomi.eu ROMs are based on China Dev and assume that you have an officially unlocked bootloader
Since they assume you have an officially unlocked bootloader, they ship with a emmc_appsboot.mbn file in the rom
If you have an officially unlocked bootloader, all you have to do is flash twrp and flash away
BUT, if you are unofficially unlocked, you will hardbrick your device if you flash it this way (I hardbricked my device)
For installation on unofficial unlocked phones, you have to first delete the emmc_appsboot.mbn file from the downloaded zip. Use winrar, and just delete the file inside the zip without extracting (winrar will take care of repacking etc if you do it like this)
Then, install one of the patched/safe TWRP's that do not hardbrick on flashing MIUI roms. I used @Rajdip's Safe TWRP v2. You will have to change the twrp language from Chinese (swipe away on the first screen which is in Chinese, then select the menu item in column 2-row 3 on main twrp page and select the globe icon and choose your language). While flashing Rajdips twrp, my underlying China Dev rom would not get past the Mi Screen, so I proceeded to flash away Xiaomi.eu rom as in the next step
Next, do a normal wipe of the phone and install xiaomi.eu rom from twrp
Before booting, flash the universal boot.img flasher from Rajdip's thread
You're done. Boot up now. First boot takes ~ 15 mins, and most of the time would be spent on the Mi Screen (with the word: android on the bottom with three flashing dots below it).
Hope the guys in here can confirm on the above. If it is correct, I will add it in OP.
If you have already hardbricked your phone and you end up in Qualcomm 900E mode, follow Rajdip's thread on resurrecting. If that does not work (it worked once for me, not the second time), your only hope is test point method. I fixed my second hardbrick with test point.
Next on my personal list: Trying out Xposed and figuring out how to get the official Xposed repo on xiaomi.eu

1) If you are using safe TWRP, you dont need to delete emmc_appsboot.mbn
2) Universal boot.img patcher is included inside the TWRP (inside patcher folder, in root directory) , but you have to flash it manually.

You a right.. As I mentioned before, it is based on China dev rom, means still an miui rom.
Those that unlocked unofficially will have to do the steps mentioned by you.
