Signature Banners
Show which ROM you are using!
Hello Galaxy S users,
Here I present to you, a set of signature banners you can insert in your personal XDA-signature to show what Rom you're using/own. I don't know if there is any interest in this sort of thing here, but we'll see where this thread goes... I did this thread originally in the Galaxy 3 and later the Galaxy SL forums. I started out with a pretty much random set of ROM banner's just to see if people are interested. Be aware that I dont own a Galaxy S phone, thus I am not active in this fora. If you see a mistake made in the banners please let me know. If you're using/own a ROM that's not in the list yet, just reply to this thread or PM me. Copy the link from the html field into your signature to start using the banner.
NOTE: After getting some feedback in the SL forum, I would like to mention a quick and easy way of downscaling the banners for those of you who want them to be smaller. First right click the banner of choise and select "save-as", then save the PNG somewhere on your hard disk. Next upload the saved PNG on http://tinypic.com/ and select the desired scale from the dropdown menu over there. You can then insert the link to the image in your xda signature. For the people out there that know how to use the Gimp or Photoshop, I would recommend using that .
The following list of banners is in alphabetical order:

You have to click the USER CP link ontop of any XDA forum page. On the left there's a bar with options: Under the Settings & Options entry is the "Edit Signature" option .

You have one set up allready, how do you not know?
Anyway... you can just copy the html field provided underneath the banner of choise and paste it in your sinature . Its simple as that . You can also save the image to your computer (or phone) and upload it from there to your signature... That's if you don't want to depend on external storage. Hope this helps
I like that slim ics logo, even slim ics boot animation looks nice

do you compile it by yourself? is it from cm source?
goo.gl/8cjZs Thanks much appreciated on the nightly.
This build pops up a message for me after reboot post install of the ROM:
'Unfortunately, Android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped.'
This message pops up every now and again during use.
And of course subsequently I can't use the standard keyboard to input anything since it only appears for a second and then vanishes. I tried another 3rd party jellybean keyboard from the market and that also has the same message when input is switched to that keyboard. Although the name of the keyboard changes as you would expect.
I'll try reinstalling again to see if that will help but otherwise I will have to revert to Preview 3 CM10 ROM as that worked with my GT-N7000 without that issue.

*update*
A second install appears to have fixed that issue. Yay!

No, we can't do that. The OP's best option is to go into Q&A or General and help a few people, ten useful posts will open up the Development forum to him.
Am I to understand that you're taking Preview 3 as a foundation and build upon that?

Its not the official release site because i got no link to the cm10 nor the hacksung team at all.
I'm just someone that builded it from source. Ohw and i will change the links to google_drive or mediafire links since the current fileshare site i use is indeed reported as a malware site.

My version contains these changes the preview doesn't
Ohw and my rom is not supported by cm team nor hacksung

To OP: You also get the contents of this mod from XDA or any other kitchen and sources, imagine how if they don't share these useful information and kitchens..? You won't be able to release anything.
Since you've get something useful from this community, you should share it and allow other to modify it.

hey guys ,can i port a cm10 touchwiz rom to a cm10 rom for LG P700 ? ..
I don't think it can be used, coz when they are from different manufacturers, they'll need heavy framework modding etc which the tool does not do.
So its better to port from the sam manufacturer and a similar specs device.
Regards
N
i understand ,that was the real fun in all this porting thing ,i realy wanted a touchwiz inspired rom ! thanks a lot !
The tool won't help you with it coz each one would be different. There's a guide arounf here for porting manufacturer roms, try that

v2.3 released. supports init.d tweaks
Thanks ,maybe someone wil develope an automatic porter like this one for diferent manufactor devices..until then i'm going to search the manual way to port id! Cheers

An automatic "porter" for different devices roms is kinda impossible as this software would be able to practise magic lol. This means it would download the related kernel sources, edit them and insert correct code, including proprietary device files, configure the kernel and compile it (besides of that it must grab the toolchain and set the PATHs, etc, etc..). Then it would decompile the roms framework (of course including full automatic smali magic ) detecting the correct requirements and edit that stuff before it compiles and signs it with system sign keys.. And last but not least it has to compile board related drivers (for kernel and rom) and bake them into the project. When finished all processes it builds a full working flashable rom zip for your device - and if you are nice it will also download the right Gapps and copy all of it to your SDcard
Sorry for sounding like an a**hole Just joking a bit.
The point is that a software like that would do all the work for devs and we all wouldn't have to work that much.. It would be nice, but it's just too much code, too complex for a software to do this. Porting a rom to another device cannot be done with prebuilt files usually. You need to work with the source and that's a lot of work. Except the devices are using almost the same board, chipset and CPU.
Besides of that: This is a nice tool! Thanks for your work, this will be helpful for beginners to perform some first steps! :good:
im trying to port axiom for the hd to the m im using dhackers pere aosp as the base for the m. everything extracts fine then starts the porting process then at the end it says THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE FILE SPECIFIED THE FILENAME, DIRECTORY NAME, OR VOLUME LABEL SYNTAX IS INCORRECT. that is after desktop\romporter\temp\platform.xml 2 files moved any ideas?
By the end you mean which step? The end of extraction?

I don't have time to fully set up the GitHub with file trees, but I'll do that later this evening. Generally speaking it will be /filename/out/contents

Alright so, have you succeeded at decompiling SecSettings and deleting the "RemovePreference" code, then adding the smali files to SecSettings.apk and android.policy.jar from Note 10.1? And didn't boot?
Well, there was no line in SecSettings.apk to change. Like I said, this is gonna take some reverse engineering and trial and error as the tablets have a different framework.
Otherwise, I followed the guide and straight copied the corresponding smali files from the Note 10.1 and didn't boot.

I will try it tomorrow...On another note... a new firmware has been released for P5100 today, named DMD1, I'll take a look at it tomorrow or later today to see if there's anything helpful in it.
Right now I'm working with the MB2 firmware for 5110...

But MB2 is quite old, like 2 months old... DMD1 was released 4 hours ago. I'll see perhaps DMD1 has some surprises

Sweet. Like the OP says this is a collab, so once I set up the GitHub we will all be able to make changes and track the changes, and hopefully more members of the community can contribute. I'm sure with more people working together we'll make better progress.
I think IF we ever get this working, we could make a nice community ROM with a lot of ported apks from the Note 10.1 :good:
Just to make things easier... Can you guys clarify which models you have? I have a P5100

i have p5110 me and rom dmc3 official firm
and in advance Sorry for my very bad english ^^
I have a 5113 but will be using the 5110. Once the GitHub is set up the files can be compared. I really don't think there will be that much of a difference between 5110 & 5100 but we'll see. The project can always be branched so there's a 5110 and 5100 branch, and commits can be cloned between branches, so that makes it nice.
And for poor English that's no problem! It's great to have you on board!

Shouldn't matter. We're just going to extract and decompile the .jar and .apk files that we need from it, not the entire ROM.
They should apply to any version of the tab, same as CM10.1 builds apply to any version.
You'll see how it looks once the GitHub is ready. It will take me like 40 minutes more to download this firmware though...
yes sure .
with note 8000 hum we havent same rom it is CMD2 :/ for compare files it is great with equal version
You have test DMD1 it is includ all language ? hum tomorrow i test this rom and i test to insert smali/xml of note 8000
I'm a beginner in AndroidModding, and the ways that I have found so far are boring (as well as my ability to describe my project).
Basically, I'm developing a visual tool to facilitate mods creation. I know there are already some, but I intend to make a better base for beginners as I don't make crap.
I'll leave out some screen shots and when I make the program more stable I'll upload a first test version.
I wish everyone who has any idea about what I can add in the project manifest and suggest the same. At the end I will give credit to all who help me improve things.
And also, if you guys think this is will be useless please tell me this too

Live log would be good. To watch as phone boots into an inevitable bootloop when trying something new. Saves running log separately and lets you view as it happens. With filtering would be good. Adbmagic did something similar but you cant copy or search the log.

Also, who wants help me making me an logo? I was thinking about an android with Merlin's costume, but I don't have the skills to reproduce this
